Furthermore: It seems like not all AfCs are listed. Where I can set up what articles should show up in our feeds? I'm a bit confused between the {{portal |Free and open-source software}}

Some too-clever-by-half editors have been going through and applying the {convert} function to all instances of temperature. While I appreciate the spirit and it is often helpful to have °F temps next to the °C, when it's done indiscriminately it can cause problems: I was on the page for Pikas the other day, and saw a sentence that went "For every change of 1°C (34°F) in average temperature..."
Which is obviously not right. I changed that instance and left a note on the responsible editor's talk page, but it's the second time I've seen such a thing and I assume it's a widespread issue.
Can someone who's more deft with coding than I am find a way to pull all instances where, e.g. "difference" or "change" appears within 5 words of a {convert}, to allow us to manually review such instances (and hopefully identify any convert-bots that have gone rogue?) /difference of [A-Za-z]+/
) is called a
regular expression (or "regex"). Programmers use them to search for complicated patterns in text. In simple terms, the expression means "match an uninterrupted string of characters consisting of letters A to Z, uppercase or lowercase". In other words, match a single word. Therefore, GoingBatty's searches would find instances where an editor had written, for example, difference of roughly 10 °C (50 °F)
, difference of about 3.2 °C (37.8 °F)
, and difference of fhqwhgads 3.2 °C (37.8 °F)
, et cetera.
Help:Searching/Regex provides an in-depth (though not very accessible) guide to searching Wikipedia using regex. You might find a more helpful explanation by searching the web for articles like /Learn Regex in [0-9]+ Minutes/
. Hope this helps!

GoingBatty (
talk) 20:37, 4 March 2022 (UTC)I was looking at the list of articles with the most references and came across History of the Jews in Kingston upon Hull. It surprised me that such a regional topic would have more than 1000 references, so I decided to take a look at the article. I'm still pretty new to editing WP, so please correct me if I'm mistaken, but it seems to me that this article is, on the whole, an extreme case of WP:OVERCITE. For one particular example, take the section Charities and clubs. One utterly non-controversial sentence has 15 references to back it up.
That's all more or less easy enough to deal with, but my larger concern has to do with the level of detail in the article ( WP:BLOATED). I'm Jewish, I understand the importance of making our history known, but this feels gratuitous. Upon further inspection, I also found History of the Jews in Leeds#Notable_people, which has also been turned into a list of possibly-notable Jews, and now has more than 1000 references as well. I'm concerned this problem could extend to other articles, and I'm not really sure how to proceed. Deleting huge sections of each article is likely what is called for here, but that feels both extremely radical and punishing to the well-meaning editor who has invested considerable time into expanding both articles significantly. Any advice? Maybe the articles could each be split into History of the Jews in X and List of Jews from X? Other suggestions? More generally, how should I bring this up with the editor involved?
Thanks, Lkb335 ( talk) 19:15, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
Re: Situationism and disambiguation above, I'm going to follow the advice and move to the Situationist International talk page. After consideration, I think I'm going to suggest taking sections from that article (Main Concepts, Political Theory, and Reception) and creating a new article entitled "Situationism." This is new territory for me, but I know the ensuing discussion will entail using some data. I can count Google hits for terms, but I'm not sure that proves anything here. How do I find out how many searches have been done on specific terms? Is there other information useful for such a discussion? And are there any help pages about article splitting? Hello,
I think the draft Draft:Tukhlia (Ukraine) should be moved to Draft:Tukhlia. The parenthetical disambiguation is not needed since there is no other article with that title.
(What I'm less sure about is whether "Tukhlya" or "Tukhlia" should be preferred. The version with ya has more hits in English on Google, but the ia version has considerable usage too (including in some of the Ukrainian government's English texts). The Ukrainian National romanization system says я => ia when not in word-initial contexts, so I'm inclined to favor that, but I have no strong opinion.) 70.172.194.25 ( talk) 21:31, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
I've noticed that this article cites the BBC live news for Europe/Ukraine. When it was added by another user, it was not archived. As newer news were published, the relevant piece was pushed to older pages. web.archive.org is not working for the BBC live news. Despite archiving several snapshots, they return an internal error. I could archive it using archive.today, and that reference is fixed.
However, i think other articles about the Russian invasion of Ukraine might also use that page as a reference, and they are probably not pointing to the correct page. Another problem is that the live page only shows a limited number of articles, and it seems that everything older than 27 February is lost. Because of that, i would like to know if it is possible to search for all the articles that use a certain url (a bbc live news) as a reference to properly archive them. (Sorry. Not sure if this is better suited for the article's Talk page, but I'm also asking generally.)
I'm working on getting sources for Robert Kinoshita's article. He made Robbie the Robot, and the article currently says Robby was "Created at a cost of anywhere between $125,000 and $1,000,000 — depending on which source is quoted ". Every source I've found has been in the $100k-$150 "reported"/"estimated" range. Nowhere near $1 million unless we're talking about inflation. Would it be better to remove the "and $1,000,000 — depending on which source is quoted" and just have the $100k-$150 range with multiple sources?
In situations where an article claims a wide range for something, but I can only find sources for something very different, what should I do? There may be actual sources with the extreme/outside values that I just haven't been able to fine, so I don't feel like I should remove it entirely. But it seems odd to me if I leave it with the sources giving a very limited range.
Not sure what I should do. Rourensu ( talk) 22:42, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

