I am sorry to say that though I enjoyed the article, I could not pass it as it stands if I were to review it for GA. It is too unsubstantial; the lead is not comprehensive; several statements are speculative; there is quite a bit of editorial comment (e.g. "curtly stating"); statements are not followed up ("later would write a scornful play" but no details); and above all else there are only two paragraphs on Friele's productive career, and that, to my mind, falls well short of the GA standard for comprehensiveness. You may well disagree with me on some or all of these points, in which case you may prefer to await a GAN review by another editor, and I shall of course perfectly understand if you so opt. Hey, no big deal and anytime! Your English is actually very good; you only need to work a bit on the grammar, esp. verb conjugations and parallelisms. The morphology of Modern English is fairly simple (can't really say that about this one), albeit irregular and inflexible. If you'd like to improve your written English, I would recommend these webpages/books:

• Language and Communication by Per Lysvåg ( ISBN  978-82-03-33711-6, 2008); it is directed at Norwegian Upper Secondary schools, but it gives some very useful advise on the syntax, grammar and vocabulary of the English language. See its entry at Tanum; he has written quite a few books on English grammar, though I have only read Language and Communication.
• User:Tony1's exercises on good writing, esp. User:Tony1/How to improve your writing and User:Tony1/Noun plus -ing.
• The Internet Grammar of English – it assumes no prior knowledge of (English) grammar, and is very accessible.
• English Grammar at Wikibooks; extremely lay-friendly.

Having read the article I wonder if I might suggest that you allow me to copy edit it in advance of a GA review by someone else? It is a superb piece of work considering that you wrote it in a language not your own, but there are numerous turns of phrase that look strange to the native speaker, and momentarily distract one from the narrative. Hey Mark! Hope all is well. Yes, you do recall correctly: 'Due to' is adjectival and modifies a noun through a conjugated form of 'to be', whilst 'owing to' modifies all other verbs. What's with the horizontal bars over vowels? We didn't have them when I did Latin at school, though that was nearly fifty years ago. If you move on to ancient Greek I don't think we did accents there, though we did rough and smooth breathings. Your willingness to master languages fills me with admiration. I guess the horizontal bars are there to indicate that the vowels are long. I am currently learning Latin from a 1915 Norwegian textbook, and it features the bars, so I think it's rather a question of different schools of Latin than time frames. The bars can be quite vital: note the difference between ēst (he/she/it eats) and est (he/she/it is) or between mālum (an apple) and malum (an evil). If you have been here for seven years, I am curious to know why you would think it necessary to template a regular. Also, why art thou not more appreciative of my efforts to keep Wikipedia free for POV-pushing? This person has been trashing Norwegian BLPs with criticism sections, malformed citations and atrociously poor grammar for the last two years. See Harald Sunde (general) for an example. Why are you feeding the trolls? I have no idea as to why the SPI came up empty, but I can bet my house on that No parking here is a sock of Sju hav. The exactly same editing type: immediately after creating an account they start littering Norwegian BLPs with criticism sections and other manure. Just look at how hideous the bio for the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jonas Gahr Støre, looks after the editing sessions of the Sju hav socks.

If you take a look at the history of WT:NORWAY, you'll perhaps see why there is good reason to remove the trolling from the Sju hav socks. They have been spamming said talk page with their agenda against the Norwegian government. Take a look at this. With the help of meco, [1] [2] [3] they have been turning WT:NORWAY into a soapbox of grievances against the Norwegian government.

Rather than shooting the messenger – which you are currently doing – you should be more worried about the integrity of Wikipedia. Methinks you are a very poor Wikipedia editor, if you think it is more important to let trolls junk vital BLPs than to promote the NPOV ideal of Wikipedia.

Hi, I have started on another project, the Swedish language version of Wikipedia has an extensive article about Kvarstadbåtene, which covers a very interesting section of war-time history of both Sweden, Norway and the UK. I wrote the original article about the ships in the Norwegian language version of Wikipedia, but as the current Swedish is much better I have started to translate it all into Norwegian.

Hi there. I'll be finished with my exams this week, so the time should not be that a big problem. Alas, I'm not that into military history (the medals given to me by the milhist folks are solely due to my performing source reviews or very simple style & grammar checks, nothing else), so I don't think I'll have the inclination to translate it. As a user of the secure server, I ask you to stop breaking diff hyperlinks that are correctly fixed so that they do not take me and others like me to an insecure place. You are over-policing the idea of talk page comments being sacrosanct to an absurd and quite wrong degree. Wikignomes fix diff and oldid links, external links that should have been internal links, and absolute hyperlinks that should be relative and protocol-preserving hyperlinks, all of the time. Such things are not sacrosanct, and do not change meaning one whit. This is a wiki, and refactoring talk pages to fix markup and hyperlinks is the norm on wikis and has been all of these years. Sorry, I don't have any good alternative idea. I think "話して下さい" is a good candidate and a honorific version "お話し下さい" can also be used. The default signature of Japanese Wikipedia is "ユーザー(会話)" in Japanese Wikipedia. So, " Eisfbnore  ^(会話)"is one of the basic alternatives. Wow, that's very kind of you. I didn't even plan on re-joining WP (I left this place almost seven years ago, and have only checked in very rarely). Your Holocaust in Slovakia article is looking damn fine, and I hope it passes. I find it strange that there is no entry in the Slovak WP on the subject. However, in my native WP, the corresponding article was promoted to GA couple years ago. I can ask the main writer if he'd be willing to take a look at our article here. He is very knowledgeable about this ugly chapter of 20th-century history, and he seems to be working towards a Featured Topic. Stay vigilant, and stay indoors! I'm absolutely thrilled that you took the time and trouble to restore my work on the article about Yasujiro Ozu's masterpiece Late Spring. As you can see, in my original version, I included at least one source for practically every single statement I made in the piece, including facts that were not in dispute, so I had no idea why the other editor eviscerated the article on the grounds that it was "original research"!!!

At the time, I was not up to fighting with the editor who took a meat cleaver to it, feeling that he would only reverse my changes if I tried. I am so glad that you, as a third party, took my side! I'm particularly glad that you restored the following: a) the brief background on Kogo Noda and Setsuko Hara, whose contributions as writer and actress, respectively, were absolutely crucial to the film; b) the background information on the shomingeki genre, which is crucial to understanding the tradition in which the film is situated, and c) the passage on style, particularly the section about the vase scene, which is one of the most hotly debated (and mysterious) passages in all Japanese cinema.

Thank you again for bringing my article back from the dead!
