Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Yolanda Retter, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot ( talk) 01:30, 22 October 2014 (UTC) reply

Hello RachelWex. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled " Yolanda Retter".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Yolanda Retter}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot ( talk) 02:00, 21 November 2014 (UTC) reply

Disambiguation link notification for March 9

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Yolanda Retter, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Pasadena and Silver Lake. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Information icon Hello, I'm Wikiisawesome. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Ricky Martin— because it didn’t appear constructive to me. There's a section about Ricky Martin's sexuality here in the article; so I think per WP:MOSLEAD that his sexuality doesn't need to be in the lede. /wia /talk 15:21, 11 October 2015 (UTC) reply

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wiki Loves Pride Minnesota requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Wiki Loves Pride 2016

As a participant of WikiProject LGBT studies, you are invited to participate in the third annual Wiki Loves Pride campaign, which runs through the month of June. The purpose of the campaign is to create and improve content related to LGBT culture and history. How can you help?

  1. Create or improve LGBT-related Wikipedia pages and showcase the results of your work here
  2. Document local LGBT culture and history by taking pictures at pride events and uploading your images to Wikimedia Commons
  3. Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project ( Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, etc.)

Looking for topics? The Tasks page, which you are welcome to update, offers some ideas and wanted articles.

This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. The group's mission is to develop LGBT-related content across all Wikimedia projects, in all languages. Visit the affiliate's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome! If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's talk page.

Thanks, and happy editing! --- Another Believer ( Talk) 20:40, 30 May 2016 (UTC) reply

Event listing

Hello, thanks for creating this event listing! I hope this event goes well. Just a recommendation - when you create an event like this, it's best to add it to the calendar template. This allows people to find and track it, and also will likely increase the likelihood of remote support from experienced contributors who can correct mistakes on pages created and give feedback to new contributors. Hope this is helpful to you, let me know if any thoughts or questions. Blythwood ( talk) 13:50, 10 February 2017 (UTC) reply

  • Hi - I'm afraid it's a bit clunky for starting a new month, but when you've got the event pages created and specific firm dates, I'd go here for April and here for July and copy the code out of here. Categories

Hello, please ensure that when you add an article to a category, that category is supported in the article text with statements with citations to reliable sources. For example, you added Sammy Haggar to Category:Jewish heavy metal musicians. There is no sourced statement in the article indicating he is Jewish, so this in an incorrect use of categories. Please let me know if you have any questions. -- Spike Wilbury ( talk) 17:25, 30 October 2017 (UTC) reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Education about the Holocaust, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Kurdish genocide and Intolerance ( check to confirm |  fix with Dab solver). Your draft article, Draft:A Wider Bridge

Hello, RachelWex. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, " A Wider Bridge".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot ( talk) 22:01, 4 February 2018 (UTC) reply

Hi RachelWex! Thanks for starting the article on Emma Jane Gay. It's GREAT. I just added an infobox, as I found a photo of her on the Commons. Was curious if you had given thought to nominating the article for a Did you know... I think it's in great shape, and meets the length & newness requirements. Plus we can try to get it to use the photo (though if we find a photo she took, that would be fab). DYK for Emma Jane Gay

On 8 March 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Emma Jane Gay, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Emma Jane Gay, known for her photographs of the Nez Perce people in the late 19th century, is identified as the first American lesbian photographer? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Emma Jane Gay. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, Emma Jane Gay), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

No edit wars

I completely disagree with you on the Gin Blossoms article. Every band has fill in people from time to time. This guy played in a grand total of three shows. Three! That's the definition of trivial in my book. Bob Caldwell CSL ( talk) 15:24, 16 January 2019 (UTC) reply

Further clarification: An encyclopedia is never exhaustive. You are trying to be exhaustive. The musician you named is not well-known enough to even have a wikipedia entry. Again, I think it's a waste of space on trivia. Bob Caldwell CSL ( talk) 16:34, 16 January 2019 (UTC) reply
Wikipedia articles, unlike encyclopedia articles, grow as their history grows. There is no harm in adding those people who performed for a band even if it was for a short time. We are going to keep it. Sorry that we will agree to disagree; I think the Gin Blossoms would be OK with the additions. Bob Caldwell CSL.