I do not precisely follow the operational details of IAbot (I have no personal experience with bots whatsoever), but I noticed in the 4 March 2022 revision of Sexual intercourse that archive links for Google Books were added, even though such archive links generally do not seem to provide useful content, or at least don't provide the expected content. In some circumstances, they produce an error message, or they may produce a web page that doesn't render the book content that was present in the original link.
Either way, it seems like a bad idea to incorporate these dysfunctional archive links into Wikipedia. Hello there. I have been working for a little while on a page for Anne Lister College, a new college at University of York. It has just been reviewed and has been removed for failing GNG. I am not trying to appeal against this judgement, but am just puzzled as to what steps to take next.
While the sources on the page are certainly closely related to the university, if not official sources, this is the case with all of the sources for the other college. Again, I am not saying that the review was wrong, but the information on this page I felt was better than on some of the other college's pages. For example, Constantine College has just two sources, both from the university.
Is there a way that I can copy all of the information from the old page onto a publicly accessible draft page for edits to happen until it is felt that the information is of a suitable level to meet GNG some resubmitted for review? I'm basically looking for a centralised tree of knowledge, where you can collaborate with the public to construct mind-maps within each topic As with Wiki pages - lots of hyperlinks, anyone can edit the articles. However, wikipedia presents information as long passages of text. Often it is easier to present information as a logical flowchart or mind map, rather than as passages of text. I'm familiar with the existence of specific 'wiki' sites, however that is not what I mean. I'm looking for a site containing "mind maps", rather than passages of text (as you see in a traditional wikipedia article)
I'm looking for a free, open site where the public can collaborate simultaneously to create a universal "Tree of Knowledge"
Any suggestions?

PetSematary182 an easy way to do it is this: First, search "User:PetSematary182" (and EXACTLY that) in the search bar. Then, a message will show up, saying "Wikipedia does not have a user page with this exact name" and so on, then click "edit" and you can go on from there. Another way to do it is to search your talk page, in this case, "User talk:PetSematary182" in the search bar, and then click on the "User Page" tab, and the editor will automatically open. Once you have text in your user page, your user page link will appear blue. my article has been declined because there's a cross namespace redirect
Hello, I'm Rym from Algeria. I have written an article about an Algerian food delivery service but it has been proposed for deletion, moved to the draftspace, then declined when I submitted it for review. Starting with the deletion proposal, they assumed that my article is promotional, and that I'm a SPA (single-purposed account). But I negated all the assumptions, and argued with what I've already stated in my user page; that I'm only interested in Algeria's digital and technological growth, which is rarely dealt with on Wikipedia, and that I'm also active in the French Wikipedia. They dropped the deletion but gave my article the Advertisement tag. That was last week, now they moved my article to the draftspace. Now thinking about it, the references in my article are all in Arabic and French since these are the main languages of Algeria, does this make my article unworthy of being on Wikipedia? I mean my sources are reliable and I have no business promoting the service yet are they not considered verifiable? About why my article hasn't been approved when submitted to review, they mentioned that it already exists, and I think it's some kind of cross namespace redirect problem, although I've proposed that draft redirect to speedy deletion. Can someone please explain how I can save my article? thank you, Rymknows23 ( talk) 11:12, 6 March 2022 (UTC) Rymknows23 ( talk) 11:12, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

