I think this can be done under the rationale that it would be used “to illustrate the three-dimensional work of art in question”.

Hello!
I took as a personal task improving the page of Lev Gatovsky's. When I first saw it it only had a couple of assertions and a few references. Since then I have added a lot of content to the page. I left a comment in the talk of the page, included categories, marked several stud's, etc.
My question is, are there any other forms of flagging this article in a way that users that are interested in economics may help also? What are the best ways of making these article reach the max. of people? I would love to have some help!

Hello, I have a question about "original research". If I say in an article "the city's library has eleven branches" and then I cite a source that doesn't say that, but lists all the library's branches (and there are eleven of them) is that original research? So in this article The Stud (bar), there’s a pushpin map and a part that says “Coordinates: 37.772773°N 122.410058°W”, both of which are no longer accurate because the bar has moved. parameter. There's a link in the error message that will take to a page providing more details that you can click on if you want, but in this case the error seems to be with the date format you used. Wikipedia doesn't format dates using ordinal numbers (e.g. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.) in citations; so, if you change "April 1st 1999" to "April 1, 1999", the problem should be fixed. --

Hello! I'm de-orphaning articles, and I came across a page called List of people from Tehran. (Not de-orphaning this article, just wanting to add a orphan article to it)
At the top, the "this article needs citations" template message is there, but I'm curious why this type of article needs citations at all, as it just links to notable people from Tehran, where the sources for the people would be listed at their respective articles.

Mtaylor848 has unilaterally deleted 6,348 bytes - the majority of a section that evolved 2016/2017 - with the edit summary: "None of this is relevant to Shirebrook" (wl added). It refers to a major employer established from scratch, effectively replacing one defunct traditional employer with a much, much larger modern version, so IMO is relevant to the article. At least one admin whose username I recognise has regularly edited, allowing the same content.
In the absence of any further advice, I will assume the content (or majority) is correctly-sourced.

I have translated “Botswana” into 3 different languages (that I don’t speak, however I was able to put an info box and use a dictionary to put together a very very very short description) the languages were Hawaiian, Cheyenne, and Iñupiaq. So I just checked the “Did you know...” section on the front page of Wikipedia. And there is this interesting article: /info/en/?search=G299.2-2.9
But after I looked at its lead, there is something very odd about it. It says the object is 4,500 years old and 16,000 light years away from us. This doesn't make sense by the laws of physics for it to be visible in our sky. So I tried to check the source and looked for the number 16,000 but I couldn't find it. I attempted to fix two issues with citation on the page: List of Protestant missionary societies in China (1807–1953). First, the previous contributor had not used "re-use," so they had duplicated the same source. Second, they had not used the proper bibliographic format, citing an idiosyncratic title they must have made up instead of the actual title and other bibliograhic information. Then I ran into the problem that the newly formated citation I created shows only as a number, while the full citation appears only beneath the Further Reading section. I saw a notice about the format of the References block that had options between appearing only if one hovers over it or clicks on it. I'm not able to get back to that editing box, and even if I could I'm not sure it would fix the present problem. "Relisting" after an unsuccessful go-round last week, now archived.
As stated before, an article on Silas Bronson (1788-1867)-- Middlebury, Connecticut philanthropist, and the namesake of Waterbury's library (I used to live there)--has been on my to-do list for years, and has recently been up for grabs as my next AFC project. During yesterday's research, this next reference came up--but as it's from a publisher of already dubious notoriety, I doubt this will amount to anything worthwhile. (To say this may be the best-looking modern one outside the library's official site, which already counts as PRIMARY, might as well be an understatement.)
As I'm preparing this post--lo and behold!--a more promising alternative has caught our eye via Open Library.
Beyond that, more viable sources are needed; once again, calling on the S.S. Cunard ( talk · contribs) and WP:Connecticut for help. I'll update if I find more in the meantime. (From what I can tell, our sources have more hits on the library than the man himself; even Newspapers.com clippings from his lifespan [the vast majority of them] only amount to passing mentions at best. Perhaps we may try to refocus our mission on coverage of the library in due course?)
Also: Does it count as COI if I'm writing about the library as one of its former patrons? (Remember, I'm now a Florida resident.)