Wikiloveslove on Wikipedia with a gender gap focus

Hi RachelWex, I wanted to let you know that this year we are adding a wikipedian and gender gap contest to the Wiki Loves Love contest on Commons. I hope our project will participate, the idea is to add content related to ceremonies, festival and testimonies of love on Wikipedia. We have set up a list of articles to work on which also tackle themes of gay weddings (also the laws relating to it), and alternatives like free union, polyamor, bride buring, children marriages, bride abduction. You can have a look here (we have placed the project on Meta to allow multilanguage participation). You can participate as a project or as individual contributors. proposed deletion template on Folx (term)

Hi Rachel, I saw someone added a proposed deletion template to Folx (term). I'm tempted to remove it, since their justification is "I don't believe this article really belongs here" and not citing policy. Thoughts? I also raise into the discussion this edit and the one prior. I feel like this discussion has been brought up before; the only resolution had been that "move to Wiktionary" template (it's on Wiktionary, albeit the article here provides much more context & references).

Courtesy pinging Florian Blaschke, who made the edits I mention. = paul2520 ( talk) 15:53, 21 May 2019 (UTC) reply

Hi paul2520 ( talk),

Thank you for catching this. Yes, please remove their proposed deletion template from my article. If they can't give a good reason why, then out it goes--deletion is not based on personal opinion. RachelWex ( talk) 23:43, 21 May 2019 (UTC) reply

Re: Wikipedia@20

I was pleasantly surprised to see myself mentioned here! Thanks for your submission and for helping to document LGBT+ work within the Wikimedia movement. One very minor thing, my user name is "Another Believer" (not "AnotherBeliever"). Only pointing out because I believe the writings are currently being reviewed, so that's one minor change to consider. Otherwise, I'll take another look at your submission and some of the others, and I look forward to your continued work in this area. --- Another Believer ( Talk) 23:38, 30 June 2019 (UTC) reply

DYK for Storme Webber

On 26 December 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Storme Webber, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that two-spirit artist Storme Webber has used various media to retell her family's experience at The Casino, one of the oldest gay bars on the West Coast? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Storme Webber. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, Storme Webber), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

As a member of WikiProject LGBT studies, editing on LGBTQ+ issues or if you identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, come help us set goals, develop our organisation and structures, consider how to respond to issues faced by Queer editors, and plan for the next 12 months.

We will be meeting online for 3 half-days, 14–16 May at 1400–1730 UTC. While our working language is English, we are looking to accommodate users who would prefer to participate in other languages, including translation facilities.

  • Hi Blythwood, how are you doing? Could you tell me how to create a calendar template for April, May, June, and July 2017? I have a Wikipedia event in April and one in July. Thanks!

RachelWex 14:20, 10 February 2017 (UTC)

  • Hi - I'm afraid it's a bit clunky for starting a new month, but when you've got the event pages created and specific firm dates, I'd go here for April and here for July and copy the code out of here. Or put a message on my talk page if you're still stuck. Blythwood ( talk) 21:33, 10 February 2017 (UTC) reply

Hello, please ensure that when you add an article to a category, that category is supported in the article text with statements with citations to reliable sources.

The main project page is here : Wiki Loves Love on wikipedia 2019. I hope that you will participate! Nattes à chat ( talk) 17:48, 9 February 2019 (UTC) reply

proposed deletion template on Folx (term)

Help with Minneapolis

Hi, RachelWex. You gave us some excellent and helpful feedback on a recent RFC so am asking again for help here. My first thought is to write to the Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder but maybe you can think of some other ideas. Thank you. - SusanLesch ( talk) 15:27, 8 November 2020 (UTC) reply

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{ NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 02:44, 24 November 2020 (UTC) reply

The Wikimedia LGBTQ+ User Group is holding online working days in May.

More information, and registration details, at QW2021.-- Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group 02:55, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

Women in Red 8th Anniversary

Women in Red 8th Anniversary
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap!