I am requesting help removing "biographical" and "extensively edited" tags. I edited out words I thought might seem biased to remove the "biographical" tag. But since I removed so much, and was not aware that authors are not supposed to edit material about themselves, instead of that tag being removed, a new "extensively edited" tag was added. I am requesting help removing these two tags. Finally thought to ask a question at the Teahouse after many days. I have been using AWB for many days now. What I mostly do is fix new pages, using the source as new pages and then making out a list. But, AWB is supposed to be a much powerful tool. Actually the problem is with me. I cannot fully unleash the power of this super piece of software. I have read the manual of AWB, but it is just a detailed explanation of how to use it. The manual mainly contains information about all the different toolbars and options. But recently I have found out about the typo fixing feature, and have started using it well. But I want to know, what else I can do with this. I know many things can be done, and many people know what more can actually be done. I am under the mentorship of FormalDude, but he said that he doesn't have much knowledge about AWB. So I thought to ask the question at the Teahouse, to get information about AWB from multiple users. I would really be glad if some AWB expert user tells me what else I can do with this tool. Regards.

Hi, I am an editor here on the English Wikipedia. In February, I noticed a problem with an on our German-language counterpart: Due to a false cognate between Latin and German as well as a misunderstanding about a topic, the German article contains misinformation and information that should be put into a separate, newly-made article. I left a help request at the "embassy," but no one has gotten back to me yet, and it has been awhile. Can I have some further advice? Joesom333 ( talk) 21:29, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
Sure! Here is my request from the "embassy," slightly edited: I speak very little German, although coincidentally I am learning the language. I am writing you about the German Wikipedia article " Boccia." In English, we call "Boccia" "Bocce" or "bocce ball." However, there seems to be a mistranslation. The article says the following sentence: „Seit 1984 ist Boccia eine paralympische Sportart.” This roughly translates to "Boccia has been a Paralympic sport since 1984." This is not quite correct: It is a confusion between what we call bocce ball and you call boccia. Since 1984, a Paralympic sport that is known as boccia (English Wikipedia article) in English and many other languages has been included in the Paralympic games. I have linked the English Wikipedia article for "Boccia." Boccia (the Paralympic sport) is a similar, but different sport than bocce ball. It has different rules, playing surfaces, and equipment. I believe that someone should make another article for the Paralympic sport of boccia like we have on the English Wikipedia, perhaps titled "Boccia (paralympische Sportart)". Pétanque is different than bocce, and it, as it should, has its own, separate article on here. The paralympic sport of boccia should have its own article, too! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joesom333 ( talk • contribs) 17:35, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

I've been spending a lot of time editing down overlong plot summaries. I found my way to Ugly Betty Season 3, where there's a LONG plot outline, followed by individual episode summaries which restate the same information much more succinctly. Then, just for comparison, I looked at other season pages for Ugly Betty, only to find the same setup on each of them. Easiest thing would be to delete the Plot sections altogether as unnecessarily duplicative. Since this covers a lot of info across several pages, I thought I'd check here first before being bold and doing it. Just Another Cringy Username ( talk) 21:52, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
an article should not have both an episode table and a prose summary[of the plot]. Additionally, overly detailed plot descriptions can be derivative works and in violation of copyright (policy). When we do plot summaries of works under copyright, we do so under fair use principles, which requires that they be brief (in comparison to the work) and that they support other article content. I feel you'd be quite justified in removing these. – Reidgreg ( talk) 20:28, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
I'm working on an article for Mazer Gaming, an esports organization. The draft has been reviewed and rejected. I used tournament brackets to provide org performances, but was told that the bracket host itself is a wiki, it's not a viable source. I understand the issue of the source was it in reference to anything substantial. But it was a tournament bracket.
I was told it was overly promotional. There is no mention of joining the organization or purchasing anything from the sponsors. I followed the build of articles about FaZe Clan and Team Liquid to make sure I didn't overstep.
Reviewer also mentioned bios about players were unnecessary, and this is where I feel the article wasn't truly read. There are no player bios. There are bios for management at the bottom above the references. But nothing for the players, and I made sure each of the sections were very clearly marked and separated.
If I could get another set of eye on this, it would be much appreciated.
Cheers! JoltSw1tch ( talk) 21:12, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
"A proud father of 3 energetic boys has conditioned Mark to deal with the changing dynamics of gaming."? Certainly in the Wikipedia universe it's typical of these esports articles I see - mostly puffed up promotional guff written by insider organisations themselves, and never demonstrating notability from independent reliable sources that have written about them from an outsider's perspective. To me, they all seem like smoke and mirrors -and this one is no exception- so you really are going to need far better sources. I'm not going to read them all, so which three independent ones can you come up with to demonstrate that Mazer Gaming meets our Notability guidelines? I'd suggest WP:NCORP is most relevant. If the article's about the organisation, all the tournaments it runs are mere trivia, so you'd need to cut everything out, and write solely about why this organisation is important. If it's the tournament that is notable, you'd need to focus on that, and show how the general mainstream media have taken note of your employer's organisation, and written about it in detail and in depth. Oh, none of the individuals who took part in these computer games are notable, and nowhere in your draft should there be any external links to Twitter accounts and so forth. Any you do want to use should be in a separate 'External links' section. Please remember that this is an encyclopaedia of notable things, not a place to promote your employer's business activities. In India, almost all the Hindi and other languages that follows Devnagiri script words already spelled in English and are commonly used. Most of the articles in Wikipedia about Indian culture and tradition have been spelled English words as commonly used in India. Some user have been editing articles on Indian culture and replacing these English spelled words for Hindi to different Transliteration schemes. This action makes audience interpret or pronounce these words when reading the articles on wikipedia. This action also created controversy because of confusing transliteration because of the words are pronounced with complex tongue movements or nasal sounds. Whats is your opinion on should these words stay as they are used or transliterated to something which a normal reader wont understand or get confused ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Neha.thakur75 ( talk • contribs)