edit descriptionyou mean WP:EDITSUMMARY, then there's no way to change it once you've made the edit. You can, however, make what's called a WP:DUMMYEDIT to correct any errors you might've made in an previous edit summary. Dummy edits, however, tend to work best when you make them right away, and there are no interving edits between the edit summary you're correcting and the dummy edit itself. If too much time has passed and too many other edits have been made before making a dummy edit, it might actually be more confusing than helpful. I was checking the list of Honorary Fellows listed for Emmanuel College, Cambridge and noted that several of those listed on the Wikipedia page are not listed by the College (eg Andrew Fane and Sir Leslie Fielding). That suggests the Wikipedia list is out of date. I wonder if there ought to be a policy of stating the date the list was most recently updated on the public face of the page (rather than it being accessible from the talk page only accessible to editors). (Much of the content of Wikipedia is out of date - so I favour a general approach to inserting 'as at April 2024' when making an edit of something that is likely to change over time). I absolutely love making edits that are NPOV and encyclopedic. I used to struggle on writing with a neutral tone, (felt impossible) but after practicing for almost six months I've really started to understand it better.
Now when I see people writing things here or online that sound like fluffery, I seriously get sick to my stomach! Wikipedia hasn't been easy to learn, but its been fun and rewarding, and despite many 'biters' in the beginning, I am ultimately grateful for the scrutiny I faced on my earlier edits because It made me want to do better.

Hello, I've been trying to upload the images Obara_new_cover.jpg and Dare_Olaitan.jpg on Wikimedia. But, the images don't have a copyright license, and the images keep getting nominated for deletion. Just wondering about the "Views on articles you've edited" section on one's homepage. Above the number, it says "your recent activity (last 60 days)". Does this mean the view number is only within the last 60 days? Or is it all-time views? I'm also wondering this because my view number fluctuates.

I want to translate a Korean article ( https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EC%9C%A4%ED%9B%84%EB%8D%95) into English. The article is about a politician in the neighborhood I live in. I've been a user of Wikipedia at least since 2005, and it's only now that I've signed up to contribute. I have benefitted so much over the years from Wikipedia, and seeing many, many Korean articles missing English counterparts, I would like to participate in helping translate existing Korean-only articles and in time, contribute new articles that don't exist yet.
I somehow found the Content Translation tool, and loaded up the above link to get the WYSIWYG side-by-side translator page. But there is an error saying "Your translation cannot be published because publishing is only allowed to more experienced editors on this wiki." What is the threshold I need to meet or experience I need to get to be able to begin translating? Is there a certain number of edits I must do to be able to begin translating pages? Please advise. I have been in a debate with an editor regarding a topic which I have formal education in. The issue is that several reliable sources (interviews with doctors) have made statements about something that they are not experts in (the function ultrasound devices). The claim they are making is something that is literally impossible; I would know as I am a medical physics graduate student who has taken literal classes on how these devices work. I can show from various sources that it is (or at least should be) very clear that the claim being made by these doctors is not possible as the mechanisms these machines work with is incompatible with the statement. However, there are likely no sources at all (much less reliable ones) that explicitly state that this claim is false because. I, in essence, in the starting phases of WP:CHEESE.

I'm new here. Well, not quite new, I used to edit Wikipedia once with an account I lost access to years ago. Now I'm back with time on my hands, and really getting enjoying things so far. The Teahouse is a new feature to me, and there are lots more features I don't recognize, so I guess what I'm asking is about basic etiquette. Is there anything newbies shouldn't try? Is there a consensus about the number of edits a Wikipedia user should have to comment on noticeboards? There is an article where I helped to build the page for my wife (backed by over 100 sources), I accidentally had ticked a box that I was paid, which I am not. I asked within talk if I could sent the person proof of not being paid and never got an answer. Now half a year later someone puts this disclaimer again above the article, ignoring that I can proof it within talk. Also my wife has been victim of activist groups that have tried to intimidate her for doing research on Indonesia, on such a level that the National History Association in the Netherlands issued a statement against them. It can very well be that the anonymous people who place the “UPE”tags are from this groups. As one of the persons on the talk page on the Dutch Wikipedia site of Anne-Lot Hoek also worked on the pages related to those activist groups. Who can help to get this tag removed (again)? Hello, I have been reading different Wikipedia policies for a while now, and it occurred to me that there might be a difference between a subject being notable and it having reliable sources. Is it the right understanding? if so, could we say about an influencer or any other subject, is notable, however, the lack reliable sources? The reason I am asking these questions, is there are many pages on Wikipedia, which have almost zero references, still they are in live space.
If the above understanding is correct, what should be done with such page?

