This is a note to let the main editors of Russell T Davies know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on April 27, 2013. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at all, please ask featured article director Raul654 ( talk · contribs) or one of his delegates ( Dabomb87 ( talk · contribs), Gimmetoo ( talk · contribs), and Bencherlite ( talk · contribs)), or start a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/requests. You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/April 27, 2013. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:
Russell T Davies (born 1963) is a Welsh television producer and screenwriter notable for the 2005 revival of the classic British science fiction series Doctor Who. Born in Swansea, Davies joined the BBC's children's department on a part-time basis in 1985 and eventually wrote two series for the network, Dark Season and Century Falls. As a freelance writer in the mid-1990s, Davies' early scripts explored concepts of religion and sexuality among various backdrops: Springhill was a soap drama about a Catholic family in contemporary Liverpool; The Grand explored society's opinion of contemporary subjects during the interwar period; and Queer as Folk, his first prolific series, recreated his experiences in the Manchester gay scene. Works during the 2000s include Bob & Rose, which portrayed a gay man who fell in love with a woman, The Second Coming, which focused on the second coming and deicide of Jesus Christ, and Casanova, an adaptation of the Venetian lover's complete memoirs. Davies became the executive producer of the revived Doctor Who series in 2005 and oversaw a surge in popularity that led to the production of two spin-off series: Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. Don't mess this up or become tense over it. I just plowed through the archives for a few mentions that back your assertions and tried to help. Taking a hardline is not in your interest, and I believe the 7 sources I mentioned help prove that your actions were not without considerable thought. You'd do well to strike or remove your confronting posts because not all editors see the content dispute and behavior as separate matters. Your behavior matters more then the content issue at this point, even if they are wrong, you want to move forward and not stay in the past. I added sources for the content dispute side, maybe an effective counter even, but that should be enough for future eyes to make a decision provided you don't become confrontational over the old issue. Request reason:
Edit for which I was blocked for was not in the scope of the topic ban, unless you're saying that I can't make any edits relating to the transphobic behaviour I have demonstrated exists; in which case, this feels more like a punitive block for speaking out against injustices. Just a brief comment on this edit you made to Jimbo's talk page: [2] (I replied there yesterday, but you may not have seen it.) You referred to the writer Julie Bindel making 'horrifically transphobic comments in The Observer' back in January; I believe you actually meant Julie Burchill. " The Stolen Earth" is the twelfth episode of the 2007–08 series and the 750th overall episode of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who, which marks its 50th anniversary on 23 November 2013. The episode was written by show runner and head writer Russell T Davies. It is the first of a two-part crossover story with spin-offs The Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood, concluding with " Journey's End", the finale of the fourth series, which brings closure to several prominent story arcs created under Davies. In the episode, contemporary Earth and 26 other planets are stolen by the Daleks. As the Doctor ( David Tennant, pictured) and his companion Donna Noble ( Catherine Tate) try to find Earth, his previous companions Jack Harkness ( John Barrowman), Martha Jones ( Freema Agyeman), Sarah Jane Smith ( Elisabeth Sladen), and Rose Tyler ( Billie Piper) convene to contact him and mount a defence against the Daleks. The episode was received positively by the audience and professional reviewers. It received one of the highest Audience Appreciation Index ratings for a television programme, and when first shown was the second most-watched programme of the week. ( Full article...)

December Notes from the
Guild of Copy Editors
The December blitz ran from December 8–14. The theme for this blitz was articles tied in some way to religion. Seven editors knocked out 20 articles over the course of the week. Our next blitz will be in February, with a theme to be determined. Feel free to make theme suggestions at the Guild talk page! Hi Sceptre. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Wikipedia, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. See Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. If you are interested, you might consider creating a page for a major city (or cities!) near you, with a list of LGBT-related articles that need to be created or improved. This would be a tremendous help to Wikipedia and coverage of LGBT culture and history. Thanks for your consideration, and please let me know if you have any questions! -- Another Believer ( Talk) 18:22, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
Hello Sceptre:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long
Backlog Elimination Drive!
The goal of this drive is to eliminate the backlog of unreviewed articles. The drive is running from June 1, 2014 to June 30, 2014.
Awards will be given out for all reviewers participating in the drive in the form of barnstars at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 2800 articles, so start reviewing articles! Visit the
drive's page and help out!
Please do not make edits to Wikipedia that reflect personal opinions/vendettas, or because of non-reputable sources, like you did at
2014 Isla Vista massacre. This is an encyclopedia that presents facts from reputable sources and unbiased views, not a blog page for opinions. Please do not remove links from articles again without considering why you are doing so. Thanks! Lord Laitinen (

Please stop - this is a ridiculously petty edit war. You are letting your personal biases get in the way of objective editing. Regardless of what Brown uses, "equal marriage" is a term used in British political discourse exclusively by proponents of same-sex marriage, and is thus NPOV. And quite apart from anything, it's not at all obvious what it means to someone not familiar with British politics. To repeat myself yet again: if you think it's notable that she uses this term in preference to the more neutral "gay marriage", add a sentence or two to the article saying so. Otherwise, leave it as it is - you do not own the article. Wereon ( talk) 12:53, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

This is a note to let the main editors of The Stolen Earth know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on November 23, 2013. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at all, please ask Bencherlite ( talk · contribs). You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/November 23, 2013. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. — Crisco 1492 ( talk) 05:48, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