Who can edit Wikipedia page for RT TV description page on Wikipedia, RT website and youtube channel. The RT TV youtube channel is managed with or by Bots, it is a propaganda dispensing channel that distorts facts and information about everything but now mainly Ukraine war. If you flipped countries mentioned and the story like, you might get it right but they are painting Ukraine as an aggressor and Russia as a victim. Their comments are all spit out from bots, fake accounts (I checked, many started right before or when war started) and empty profiles) they are all impersonating people who support Russian war, they supposedly come from all countries that are anti this war including America, Africa and Europe. This is insane. Their subscriptions to channel at 4.7M are fake again added through bots and every video you watch includes 1-2 facts then weaves false information changing stories, blaming Ukraine...they even blamed ukraine for bombarding their own schools and killing children. I have reported the channel to youtube/google and they restricted some videos but will do it for as long as it takes for humans not AI to block he channel. PLEASE do your part and update the wikipedia on RT TV to include information on misinformation, propaganda and rewriting history to rightfully discredit these sources of information. Go ahead and do your own research, it's so obvious, nothing is hidden. I have reported over 25 videos and the channel itself and am coming here for the wikipedia community to update information to make it know that these sources are not credible. If you make any comments that are no Pro russia under the videos, their bot instantly deletes them, in fact all external posts get deleted either automatically through the bot apps or manually but they definitely have moderators on that channel to make sure their propaganda doesn't get interrupted with truth bombs. All I as a viewer expect is truth. You can't get it on that channel, you never could but now things are taken to another level and Google is not yet paying attention. Sorry if this is a question with an obvious answer I'm missing.
Should I use {{ Cite AV media}} or {{ Cite interview}} for the video I mentioned? It is a video interview.
With {{ Cite AV media}} I can point out the specific time where it happens, but with {{ Cite interview}} I can point out who's the interviewer, and who's the interviewee.

I am *guessing* that Wikipedia policy on reproducibility in examples that require computation is that if the example is complex enough that it's an issue (more on that in a minute) then the article should be pointing at a primary source which has some sort of commitment to reproducibility. Does that sound right?
When would it be an issue? Old-school style was to omit details that could be reasonably deduced and filled in by a reader "skilled in the art". This is always a judgement call. Different articles may well have different assumptions about the skill level of the reader. I just put a textbook-level example into my draft article on Draft:Quasilinearization which I feel is about right; details are omitted and no code is supplied, but the code took me a few minutes to write and another few to debug, so it doesn't seem necessary to supply it. But I recognize that opinions may differ.
Is there a policy document somewhere about this? Rob.Corless ( talk) 15:55, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

Now, I have a website that focuses on in-depth history and missing artifacts, so I did write a blog about it a couple days ago, but used reliable sources to write it. I can list out more of the sources I used to write both the wiki page as well as my blog, if it helps my chances in getting the page published. Please let me know what I can do! I've added citations from numerous books and also specified where there was a potential conflict since an author of one of the independent studies was also involved with Decision Education Foundation. After removing an irrelevant section and cleaning up duplicate citations, I believe the article should meet Wikipedia standards but don't want to assume anything. Is there any penalty for resubmitting the updated article? Or, if that's the wrong approach, can someone suggest how I should proceed to get it re-reviewed? I believe the foundation meets the notability standards and that there are sufficient well sourced citations to pass.