I added more information to a stub for a class project. I left the original info and added before and after it and cited all proper resources. I went to publish and it dismissed it saying it was unconstructive so i sent in a report, but it is saying the title cannot be found or does not exist. What do I do? If you can quote a person who holds that opinion, then - properly quoted and cited - it can appear in an article. I was involved in an AfD decision recently that I feel had emerging consensus around a Keep !vote but the closing admin chose instead to Merge. If anything, I think this was premature at least and that more !votes were coming in still in support of a keep of the page, and the merge view was in the minority and not soundly based on policy. How might I go about appealing this other than already posting on the closing admins talk page?
The AfD in question was very well supported by reliable sources that did absolutely distinguish between the term the page referred to and another similar term. I am not familiar with the process of an appeal, if there is one, but I do not think this particular decision accurately reflects the consensus that appeared as a result of the AfD. @ Ohfallingstar has been undoing this sentence on the page " Leslie Cheung", for its "disrespectful""gossip" though China News Service is a reliable source (see first undo, second undo' and third). As a conjecture on the cause of Leslie Cheung's death, I think it should stay on the page. What do you every wikipedians think?

I recently read an article ( WeatherStar) which contains a quote from an incident where a broadcast machine was tampered with. The quote contains a racial slur, and despite the MOS saying that quotes should always contain obscenities exactly as the quote was said, I can't help but think it's inappropriate to have the uncensored quote on a page where it really wouldn't be expected to see language like that. Just to get it out of the way: I am not this individual nor do I know him, I found him through his level design work and found out about his musical work from this article.
The page is poorly sourced but given that:
1.) this individual was in two bands who have undisputed Wikipedia articles,
2.) other members in both bands have undisputed Wikipedia articles,
3.) this individual founded a software company making quake mods that were distributed physically by PC Gamer magazine (this company alone is probably notable)
4.) this individual composed the theme music to an official Valve title
5.) this individual created levels for another official Valve title, as well as having worked for multiple other game studios including some that the article does not mention
6.) this individual created music videos for Tesseract
I think removing the "may not meet notability" tag from 2015 should be uncontroversial. The article itself needs a lot of work, but I don't think the notability is in dispute at all. I'm not an experienced editor and I'd like a second opinion on this, because its hard to tell if the notability guidelines are met, but my intuition says the game work alone is notable. I do think the article lacks third party sources (partially because Valve did not credit its employees on Day of Defeat: Source for some reason), but I don't know if that needs to be fixed before the tag is removed. Hi! When you input coordinates in an infobox (for example for a building), it automatically generates a simple map of the location with a pin. Is there a way do this same process outside of an infobox? I'm working on an article on an event and it would make a lot of sense to have a map like this in the "Location" section. I've found an article about a historical figure which features an AI generated image. The image isn't an upscaled version of a real image, but was generated based on descriptions of the historical figure. Non-free content is used only where no free equivalent is available, or could be created, that would serve the same encyclopedic purpose. Since the current image is free (public domain) in order to use any non-free image in that article, you would have to argue that this image does not serve the same encyclopaedic purpose as the one you wanted to use - and I think you would find this hard.

Hello! Over the past few months I've been improving articles related to RTD's light rail stations almost all of which are stubs. On the I-25 & Broadway station page, I've added sections about history and public art, added more text and a diagram to the station layout section, and in the infobox I've added a map insert as well as updating ridership data from 2014 to the most recent I could find online (2019). While the article still has a long way to go, I believe it should be upgraded from stub class to start class. Trying to get Hypericum sechmenii as TFA at the moment, and have just had a breakthrough in getting a freely licensed image for the run. I've been reaching out to different field researchers who may have images for several years, and for the first time I got a response. Not only did he release the one I was hoping for, but sent me several never-before-seen images as well! He said he would love to have them in the article, as long as he and his fellow colleagues are attributed. However, I don't want to link to the conversation on ResearchGate, because my personal info is attached to it. Hi! For the page "List of Gay Villages," anon users keep adding the "East Village of Des Moines, Iowa" onto the list. However, this is not a "Gay Village." For their citation they use a website that has outdated information and doesn't even refer to the neighborhood as a Gay Village. I remove it from the list but two anon users keep adding it back. Also, I started a discussion on the Talk page but they either A) Delete my discussion or B) Edit my discussion so what I say is in their favor.

