Would you happen to have any photos from Old World Wisconsin? I am working on a building list similar to what is in the Heritage Hill and Wade House articles and there really seems to be a dearth of images in commons. I may have to take my wife there and spend a day photographing the buildings. There are a LOT of buildings. I need to do some newpaper search and expand the history section also. Pretty sad article. I have some pictures that I took of the detail maps on some of the plaques around the park. How do you want me to send them to you? Nyth 63 18:39, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
I was looking at the Heritage Hill State Historical Park article and noticed the protected area template at the bottom. I was going to add it to the OWW article but noticed that site is not included in the template. I noticed that Wade house in not there either. Do I presume that it is because they are run by the WHS? This seems odd that for such similar sites both run by state agencies that one should be included but not the other. Are you aware if there has been a past discussion about including all the WHS sites in that template? Nyth 63 18:11, 10 July 2016 (UTC)

Hello, Royalbroil. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.
Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.
In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:
Please review
the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.

Hello,
Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. Hi Royalbroil.
A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.
It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.
If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins). MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 13:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

The article Roger S. Penske Jr. has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
fails WP:NSPORTS and essentially unsourced BLP.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.

You are invited to join the effort to revitalize and improve the Portal system.
The Portals WikiProject was rebooted on April 17th, and is going strong. Sixty-six editors have joined so far, with more joining daily. We're having a blast, and excitement is high...
Our goal is to update, upgrade, and maintain portals.
In addition to working directly on portals, we are developing tools to make portals more dynamic (self-updating), and to make building and maintaining portals easier. We've finished two tools so far, with more to come. They are Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.
Discussions are underway about how to further upgrade portals, and what the portals of the future will be.
There are plenty of tasks (including WikiGnome tasks too).
With more to come.
We may even surprise ourselves and exceed all expectations. Who knows what we will be able to accomplish in what may become the biggest Wikicollaboration in years.
See ya at the WikiProject!
Sincerely, — The Transhumanist 06:54, 4 May 2018 (UTC)

The RfC discussion to eliminate portals was closed May 12, with the statement "There exists a strong consensus against deleting or even deprecating portals at this time." This was made possible because you and others came to the rescue. Thank you for speaking up.
By the way, the current issue of the Signpost features an article with interviews about the RfC and the Portals WikiProject.
I'd also like to let you know that the Portals WikiProject is working hard to make sure your support of portals was not in vain. Toward that end, we have been working diligently to innovate portals, while building, updating, upgrading, and maintaining them. The project has grown to 80 members so far, and has become a beehive of activity.
Our two main goals at this time are to automate portals (in terms of refreshing, rotating, and selecting content), and to develop a one-page model in order to make obsolete and eliminate most of the 150,000 subpages from the portal namespace by migrating their functions to the portal base pages, using technologies such as selective transclusion. Please feel free to join in on any of the many threads of development at the WikiProject's talk page, or just stop by to see how we are doing. If you have any questions about portals or portal development, that is the best place to ask them.
If you would like to keep abreast of developments on portals, keep in mind that the project's members receive updates on their talk pages. The updates are also posted here, for your convenience.
Again, we can't thank you enough for your support of portals, and we hope to make you proud of your decision. Sincerely, — The Transhumanist 23:31, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

I've looked at the contribs, & it doesn't look all vandalism. I'm hoping you've got a better idea what to do with it. And on a personal note, I've been contesting the deletion of Doug Thorley with somebody who's seemed really stubborn, & now has gotten the delete nom relisted, just hours before it would otherwise have expired, with only one vote (his) in favor of deletion. Any thoughts? (I might have done better had I thought to ask before...) TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 06:07, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
In ref Google Books, this looks like it does the job. (Am I wrong? How I didn't find this to begin with... :( :( ) And this, tho (again) it just mentions Thorley in passing, suggests the contemporary coverage would have been there: a match race that includes Dyno Don & Gas Ronda, & shuts out Jungle Jim Liberman & the Paisano Brothers...but saying that requires specialized knowledge; without access to actual back issues of National Dragster, it's impossible to prove. This (or this, which has more text) seems to support the national exposure of the company. I am, however, reluctant to raise these myself anymore, since my bias in favor is clear... So, I will only if I can't persuade you to. ;p TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 15:55, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

This message was sent to all administrators following a recent motion. Thank you for your attention. For the Arbitration Committee, Cameron11598 02:26, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
ArbCom would like to apologise and correct our previous mass message in light of the response from the community.
Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices." We have updated our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication remains an optional means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised.
We are sorry for the wording of our previous message, which did not accurately convey this, and deeply regret the tone in which it was delivered.
For the Arbitration Committee, - Cameron11598 21:04, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