Yesterday I changed from Legacy Vector to Vector, though when I checked my prefs just now I see Monobook. Regardless, I can no longer type some characters at the end of a paragraph if I pause in my writing. This only happens if I hit "reply" to a post (which is new to me); if I just hit "edit" as I have been doing for years, WP is perfectly functional.
For example, if I'm typing, then decide to go back and change a word or fix a typo, I can no longer continue with the paragraph. Instead, I need to start a new paragraph, then hit backspace to join them together. Now I can't add anything to that paragraph, either at the end on in the middle.
Sometimes I can't add any letters, but other times it's just certain characters. Parentheses seem to be a particular problem: If I add a parenthesis, WP will insert it at the beginning of the paragraph instead of at the cursor.
I haven't explored further to narrow down what the bug is, but it's been more than once. Is it just me, or is this something in queue to be fixed? — kwami ( talk) 21:18, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

How can I get a "marked up copy" of an article's references. It would be useful when analysing their value (especially for an AfD) to have a sandbox copy of them, complete with clickable links, etc. and other functions available when viewing the rendered results of the {{
reflist}}
template. It could act as a valuable scratch pad in grouping them, describing, then deleting them, and invoking them individually when expressing an opinion on them.
I did try searching the Teahouse archives, and I did try copying the entire article into a sandbox, then replacing the template with {{subst:reflist}}. Can't blame me for trying, but that replaces it with the code executed dynamically to produce the result I'm after.
So is there a way to collect, like {{
reflist}}
does, an ordered list without duplicates of the references in an article, as they would be marked up for rendering in the typical ==References== section? signed,

I was in a hurry to create an English version of a page devoted to the Russian businessman and philanthropist Boris Zimin (this person supported Russian science for years, and now there is a concern in Russian scientific society that he might be sanctioned, which would be terribly unfair! It's just an explanation why I was in a hurry). So I made a wrong decision to create a short page of a single paragraph and then develop it into a normal English page. But I underestimated the speed of Wikipedia: in 15 minutes the page was converted into a draft as relying on a single source (though several sources were already at hand, I did not have time to insert them).
Now, the page is a draft: Draft:Boris Zimin
It contains now a number of sources both English and Russian, and I am a bit frustrated because the person who converted it into a draft does not answer, and I don't see what's wrong with the page now. If somebody feels that it requires improvement, please let me know. But if it is OK, how can I make it a normal English version? Mlarisa ( talk) 22:25, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

I am writing my MA dissertation about publications by art galleries and similar institutions. I would like to start helping to improve Wikipedia, and thought I would start with the exhibition catalogue page. It doesn't seem to have any references, and in my opinion could do with a bit of a re-write in general.
One problem is that the page covers both exhibition catalogues as would be associated with an art exhibition, and trade fair guides which (apparently? I've never seen it, and there's no citation) can also be called exhibition catalogues.
I wrote a suggestion on the talk page about moving the stuff about trade fair catalogues to the trade fair article. But maybe I should just move it myself? How do I decide whether to do this myself? Any advice appreciated. Ascendingrisingharmonising ( talk) 16:07, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

Gekkotan In my opinion, you have a serious competency-is-required problem. In looking at your contributions to date, I see two drafts that were declined and seven that have not been submitted for review. Your writing consistes of run-on sentences and sentence fragments, and inappropriate word capitalization. Draft:Abell 1836-BCG is an example. The only reason Draft:Cyclone Gombe approaches a valid draft is because other editors have written most of it. I strongly recommend that you stop creating new drafts, then either improve or abandon your existing drafts. David notMD ( talk) 16:24, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