Earlier today I posted a proposal at the Village Pump but being a newbie there, I didn't realize till much later that I put it in the wrong section. I created a topic at the Village Pump with two original images of mine. Then I deleted and replaced that file with a new version, which includes a new image. But the other two images seem to still be "alive," because when I clicked on a version of them in MS Word, I was taken to copies on the Internet.

I appreciate any and all help. A week ago, an article that I created for Francesco Sapori was marked as having a copyright investigation for a violation of copyright. Unfortunately, this appears to be an error on the behalf of the editor. The website that is linked to as having a copyright problem does not contain any information about Sapori, no information from that site was used, and the report created by Earwig's Copyvio Detector notes there is a 0.0% chance of a violation. Again, the page that was linked to for a copyright violation had no content related to Sapori. I think the page was flagged by accident because it was new. I have attempted to contact the editor who marked the page for deletion due to copyright infringement, but it has been nearly a week and they haven't responded. The entire page is set to be deleted tomorrow, and I currently don't have the ability to copy over the text that I wrote.

Hey just, general question, if an editor consistently and summarily dismisses all conflicting opinions to theirs as 'twitter nonsense', deems any arguments contrary to their editorial opinion as wikilawyering despite none of the behaviors on the wikilawyering essay being even remotely approached, accuses other editors of bigotry against a country's people when they cite a human rights report on that country's government in evaluating the weight to give a statement from that government, randomly makes similar accusations even outside of those circumstances, says they'll take the next editor who cites that human rights report to ARBCOM, and in general makes consistent demands that editors that disagree with their ideas (such as on whether to use a primary source with a heavy conflict of interest to exclude reliably sourced and weighted dissenting viewpoints for instance) drop their disputing points or take them to twitter for no visible reason other than that they don't like it; does that fall afoul of anything in the realm of civility? My SVG has glitched because I don't know, I just used a mapchart map of 1830 to make my US flag map from 1822 to 1836, And I masked the flag, However, The SVG became invisible, the problem is so hard to fix that I just gave up. I asked some people to help me on Stack Overflow, They gave me some tips on how to fix it, It didn't work. So you guys are the only hope for me to fix it. I ask in regards to TM103: Hustlerz Ambition, would it be possible to have the page located at TM103 Hustlerz Ambition and use {{ display title}} to have the level 1 header on the page say TM:103 Hustlerz Ambition? I understand [[TM:]] is a shortcut to the template namespace.

I was editing this page Blue Train (South Africa) and came across different data in two different reliable citations. CNN ( https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/luxury-train-travel/index.html) states 27 hours travel duration and Business Insider Africa states 31 hours travel duration ( https://africa.businessinsider.com/news/the-best-luxury-train-rides-in-2024/gc7lrsp)
CNN is an older citation from 2016 and Business Insider Africa is a newer citation from 2024. Would it be better if I change the duration mentioned on the page from 27 to 31 hours since the newer citation should be updated? My assumption and logic here is that the latest citation will be more accurate.

I wrote Draft:Designated Reserves (Czech Republic) which was rejected by User talk:TheTechie for not meeting WP:NOTGUIDE. In one part of the article, I painstaikingly summarized/translated the prescribed requirements of the training courses. The idea being of having it prepared in way that will allow direct and meaningful comparison with similar future articles about similar systems in other countries (e.g. Lithuania, Estonia, etc.).

I took as a personal task improving the page of Lev Gatovsky's. When I first saw it it only had a couple of assertions and a few references. Since then I have added a lot of content to the page. I left a comment in the talk of the page, included categories, marked several stud's, etc.
My question is, are there any other forms of flagging this article in a way that users that are interested in economics may help also? What are the best ways of making these article reach the max. of people? I would love to have some help!

If I say in an article "the city's library has eleven branches" and then I cite a source that doesn't say that, but lists all the library's branches (and there are eleven of them) is that original research? So in this article The Stud (bar), there’s a pushpin map and a part that says “Coordinates: 37.772773°N 122.410058°W”, both of which are no longer accurate because the bar has moved. parameter. There's a link in the error message that will take to a page providing more details that you can click on if you want, but in this case the error seems to be with the date format you used. Wikipedia doesn't format dates using ordinal numbers (e.g. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.) in citations; so, if you change "April 1st 1999" to "April 1, 1999", the problem should be fixed. --

Mtaylor848 has unilaterally deleted 6,348 bytes - the majority of a section that evolved 2016/2017 - with the edit summary: "None of this is relevant to Shirebrook" (wl added). It refers to a major employer established from scratch, effectively replacing one defunct traditional employer with a much, much larger modern version, so IMO is relevant to the article. At least one admin whose username I recognise has regularly edited, allowing the same content.
In the absence of any further advice, I will assume the content (or majority) is correctly-sourced.