Hey there RB,
I recently got some books to help fill in some missing pieces in NASCAR history, and I had a question. In seasons 2011 and 2012 the "Season Summary" or "Race Recap" are written in paragraph form. But I noticed in the more recent years like 2015 and 2016 that they are broken into little ... almost sections .. for each race. Is there one preferred method over the other? I know a lot of it depends on who writes up the article to begin with, but I'm working on a couple OLD years and such, and as much as I can I'll conform to desired format. Let me know what you think. — Ched ( talk) 00:39, 19 September 2019 (UTC)

US Banknote Contest | ||
---|---|---|
November-December 2019 | ||
There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate. If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here |

The Harley J. Earl Trophy is the trophy presented to the winner of the premier – and season-opening – event of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), the Daytona 500. Hi Royalbroil,
I am a NASCAR page editor and have noticed your many, many pictures that are all over the site of cars and drivers in the Xfinity Series Road America race. Thank you so much for doing that for the past ten years (since the race began)! The race did have fans despite COVID, so I was wondering if you were going to go again this year and have a bunch of pictures up around now. I haven't seen anything, so I'm guessing the answer is no, but if you did go, I did add a list of drivers who have competed in the top three series and ARCA in 2020 who don't have pictures to the WikiProject NASCAR page (
click here), the reason being is so if people who see it there and are going to any of the upcoming races can snap a photo of them if possible. It seems like your pictures of the Road America drivers come during driver intros. If you were there last Saturday, were you able to get any pictures of the drivers on that list who were in the race?
Also, do you go or have you been in the past to any other races during the year other than in Wisconsin? It looks like that's where you live since I've seen pics of yours from the Milwaukee Mile (the race that was replaced by Road America) as well as today's up-and-coming drivers from Wisconsin (Sam Mayer, Derek Kraus, Ty Majeski and Natalie Decker in particular) when they were in go-karts (that's impressive!) and late models. I guess the next closest to you are Iowa, Chicago and Michigan? Do you go to any of those races as well?
Thanks and keep up the great work!

and wanted to say thanks for the Bob's article. When PRA (Pittsburgh Racing Association) closed down 74-75 (Heidelberg was sold out to be a shopping center) Our family took to following ASA and Senneker was really big reason. We had hit a lot of the ASA events when it didn't conflict with our home track/organization, so we knew the drivers and had some friends in the stands. Senneker was every bit as good as Rusty, or Kulwicki back then. By 75 I graduated, got a full time job and soon a g/f (future wife) and soon move out. I was also going to a community college 3 nights a week, so I didn't go as often as the rest of my family. Bob is a super guy, but very very quiet; almost to the point of being awkwardly shy. I think track announcers almost dreaded having to interview him when it won (which was VERY often) because it was like pulling teeth. We always went to the pits after the races, and I remember asking him once why he didn't make a career out of NASCAR. His answer kind of surprised me, but I understood. I can't quote, but he said basically that the cars were a lot heaver in NASCAR, didn't handle as well, and that just made them a lot less enjoyable to drive. He drove because he enjoyed it, and even though it was a successful career - he truly love driving. Just a racing memory I thought I'd share. Hope you and yours are well RB. Stay safe, and enjoy life. (by the way - what kind of camera equipment do you use?) Best always - Ched. — Ched ( talk) 05:17, 27 August 2020 (UTC)

The fact was ... that after qualifying on the pole at a late-model stock car race, Ty Majeski chose to start at the rear for a chance to win more money—and won the race? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, Ty Majeski), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. I am the (re)creator of the current Revord article. While I disagree with any policy that forces us to keep Revord unlinked from the Young Sheldon Article (as the only main cast member), especially since I see lots of Wikipedia articles on far less visible actresses that are allowed to stay, as far as I can see no edit since the AfD deletion helped towards the notability issue. That is, I see edits making it clear she is notable and discussed generally, but nothing specifically towards any of the three criteria stipulated by WP:ENTERTAINER which is the only deciding factor. I just want to explain that this is why your AFC was denied. In other words, until she takes a second significant role or, I guess, develops a "cult" following, there's little point in trying. I have been adding more current photos I’ve taken of subjects and places in Sheboygan but User:Mrschimpf has reverted several of those edits, falsely claiming I’m some such of competitor in local media in Sheboygan which I don’t own any interests in media publishing in Sheboygan County. In one edit on Shoreline Metro, my photo of a bus in service was removed because he claimed permissions were questionable and the photo was posed. Then there is the challenge of updating the photo on Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Asher Heimermann ( talk)