Dear All One of the ways I would like to edit and add content to the Wikipedia is y adding good quality images of stamps. Sometimes they add details or a visual reference where no photography is available. they also, are a part of culture and history. I am reading the guidelines but caanot find a way to address this question. Let's say I want to add the jpeg of a stamp to this article. /info/en/?search=Lloyd_C.II
You can read at the article that this aircraft was used also by hungarians. There is already a picture of the austro-hungarian plane. On 1968, the Magyar Posta (Post office of Hungary) made a stamp of this same plane. I add a link to the image, ( https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/moscow-russia-july-postage-stamp-printed-hungary-shows-lloyd-c-ii-airplanes-serie-circa-lloyd-c-ii-airplanes-serie-circa-236719531.jpg) I must say that I own a copy of the stamp and will scan it in high resolution, etc...
Where do you think that this image can be added at the article? I don't see the place to add another image and the article is perfectly edited. Can you point me where I can find the guidelines for adding more images, like stamps? I have a HUGE collection, maybe when we speak about flowers and animals this depictions can be of some value, in any case, they are an art expression, from my point of view.

Hi, I'm working on the Taiwan+ page via the article's talk page as I have a COI (disclosed on my profile). I've been working to supplement the article's talk page with secondary sources that support that the information is verifiable and has clear evidence of significance. I tagged the edits under the request edit template, but when I navigated to the COI noticeboard I noticed that edit request is listed as Declined. I'm wondering if it's possible to see why the request has been denied, and generally how to attract the attention of more experienced editors to the page. For example, I have several Mandarin-language sources listed that I don't know how to get the attention of a bilingual editor about. I was also wondering if COI editors are able to add photos to a page, like the addition of a company logo, and where I might find info to help with that process if it's permissible. Thanks! <ref name=:1>A</ref>
and <ref name=:1>B</ref>
and the software Wikipedia runs on is confused as to which one is meant to be <ref name=:1> . You can fix it by figuring out which ref the ref name is meant to belong to and removing the name=:1
from the other which will just change it to a ref. If you're trying to use different refs for ref names then you can simply just give one of them a different ref name. ―

I'm sure I am making a really silly error with this syntax but as I don't speak HTML, I can't see what it is:
Without serifs or other adjustment (as in [[Trebuchet MS]]), an uppercase {{angbr|i}} <span style="border: 1px solid #ddd; background-color: #fdfdfd; padding: 1px 1px; font family: Arial, Helvetica;">I</span> is indistinguishable from a lowercase {{angbr|L}} <span style="border: 1px solid #ddd; background-color: #fdfdfd; padding: 1px 1px; font family: Arial, Helvetica;">l</span>.
which produces
Without serifs or other adjustment (as in Trebuchet MS), an uppercase ⟨i⟩ I is indistinguishable from a lowercase ⟨L⟩ l.
In my preferences, my Wikipedia settings font is Trebuchet (for exactly this reason) so I can see that the result is not a straight l, not Arial or Helvtica, so it is not working as expected. I have also tried font: Arial, Helvetica
, that doesn't work either. (Most of the rest of the markup is stolen from {{
char}}.) Could someone point out the error of my ways? --

font-family:
works, neither font family:
nor font:
do. Here is the proof:Without serifs or other adjustment (as in Trebuchet MS), an uppercase ⟨i⟩ I is indistinguishable from a lowercase ⟨L⟩ l.
{{
sans-serif|{{
char|I}}}}
, so I
went ahead and added that. On second thought, maybe it should be {{
char|{{
sans-serif|I}}}}
?:S... The end result looks the same, it just removes the duplicated CSS declarations from article space. The implied declaration font-family: sans-serif
should hopefully appear as either Helvetica or Arial on most browsers, and it should also play nice on those very rare systems where neither Arial nor Helvetica are included as default fonts. Cheers,

However, i think other articles about the Russian invasion of Ukraine might also use that page as a reference, and they are probably not pointing to the correct page. Another problem is that the live page only shows a limited number of articles, and it seems that everything older than 27 February is lost.