I have translated “Botswana” into 3 different languages (that I don’t speak, however I was able to put an info box and use a dictionary to put together a very very very short description) the languages were Hawaiian, Cheyenne, and Iñupiaq. But after I looked at its lead, there is something very odd about it. It says the object is 4,500 years old and 16,000 light years away from us. I attempted to fix two issues with citation on the page: List of Protestant missionary societies in China (1807–1953). First, the previous contributor had not used "re-use," so they had duplicated the same source. Second, they had not used the proper bibliographic format, citing an idiosyncratic title they must have made up instead of the actual title and other bibliograhic information. Then I ran into the problem that the newly formated citation I created shows only as a number, while the full citation appears only beneath the Further Reading section. I saw a notice about the format of the References block that had options between appearing only if one hovers over it or clicks on it. I'm not able to get back to that editing box, and even if I could I'm not sure it would fix the present problem. As stated before, an article on Silas Bronson (1788-1867)-- Middlebury, Connecticut philanthropist, and the namesake of Waterbury's library (I used to live there)--has been on my to-do list for years, and has recently been up for grabs as my next AFC project. During yesterday's research, this next reference came up--but as it's from a publisher of already dubious notoriety, I doubt this will amount to anything worthwhile. (To say this may be the best-looking modern one outside the library's official site, which already counts as PRIMARY, might as well be an understatement.)
As I'm preparing this post--lo and behold!--a more promising alternative has caught our eye via Open Library.
Beyond that, more viable sources are needed; once again, calling on the S.S. Cunard ( talk · contribs) and WP:Connecticut for help. I'll update if I find more in the meantime. (From what I can tell, our sources have more hits on the library than the man himself; even Newspapers.com clippings from his lifespan [the vast majority of them] only amount to passing mentions at best. Perhaps we may try to refocus our mission on coverage of the library in due course?)
Also: Does it count as COI if I'm writing about the library as one of its former patrons? (Remember, I'm now a Florida resident.)

edit descriptionyou mean WP:EDITSUMMARY, then there's no way to change it once you've made the edit. You can, however, make what's called a WP:DUMMYEDIT to correct any errors you might've made in an previous edit summary. Dummy edits, however, tend to work best when you make them right away, and there are no interving edits between the edit summary you're correcting and the dummy edit itself. I was checking the list of Honorary Fellows listed for Emmanuel College, Cambridge and noted that several of those listed on the Wikipedia page are not listed by the College (eg Andrew Fane and Sir Leslie Fielding). That suggests the Wikipedia list is out of date. I wonder if there ought to be a policy of stating the date the list was most recently updated on the public face of the page (rather than it being accessible from the talk page only accessible to editors). I absolutely love making edits that are NPOV and encyclopedic. I used to struggle on writing with a neutral tone, (felt impossible) but after practicing for almost six months I've really started to understand it better.
Now when I see people writing things here or online that sound like fluffery, I seriously get sick to my stomach! Wikipedia hasn't been easy to learn, but its been fun and rewarding, and despite many 'biters' in the beginning, I am ultimately grateful for the scrutiny I faced on my earlier edits because It made me want to do better.

I want to translate a Korean article ( https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EC%9C%A4%ED%9B%84%EB%8D%95) into English. The article is about a politician in the neighborhood I live in. I've been a user of Wikipedia at least since 2005, and it's only now that I've signed up to contribute. I have benefitted so much over the years from Wikipedia, and seeing many, many Korean articles missing English counterparts, I would like to participate in helping translate existing Korean-only articles and in time, contribute new articles that don't exist yet.
I somehow found the Content Translation tool, and loaded up the above link to get the WYSIWYG side-by-side translator page. But there is an error saying "Your translation cannot be published because publishing is only allowed to more experienced editors on this wiki." What is the threshold I need to meet or experience I need to get to be able to begin translating? Is there a certain number of edits I must do to be able to begin translating pages? Please advise. I have been in a debate with an editor regarding a topic which I have formal education in. The issue is that several reliable sources (interviews with doctors) have made statements about something that they are not experts in (the function ultrasound devices). The claim they are making is something that is literally impossible; I would know as I am a medical physics graduate student who has taken literal classes on how these devices work. I can show from various sources that it is (or at least should be) very clear that the claim being made by these doctors is not possible as the mechanisms these machines work with is incompatible with the statement. However, there are likely no sources at all (much less reliable ones) that explicitly state that this claim is false because. I, in essence, in the starting phases of WP:CHEESE.