Hi Royalbroil. Thanks for your recent assistance with those Indy car constructor articles. Something I'd like your opinion on: In cases where an "xxx (constructor)" article has been moved to a person's name (e.g. Marchese (constructor) was moved to Carl Marchese), do you think Category:Formula One constructors (Indianapolis only) and Category:American racecar constructors should be transferred to the "person's name" article, or remain attached to the "(constructor)" redirect? We currently have some inconsistency in this regard. I lean toward attaching the categories to the "person's name" article. What do you think? Thanks. DH85868993 ( talk) 05:53, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
Hey RB, how goes it? Couple things: 1. I've been digging out some old photos and uploading, and I came across a couple folders that may be of some use. ASA 2007 at Bristol, and ISMA 2007 at Jennerstown. Are there any cars from either of those venues you'd (or ( talk page watcher)ers) would like to see uploaded? 2. I found a couple pics for Bob Senneker and Toledo Speedway that I added, not the best for Bob, but I'll likely run across more over the next couple weeks and will try to improve on what's there. Hope you're doing well, and all your projects are getting going well. Best always, — Ched ( talk) 04:48, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you. / Johan (WMF)

Hi Royalbroil,
If you're going to the Cup and Xfinity Series races at Road America this weekend, I bet you'll be taking lots of pictures as you've done in past years! Here are the drivers, crew chiefs and broadcasters that will be there
that don't have pictures of themselves in their article infoboxes. Have your camera ready and try to take pictures of all of these people at the track if you see them (during driver intros or at any other time during the weekend)!
Thanks again and keep up the great work!
Drivers:
There are also a few drivers who could use better images such as Kyle Weatherman (who has a helmet on in his pic) and Sammy Smith (who has a mask on in his pic).
Crew chiefs:
Cliff Daniels also needs a picture but he has been suspended so he won't be at the track. Dave Rogers and Peter Sospenzo also might or might not be at the track. They work in advisory roles for 23XI Racing and Spire Motorsports, respectively. IDK if they go to every race. You can also take pictures of crew chiefs that don't yet have articles in case they do get articles in the future.
TV broadcasters:
Coon and Snider both don't have articles but they may get them eventually if enough info/citations are found.

Hi Royalbroil,
IDK if you've "retired from editing" (you haven't made an edit since August 4th of last year but
you have uploaded some images to Wikimedia this month), but if you haven't and you're at the Xfinity Series race at Road America today, try to take pictures of
people that don't have pictures of themselves in their article infoboxes. All the drivers competing in the race have pictures although
Kyle Weatherman does not have a picture without his helmet on. (Although I bet you'd take pictures of as many drivers as you can regardless!) Crew chiefs
Steve Addington (RSS No. 38 driven by Joe Graf Jr.),
Jeff Meendering (JGR No. 18 driven by Sammy Smith),
Pat Tryson (BJMM No. 78 driven by Anthony Alfredo) and
Alex Yontz (Kaulig No. 10 driven by A. J. Allmendinger) have articles but do not have pictures so hopefully you see them and take pictures of them (especially if Allmendinger wins the race and Yontz is in victory lane)! The same goes for NBC pit reporter Kevin Lee, who does not have an article but could get one at some point in the future.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist.

US Banknote Contest | ||
---|---|---|
November-December 2019 | ||

It is named after influential automobile designer Harley Earl, who served as the second commissioner of NASCAR. Earl has been known as the so-called "father of the Corvette" and designer of the Firebird I prototype that adorns the trophy. The trophy is kept on display at the Daytona International Speedway, while a small replica is given to each Daytona 500 winner. ( Read more...) |

Thanks,
Cavanaughs (

Established policy provides for removal of the administrative permissions of users who have not made any edits or logged actions in the preceding twelve months. Because you have been inactive, your administrative permissions will be removed if you do not return to activity within the next month.
Inactive administrators are encouraged to rejoin the project in earnest rather than to make token edits to avoid loss of administrative permissions. Resources and support for reengaging with the project are available at Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention/administrators. If you do not intend to rejoin the project in the foreseeable future, please consider voluntarily resigning your administrative permissions by making a request at the bureaucrats' noticeboard.
Thank you for your past contributions to the project. — JJMC89 bot 00:15, 1 August 2023 (UTC)

Hello Royalbroil:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long
Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 2 months outstanding reviews from the current 4+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 November 2023 through 30 November 2023.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
Hardcore Holly has been nominated for a good article reassessment. If you are interested in the discussion, please participate by adding your comments to the reassessment page. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, the good article status may be removed from the article. Spinixster (chat!) 06:28, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading File:Marshall Teague Fabulous Hudson Hornet 1952.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. -- B-bot ( talk) 03:32, 2 March 2024 (UTC)
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Everything (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.Chris Troutman ( talk) 16:29, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
