Dear Marchjuly

I have some issue to ask you in Thailand national under-21 football team page, I think it is not necessary to create this page due to in Asia football other country in Asia use only U17 U20 and U23 no U21 and the important is in the official continent match their are no compettiton about U21. Their have only friendly compettition and you can see in other asia country their are no U21 team. So can you please delete or make a discussion to delete U21 page cuz it overlap with U23 page.

U21 is only policy from the FA to send a player to U23 in official match so U21 is not a main or important to have a page on Wikipedia.

@ Ministerboy: I am not an administrator, so I cannot delete a Wikipedia page. However, in a case like this, even an administrator would be unlikely to delete an existing article without some sort of consensus being established to do so. There's a couple of things you can do if you feel this particular article should be deleted: you can (1) propose that that article be deleted, (2) you can nominate the article for deletion, (3) you can redirect the article to the U23 team or (4) you can merge the article content into the U23 team. Before you do any of those things though, I think it might be a good idea for you to ask for other opinions either at Talk:Thailand national under-21 football team or at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football. The other editors who have edited the article might feel differently than you do, and it's probably a good idea to at least give them the chance to comment on what you're proposing; furthermore, the editors belonging to Wikipedia:WikiProject Football know much more about which association football (i.e., soccer) articles are considered OK for Wikipedia than I do, so they might have some opinions as well. -- Marchjuly ( talk) 09:00, 3 November 2018 (UTC)

FiiO F9 image

I have left similar message on the nominator's talk page. In my opinion the discussion is just a waste of time. It would also be a courtesy if the nominator would ask me about this on my talk page prior to nomination. He didn't and he is not often online as it seems and yet his nomination would just lead to waste of time of other editors.

Lily is the PR of FiiO. I asked her to upload the image to Flickr with CC-BY or C0. You can see another article I have written UE 900 - I also asked the PR of Logitech to upload the images to Flickr. The reason is I couldn't find any photo of F9 on Flickr and I don't have F9 to take a photo by myself. Hope I cleared this misunderstanding. In case I haven't, I can provide screenshots of my emails with Lily whereby I guide her how to upload images on Flickr (in the e-mails it can be seen that she is replying from pr@fiio.net.) @ Dmatteng: All the original copyright holder needs to do then is send in a permissions email to Wikimedia OTRS for verification purposes. The sender should use some sort of official company email address to be established they are who they say they are. Sending me or another editor screenshots doesn't resolve things because (1) I am not an OTRS volunteer and (2) I have no way of verifying the authenticity of the screenshot. Emailing OTRS adds a few more steps and a bit more time to the process perhaps, but it's the best way to ensure the file is not challenged again in the future. Ideally, the file should've been uploaded to Wikimedia Commons by the PR rep with the original EXIF data following the same steps to make copyright ownership clearer. If everything checks out, it will be eventually moved there anyway; so, there's no need to re-upload the file at this time.
After the email has been sent in, the sender should receive an automatic reply from OTRS containing a OTRS ticket number for reference. They should keep a record of this number in case they need to contact OTRS for any reason. The sender (or you if you want) can then add Template:OTRS pending to the file's page. The email will then eventually be looked by an OTRS volunteer. If it's OK an OTRS volunteer will add Template:OTRS permission to the files page; if it's not, the OTRS volunteer will probably add Template:OTRS received to the file's page, and contact the sender explaining what the problem is.
Once an email has been received, OTRS volunteers will only discuss specifics about it with person who sent it; they will not discuss any details with anyone else. You can ask general questions about it at WP:OTRSN, but that's about it. The process might take awhile since there tends to be a backlog, but eventually an OTRS volunteer will get to it. If, by chance however, the file is deleted in the meantime, don't panic; deleted files aren't gone forever, but rather only hidden from public view and can be fairly easily restored at a later date per WP:REFUND.
While this might seem like a waste of time to you, it's not for Wikipedia. Files are being uploaded all of the time by people pretty much claiming something similar to what you're claiming. This type of verification is necessary just to ensure that the rights of copyright holders are not being infringed upon. Moreover, people upload photos all of the time to social media, but most of the standard licenses used by such sites are not sufficient for Wikipedia's purposes. In many cases, people upload photos/images that they don't hold the copyright on or which they are inappropriately claiming copyright ownership of. Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons only accept free licenses which basically allow anyone anywhere in the world to download the file at anytime and use for any purpose (including commercial and derivative uses) and such licenses are not revocable; so, both projects try to be as rigorous as they can in verifying copyright ownership and copyright holder intent.
Finally, it's not really necessary for you to post personal messages on the user talk pages of anyone who suggests in the FFD discussion that the file should be deleted. It's better to respond in the discussion itself because that's any consensus regarding the file's status will be established and that's were others who might have an opinion are likely going to post. You can participate in the FFD discussion if you want and you can even WP:!VOTE (see WP:AAFFD for some general information), but it will be a community consensus which determines the outcome. -- Marchjuly ( talk) 22:16, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

The reason I have posted a message on your talk page is because he didn't reply and it appears he is off-wiki.
I'm not joking it took me about 1 week and 7 emails till Lily from Fiio got it right. For some reason she initially uploaded it with "All rights reserved" :) and couldn't find a way how to correct it. I predict it might take then about 10 emails till she will get it right with the OTRS.
I understand that what you are saying is right, but even though her English is not that bad, she is not a native English speaker and I'm sure OTRS won't accept her e-mails in Chinese LoL.