There is an article where I helped to build the page for my wife (backed by over 100 sources), I accidentally had ticked a box that I was paid, which I am not. I asked within talk if I could sent the person proof of not being paid and never got an answer. Now half a year later someone puts this disclaimer again above the article, ignoring that I can proof it within talk. Also my wife has been victim of activist groups that have tried to intimidate her for doing research on Indonesia, on such a level that the National History Association in the Netherlands issued a statement against them. It can very well be that the anonymous people who place the “UPE”tags are from this groups. As one of the persons on the talk page on the Dutch Wikipedia site of Anne-Lot Hoek also worked on the pages related to those activist groups. Who can help to get this tag removed (again)? Hello, I have been reading different Wikipedia policies for a while now, and it occurred to me that there might be a difference between a subject being notable and it having reliable sources. Is it the right understanding? if so, could we say about an influencer or any other subject, is notable, however, the lack reliable sources? The reason I am asking these questions, is there are many pages on Wikipedia, which have almost zero references, still they are in live space.
If the above understanding is correct, what should be done with such page?

I was involved in an AfD decision recently that I feel had emerging consensus around a Keep !vote but the closing admin chose instead to Merge. If anything, I think this was premature at least and that more !votes were coming in still in support of a keep of the page, and the merge view was in the minority and not soundly based on policy. How might I go about appealing this other than already posting on the closing admins talk page?
The AfD in question was very well supported by reliable sources that did absolutely distinguish between the term the page referred to and another similar term. What is the best or correct way to mention that someone's surname has changed in the body of an article? Here is the sentence I'm looking at, as it stands now: "Yoda was originally portrayed by a puppet created by Stuart Freeborn and Wendy Froud (née Midener)." Is this the best way to do it? I'm working on the Yoda page and I want to re-use a citation that is in the infobox. It's right after the words "Jedi Order". I'm using the visual editor, and when I click "Re-use" in the citation creator, the citation I want doesn't show up. Can someone tell me how to re-use that citation? @ Ohfallingstar has been undoing this sentence on the page " Leslie Cheung", for its "disrespectful""gossip" though China News Service is a reliable source (see first undo, second undo' and third). As a conjecture on the cause of Leslie Cheung's death, I think it should stay on the page. What do you every wikipedians think?

I'm wondering if there's any sort of proper procedure to censor quotes.
I recently read an article ( WeatherStar) which contains a quote from an incident where a broadcast machine was tampered with. The quote contains a racial slur, and despite the MOS saying that quotes should always contain obscenities exactly as the quote was said, I can't help but think it's inappropriate to have the uncensored quote on a page where it really wouldn't be expected to see language like that. I really didn't expect to have to explain why I showed my friend an article including the hard R(particularly since there exists a stand-alone Wikipedia article about the slur in question), but you can also seek additional input from relevant WikiProjects if you like as long as you do so in accordance with WP:APPNOTE. I have been editing MN 36 for a bit and I have found the law that established the highway - [10], that I want to use to replace the self-published source in the infobox and to cite the date in the history section. How are you supposed to tell the difference between if something is promotional or not? Like this excerpt: "According to Star Tribune in 2015, the project resulted in a 70 percent increase in walking in the city, smoking decreasing by 4 percent, and participants in the program losing a combined 4 tons of weight. Just to get it out of the way: I am not this individual nor do I know him, I found him through his level design work and found out about his musical work from this article.
The page is poorly sourced but given that:
1.) this individual was in two bands who have undisputed Wikipedia articles,
2.) other members in both bands have undisputed Wikipedia articles,
3.) this individual founded a software company making quake mods that were distributed physically by PC Gamer magazine (this company alone is probably notable)
4.) this individual composed the theme music to an official Valve title
5.) this individual created levels for another official Valve title, as well as having worked for multiple other game studios including some that the article does not mention
6.) this individual created music videos for Tesseract
I think removing the "may not meet notability" tag from 2015 should be uncontroversial. The article itself needs a lot of work, but I don't think the notability is in dispute at all. I'm not an experienced editor and I'd like a second opinion on this, because its hard to tell if the notability guidelines are met, but my intuition says the game work alone is notable. I do think the article lacks third party sources (partially because Valve did not credit its employees on Day of Defeat: Source for some reason), but I don't know if that needs to be fixed before the tag is removed. Hi! When you input coordinates in an infobox (for example for a building), it automatically generates a simple map of the location with a pin. Is there a way do this same process outside of an infobox? I'm working on an article on an event and it would make a lot of sense to have a map like this in the "Location" section. I've found an article about a historical figure which features an AI generated image. The image isn't an upscaled version of a real image, but was generated based on descriptions of the historical figure. She does not look like herself AT ALL in that picture or like her character Helen Crump from The Andy Griffith Show. It’s almost like someone purposely picked the worst picture of her ever. Non-free content is used only where no free equivalent is available, or could be created, that would serve the same encyclopedic purpose. Since the current image is free (public domain) in order to use any non-free image in that article, you would have to argue that this image does not serve the same encyclopaedic purpose as the one you wanted to use - and I think you would find this hard.

