Hello, Verbarson. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, " GWR oil burning steam locomotives".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 22:07, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
Hi, I see that you have created GWR 3400 Class. The problem is that there was no such thing. Altogether, the GWR and BR (Western Region) had three locomotives numbered 3400, and none of them was either the initial locomotive of a class, nor the first of a batch, these being the usual criteria for selection of a class number.
The first was no. 3400 Durban of the Atbara class, being the eighth locomotive of Swindon Lot 126 - the entire Lot was numbered 3393-3412, total 20 built 1901. Ten of these, nos. 3400-9, were rebuilt to the City class between 1902 and 1909, no. 3400 being dealt with during 1907. At the 1912 renumbering, no. 3400 became no. 3700.
The second was no. 3462 Winnipeg of the Bulldog (or Camel) class, being the tenth locomotive of Swindon Lot 148 - the entire Lot was nos. 3453-72, total 20 built 1904. At the 1912 renumbering, no. 3462 became no. 3400. This locomotive was withdrawn in 1949.
The third was no. 3400 of the 9400 (or 94xx) class, being the eleventh locomotive of Lot 387 - nos. 9490-9 and 3400-9, total 20 built 1954-56.
Hope this helps. -- Redrose64 🌹 ( talk) 19:57, 2 April 2023 (UTC)

Quite by chance I read a couple of things about the use of railway arches in London today, in a recent edition of The London Drinker (which is an official CAMRA publication with full editorial oversight and, to my mind, counts as a reliable source). This is a note to remind me to re-read these pieces and add them to the draft, which is on my watchlist. They weren't very substantial, but everything helps! I believe all past editions of The London Drinker are viewable on a website somewhere; if they are also searchable, that might help even more...!