@ Dmatteng: OTRS has lots of different volunteers from all over the world and Wikimedia Commons is multi-lingual because it deals with all language Wikimedia Projects, including Chinese Wikipedia, and files are uploaded with non-English descriptions all of the time; so, she can email them in Chinese and then include a rough translation if she wants just in case. Regarding the nominator, we're all WP:VOLUNTEERs, so sometimes editing goes in ebbs and flows based upon WP:BUSY. Contacting you first might have been possible, but you would've basically given the same answer, right? What you've posted is almost certainly true, but once again insufficient (at least in my opinion) for licensing verification purposes; so, it most likely would've ended up at FFD or tagged for speedy deletion anyways. FWIW, the nominator B is an administrator on Wikipedia and a license reviewer on Commons which means we're not talking about someone new who's unfamiliar with the relevant image licensing policies and guidelines of both projects. Of course, anyone can make a mistake, but I don't see that to be the case here. The file could've been tagged with Template:npd instead per WP:F11, but the nominator choose FFD to at least seek out feedback from others. As I posted above, you can post in that discussion and at least explain you're working on getting proper permission from the copyright holder and doing so might lead a reviewing administrator to WP:RELIST the discussion to allow more time for things to be sorted out.
There's one more thing that you might consider and that would be to ask Lily to re-upload the file herself, but only this time to upload it directly to Commons. She can do this using c:COM:UPLOAD and there's a link at the top of that page which provides Chinese language support. She should do so in the highest resolution she feels comfortable with uploading using the original file data if possible (i.e., not something downloaded from a website and then re-uploaded to Commons, but the file she uploaded to Flickr). She then can use the "Interactive release generator" in c:COM:OTRS#Declaration of consent for all enquiries to finish the process. She will need to create an account to do this, but as I posted Commons is multi-lingual and there instructions, etc. on pretty much everything in Chinese. There's no 100% guarantee that someone on Commons won't still say there are issues with the file's licensing, but those shouldn't be difficult to resolve (assuming everything you've posted so far is true). If you and Lily do decide to go this route, the Wikipedia file will likely be deleted per WP:F8 and can be replaced by the Commons file on each page where the former was used. The image files you see used on Wikipedia are either uploaded to Wikimedia Commons for use by all Wikimedia Foundation projects or to Wikipedia for use on English Wikipedia only. You can pretty much use any images you find on Commons because it only accepts content which has been released under a free license or is licensed as public domain. Commons hosts many images of this type; so, perhaps you'll find a screenshot or some other image uploaded there that you'd like to use. However, album covers, movie/video screenshots, company logos, etc. uploaded to Wikipedia for local use only are typically licensed as non-free content, which means they cannot be used on user pages. -- Marchjuly ( talk) 21:31, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

Strange timetags on added signatures

I'm not sure of what you mean by "in the future". They are marked as UTC+9 and I don't think I did any thing different this time around from the previous times I've added Template:Unsigned. The diffs I looked at were Special:diff/Kvs15501/869885481 and Special:diff/Alvanhholmes/869908386; so, UTC+9 would be 18:41 (6:41 pm) and 22:25 (10:25 pm) which seems to be correct. What appeared on the Teahouse page after your edits were "09:41, 21 November 2018 (UTC)" and "13:25, 21 November 2018 (UTC)" (and these were in the future when you made your edits at 05:22 UTC and 05:25 UTC. The edits to which you were referring were at 00:41 UTC and 04:25 UTC respectively. If they were displayed to you as 09:41 (UTC+9) and 13:25 (UTC+9) you needed to subtract 9 hours from those to get to UTC. The documentation for Template:Unsigned does say that times have to be in UTC. The edits to which you were referring were at 00:41 UTC and 04:25 UTC respectively. If they were displayed to you as 09:41 (UTC+9) and 13:25 (UTC+9) you needed to subtract 9 hours from those to get to UTC. The documentation for Template:Unsigned does say that times have to be in UTC. I know that displays in different parts of Wikipedia can be temperamental dependent on preference settings. -- David Biddulph ( talk) 15:40, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