I think this article needs to exist due to the fact that it is the newest and most modern state school in South East Queensland (from what I'm aware, atleast), and there isn't an article for the school yet, while there is for most of the other state schools in South East Queensland.
It has also received many awards and is the most modern state school I've seen in Australia.

Hello! Over the past few months I've been improving articles related to RTD's light rail stations almost all of which are stubs. On the I-25 & Broadway station page, I've added sections about history and public art, added more text and a diagram to the station layout section, and in the infobox I've added a map insert as well as updating ridership data from 2014 to the most recent I could find online (2019). While the article still has a long way to go, I believe it should be upgraded from stub class to start class. Hello all, Dank referred me here and said you may be able to help. Trying to get Hypericum sechmenii as TFA at the moment, and have just had a breakthrough in getting a freely licensed image for the run. I've been reaching out to different field researchers who may have images for several years, and for the first time I got a response. Not only did he release the one I was hoping for, but sent me several never-before-seen images as well! He said he would love to have them in the article, as long as he and his fellow colleagues are attributed. However, I don't want to link to the conversation on ResearchGate, because my personal info is attached to it. Hi! For the page "List of Gay Villages," anon users keep adding the "East Village of Des Moines, Iowa" onto the list. However, this is not a "Gay Village." For their citation they use a website that has outdated information and doesn't even refer to the neighborhood as a Gay Village. I remove it from the list but two anon users keep adding it back. Also, I started a discussion on the Talk page but they either A) Delete my discussion or B) Edit my discussion so what I say is in their favor.

Earlier today I posted a proposal at the Village Pump but being a newbie there, I didn't realize till much later that I put it in the wrong section. I didn't even know at the time that there were different sections at the VP. Now I do, and I'd like to move my proposal to the right section, the one eponymously called Proposals. But I can't find it anywhere. According to my Contributions listing, it's in the WMF section, but it isn't. Help, please!

I created a topic at the Village Pump with two original images of mine. Then I deleted and replaced that file with a new version, which includes a new image. But the other two images seem to still be "alive," because when I clicked on a version of them in MS Word, I was taken to copies on the Internet.

Since you're the person who uploaded the files, you don't really need to notify yourself,As for your other questions, all four files are attributed to your account, which means either you or someone using your account uploaded them. Is it possible you just don't remember uploading the oldest one? Is it possible that you let someone else use your account to upload the file? It's also the main reason why only files hosted for less than seven days are eligible for author-requested speedy deletion; the idea is to give uploaders some time to correct mistakes or change their minds while also reducing that chances of the file being heavily used by others. You need to understand that once you upload something to Commons
it can pretty remain there forever as long as it falls within Commons' Scope. The ability to self-nominate your uploads for speedy deletion is of more of courtesy than anything else. --

If I was to add template data, ( Template:Infobox Uniform Crime Reports is in mind), do I have to worry about breaking the template on mainspace articles? I assume that changing the requirement status and data type would break stuff, but would changing the name or aliases do anything? Is there an in-depth tutorial about this?