I'm trying to add citations to the page Oksana Markarova, the current Ukrainian ambassador to the United States, but I'm running into an issue where the Ukrainian government sites that I would like to cite are down/not responding.
Unfortunately, the only copy of the webpage in question which details the time she spent in her position as Commissioner for Investment that I can find online are the ones that Google has cached - would it still be possible to add them as a citation followed by a Template:Dead link? I do not precisely follow the operational details of IAbot (I have no personal experience with bots whatsoever), but I noticed in the 4 March 2022 revision of Sexual intercourse that archive links for Google Books were added, even though such archive links generally do not seem to provide useful content, or at least don't provide the expected content. In some circumstances, they produce an error message, or they may produce a web page that doesn't render the book content that was present in the original link.
Either way, it seems like a bad idea to incorporate these dysfunctional archive links into Wikipedia. Does this indicate that IAbot was configured incorrectly, or does logic need to be incorporated into IAbot to bypass archives for certain kinds of links? Fabrickator ( talk) 01:30, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

Or some other way that I should try to improve the page without breaking any guidelines? Stuart Newmanite ( talk) 22:09, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

You can change your signature in Preferences (Like me :D), although I can't explain that right now because it's a long and complicated process. Anyway, I hope you have found this helpful. my article has been declined because there's a cross namespace redirect

Hello! So I have been in the process of writing a Wikipedia page about this non-profit organization. My article was declined because of non-verifiable references, so my question today is when I'm writing about organizations, what references should I be looking for or using. I just used the non-profits website. Any guidance would be appreciated. (Also, this is my first wiki article) Hochouston ( talk) 16:34, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

How can I get a "marked up copy" of an article's references. It would be useful when analysing their value (especially for an AfD) to have a sandbox copy of them, complete with clickable links, etc. and other functions available when viewing the rendered results of the {{
reflist}}
So is there a way to collect, like {{
reflist}}
does, an ordered list without duplicates of the references in an article, as they would be marked up for rendering in the typical ==References== section? signed,

Editorial commentary, analysis and opinion pieces, whether written by the editors of the publication (editorials) or outside authors (invited op-eds and letters to the editor from notable figures) are reliable primary sources for statements attributed to that editor or author, but are rarely reliable for statements of fact.the second source is a forbes contributors piece, which is not only an opinion piece, but also don't have as much editorial oversight and as such generally considered unreliable. happy editing! 💜 melecie talk - 05:49, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

But this user writing in lead that he's former profesional Cricketer. You have to do something about it. This user looks incompetent to write here, but still doing these things even other users warned him on his talk page. Success think ( talk) 03:23, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

As of whenever you're reading this, there are currently 2,396 submissions waiting to be reviewed, so it could take some time. Just be patient and someone will have a look eventually! Bsoyka ( talk) 04:32, 14 March 2022 (UTC)This may take 3 months or more, since drafts are reviewed in no specific order.
I'm freshman on Wikipedia. Can you tell me how I'm able to know that the article I created is approved or not? Is there any sign on the article page? Or I must wait some kind of notification letter.
Thanks in advance. Kamron99 ( talk) 15:38, 13 March 2022 (UTC)

Thanks! I am trying to edit the page about fintech. When I google the term and go through the articles. They all seem to have some valid point or the other. However, most are blogs or articles written by people in the field. As you know fintech is a recent phenomenon, and not all the sides are covered in respectable publications. Moreover, some of the publications like New York Times are subscription based.
How do I go about finding reliable sources for the edits that I want to make? Please help.
If I did, that will be my very first edit on Wikipedia. Mvsudhakaran ( talk) 13:25, 13 March 2022 (UTC)

themselves, but rather used the
visual editor which creates such reference names. Unless we ask them to switch to source editing, there is nothing they can do about it. (As much as I hate visual editor, I must admit it is more newbie-friendly.)

My first ever article Okuike is an "orphan".
But it links to other articles, and other articles link to it too.
So why is it an orphan and how can I fix it?

Hello - Last month, I made a conflict of interest edit request to the Hikvision page in response to the request on the page for updated company information. I understand and appreciate that there is a high volume of requests waiting for review, but is there any way that I can move this process along or assist? I can be patient for a response from an editor, but I wanted to make sure there is nothing I can do to help on my end. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated - thank you!
I have also tried font: Arial, Helvetica
, that doesn't work either. (Most of the rest of the markup is stolen from {{
char}}.) Could someone point out the error of my ways? --

font-family
instead of font
, and limited it to either Arial or Helvetica? I'm using the default font so I can't see any particular difference save for the background padding you've added. —

font-family:
works, neither font family:
nor font:
do. Here is the proof:Without serifs or other adjustment (as in Trebuchet MS), an uppercase ⟨i⟩ I is indistinguishable from a lowercase ⟨L⟩ l.
{{
sans-serif|{{
char|I}}}}
, so I
went ahead and added that. On second thought, maybe it should be {{
char|{{
sans-serif|I}}}}
Cheers,
