We first thought of Stage+Screen but then decided to extend it to Stage+Screen+Radio+Podcast so that we could include women associated with any of the behind-the-scenes occupations in stage productions or broadcasting: directors, screenwriters, producers, cinemaphotographers and editors, to name just a few. In connection with radio, we are also focusing on narrators and podcasters as well as pioneers. In order to attract wider collaboration, we hope to collaborate with wikiprojects on Television, Film, Stagecraft, Theatre, Musical Theatre, Radio, and Podcasting. Those involved in AfroCine Months of African Cinema which is continuing until 30 November are also welcome. The redlists below should help you to cover women from all the related occupations.
Anyone can take part in this event. We hope both inexperienced and seasoned editors will join us in creating biographies and other articles about women associated with stage productions and broadcasting around the world, as well as their achievements, writings, organizations, and awards. This virtual editathon allows enthusiasts wherever they may be to participate in our initiative. Contributors are of course also welcome to add articles on any other notable women who deserve to be covered, for example under our #1day1woman priority.
The main goals of the event are:
What else?
Thank you!
We have red-link lists on women from all relevant fields, which can be found in our redlist index. A selection of those which might be most useful for this priority is listed below.