I'm editing List of cathedrals in the United States. I can't upload photos obviously, for i can't take the only available photos in internet or social media. It's much hard too that i can't cite my source or be able to place the integrates of the locations i'm trying to enter in this list. I don't think i'll be ever able to place fully the details i'm trying to enter, so i hope anyone who can place the citations and integrates may be too kind to do it instead for me. What counts as something not being notable enough? My draft (Draft: Federal Alliance of Eastern Sudan) was declined due to not meeting notability guidelines, but I thought it was. Am I wrong? I appreciate any and all help. A week ago, an article that I created for Francesco Sapori was marked as having a copyright investigation for a violation of copyright. Unfortunately, this appears to be an error on the behalf of the editor. The website that is linked to as having a copyright problem does not contain any information about Sapori, no information from that site was used, and the report created by Earwig's Copyvio Detector notes there is a 0.0% chance of a violation. Again, the page that was linked to for a copyright violation had no content related to Sapori. I think the page was flagged by accident because it was new. I have attempted to contact the editor who marked the page for deletion due to copyright infringement, but it has been nearly a week and they haven't responded. The entire page is set to be deleted tomorrow, and I currently don't have the ability to copy over the text that I wrote.

Hello, I have a question about frequent location changes. This summer, I plan on traveling to many places. I like to edit Wikipedia during my trip. I understand that my IP address will change when I move from place to place. Will it be possible for me to continue editing Wikipedia despite the frequent changes in my location? I recently reviewed the page referenced above (Walkerton e-coli) and was surprised to see no reference to changes in provincial water testing that privatized testing and which impacted early detection of the source of contamination. https://www.archives.gov.on.ca/en/e_records/walkerton/report1/pdf/WI_Summary.pdf i also note that the page references 2000 cases when the official report states at least 2300. The page was last edited May 3, 2024 for an event dating from 2000. The Inquiry document referenced here dates from 2002. Hey just, general question, if an editor consistently and summarily dismisses all conflicting opinions to theirs as 'twitter nonsense', deems any arguments contrary to their editorial opinion as wikilawyering despite none of the behaviors on the wikilawyering essay being even remotely approached, accuses other editors of bigotry against a country's people when they cite a human rights report on that country's government in evaluating the weight to give a statement from that government, randomly makes similar accusations even outside of those circumstances, says they'll take the next editor who cites that human rights report to ARBCOM, and in general makes consistent demands that editors that disagree with their ideas (such as on whether to use a primary source with a heavy conflict of interest to exclude reliably sourced and weighted dissenting viewpoints for instance) drop their disputing points or take them to twitter for no visible reason other than that they don't like it; does that fall afoul of anything in the realm of civility? Just came to this user saqib created 200+ articles with Autopatrolled rights only with two lines (alosmost all articles) and most of them are not properly cited. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and hundred more.

What is the mechanism to make it collapsible, please? Where, if at all, is it documented? If someone could tell me how to invoke it, I would then be happy to add a documentation note if required.

My SVG has glitched because I don't know, I just used a mapchart map of 1830 to make my US flag map from 1822 to 1836, And I masked the flag, However, The SVG became invisible, the problem is so hard to fix that I just gave up. I asked some people to help me on Stack Overflow, They gave me some tips on how to fix it, It didn't work. So you guys are the only hope for me to fix it. I ask in regards to TM103: Hustlerz Ambition, would it be possible to have the page located at TM103 Hustlerz Ambition and use {{ display title}} to have the level 1 header on the page say TM:103 Hustlerz Ambition? I understand [[TM:]] is a shortcut to the template namespace.

I was editing this page Blue Train (South Africa) and came across different data in two different reliable citations. CNN ( https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/luxury-train-travel/index.html) states 27 hours travel duration and Business Insider Africa states 31 hours travel duration ( https://africa.businessinsider.com/news/the-best-luxury-train-rides-in-2024/gc7lrsp)
CNN is an older citation from 2016 and Business Insider Africa is a newer citation from 2024. Would it be better if I change the duration mentioned on the page from 27 to 31 hours since the newer citation should be updated? My assumption and logic here is that the latest citation will be more accurate.

I wrote Draft:Designated Reserves (Czech Republic) which was rejected by User talk:TheTechie for not meeting WP:NOTGUIDE. In one part of the article, I painstaikingly summarized/translated the prescribed requirements of the training courses. The idea being of having it prepared in way that will allow direct and meaningful comparison with similar future articles about similar systems in other countries (e.g. Lithuania, Estonia, etc.).
