Hello, Shantavira, and Happy New Year.
I liked your quote on the Ref Desk so much that I've added it to my Favourite quotes. But I promise never to quote it anyone. Best regards. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 03:19, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
I was surprised no one responded to your question. And you seem to know Wikipedia as well as I do, or better. Still, I recently started looking for unanswered questions that were several days old, and I offered my opinion. Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 19:02, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi Shantavira. I hope you don't mind, but I made a couple of tweaks to your nascent canal articles. Wikipedia is international, so I added "England" to Birmingham, as not everyone who reads will know where Birmingham is. I have also added imperial units using the comvert template, in two formats. I think they need some more precise dates, rather than 18th and 19th centuries. We know the old main line was built between 1768 and 1772, for instance, which is more precise. You are also going to need refs for the facts, with a references section. Even though they are quite small at the moment, I would add an Infobox (have a look at other canal articles and copy one if you are not sure how to do it), and I would search on Wikimedia Commons for an image for each article. If you cannot find one there, the Geograph project is quite good, and if they have an image which is not on Commons, it can be transferred. I hope this helps. If anything is not clear, please respond! Keep up the good work. Bob1960evens ( talk) 11:02, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks for your many new articles on the canals around Birmingham and the Black Country. I think you need to look again at the date of the Spon Lane Locks Branch which is part of the original and oldest canal to/from Birmingham. I have made some rambling notes on its talk page. Well done for spotting the OS benchmark stud. I saw it for the first time last week and failed to photograph it. My feet were sore at the time. Best wishes. Oosoom Talk 16:28, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

I see you upload photos as well as being active in canal articles. Whilst completely up to you, could I suggest that you look into putting your photos on Wikimedia Commons (site Wikimedia Commons) instead. This makes them available to all the other language Wikipedias instantly and also allows tham to be categorised so that they can more easily be found (something not done on en.Wikipedia). It is quite satisfying to see one's pictures in an article in a foreign language. You would be their foreign correspondent! Oosoom Talk 14:26, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
Hi, I notice you have moved the BCN template from the bottom of a few of the BCN articles. I cannot find any discussion on such a change, and since there are hundreds of canal articles all with a similar template at the botton, wondered what your logic is. It is a particular problem on the BCN articles because many are too short to make it hide itself. Regards. Bob1960evens ( talk) 19:59, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
Twice in one day! I see you have put a merge tag on the Coalport Canal article, but think it should be merged with Shropshire Canal, not Shropshire Union Canal, since it was part of the first, and was in terminal decline by the time the SU bought out the Shropshire. I have altered it accordingly. Cheers. Bob1960evens ( talk) 20:15, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
Hi. I see you recently edited the aricle 4-12-2 to change a wikilink from Gresley Conjugated Valve Gear (each word capitalized) to Gresley conjugated valve gear (only the designer's name capitalized). Since the first version redirects to the second, there's no need to make this kind of change: see WP:REDIRECT#NOTBROKEN. In this case, it probably wasn't harmful but it does fill people's watchlists with edits that don't actually change anything. Dricherby ( talk) 17:37, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed you have made edits to a few disambiguation pages citing del non-articles per WP:D3 in your edit summary. But some of your edits have also remove legitimate entries for the pages. WP:D3 is only meant to be a summary of WP:Disambiguation and WP:MOSDAB and it is not comprehensive. In particular, it does not actually say that "non-article" entries should be removed. Please see WP:DABMENTION and WP:DABRL for more details on legitimate entries that don't have articles. older ≠ wiser 16:12, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited St Gabriel's Church, Canning Town, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Iron church ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello Shantavira,
Did Sangharakshita (or his estate) revoke permission to use Sangharakshita's essay on Conze? I found it curious that it was suddenly removed when it was, at Jayarava's instigation. I intend to contribute to the Wikipedia page, though I was quite content with the entry as you had created it.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot ( talk) 09:12, 7 June 2019 (UTC)
Best regards, Lodru Lodru ( talk) 01:03, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Adele W. Paxson, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Conservationist ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).

I see you have self-identified as a backpacker by using the ”This user enjoys backpacking” userbox. I invite you to join the backpacking project. It recently reactivated. There is plenty of good work to do improving the encyclopedia’s coverage of backpacking equipment, organizations, celebrities, books, skills, and trails. The project provides a system to rate articles and prioritize editing efforts. Visit the project’s page, take a look, and please consider joining me in improving this articles and coverage of an activity we both enjoy.

Hi, I'm currently working on improving the stub "Europe, the Middle East and Africa" and noticed that the stub classification has been changed to "???". I'm just wondering what this exactly means and what I can do to improve the stub to get it to a 'start class' or higher classification?

You answered a question on Teahouse saying that the question the user asked had already been answered at the help desk, however you didn't provide a link. I"m wanting to do this myself as it is very helpful for what I"m doing at the moment (expanding the article SnowRunner), however since you didn't give the link I don't know the answer. Mind providing the link? Blaze The Wolf | Proud Furry and Wikipedia Editor ( talk) 20:00, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
In your edit of 14 March 2022 of this page you cited "no evidence of this cat". However, there was a reference to this in ref #5: https://buffalonews.com/news/women-to-remember-tour-of-forest-lawn-graves-unveils-pioneering-acts-of-11-remarkable-women/article_af05d9fe-13d5-5109-8090-581b857ed015.html BuffaloBob ( talk) 01:18, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
Hello! I hope this isn't weird, but I was utterly charmed that the link to your talk page in your signature reads "feed me" <3 Birdsinthewindow ( talk) 01:55, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
That's awesome! I didn't realize - thanks for clarifying :) Birdsinthewindow ( talk) 02:30, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

Re: this edit, policy specifically allows inclusion of such names on disambiguation pages. Note also that state supreme court justices are inherently notable, and will never be "nn". BD2412 T 17:24, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

just an additional question; since you talked about reviewing at the draft/articles for creation process, should i just transfer the published article to AfC or let it be until it gets approved/deleted (also, if the latter, how long before i know its status, i.e., approved or deleted?) Hello. I recognized your reply on the help desk to my request. I feel so ashamed that this article really has grammatical mistakes. Can you please help me to correct these grammatical mistakes on the Painkiller article and then I would feel absolutely satisfied. I really need some help. 2001:871:22:34CB:E8C1:881F:5848:2F5C ( talk) 09:49, 26 December 2022 (UTC)
Hey, Shantavira! I just noticed you specialize in article on Buddhism topics. A while back we had an extremely persistent editor who was pushing POV hard at multiple of these articles, mostly Buddhist scholars, teachers, masters, lamas, etc. Eventually they were indeffed. There aren't many active watchers at some of these articles, and I'm the opposite of an expert, just wanted to make you aware in case you stumble over an account created in the last two years doing this kind of stuff. You may be aware that the 'Featured Hosts' (whose names and pictures randomly cycle round in the Teahouse Header) has got a little out of date since I last sorted it out a year or two ago.
As you are currently one of the 30 most active editors at WP:TH, I have taken the liberty of adding your name and an image to replace that of an inactive host. But because you haven't yet added yourself to the full list of active hosts, I have chosen what I hope might be an acceptable image for you from your userpage (over the default picture of a cup of green tea). It would be great if you would now do two things:
