Vyatskopolyansky District ( Russian: Вя́тскополя́нский райо́н), sometimes spelled Vyatsko-Polyansky District (Вя́тско-Поля́нский район), is an administrative [1] and municipal [5] district ( raion), one of the thirty-nine in Kirov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 907.71 square kilometers (350.47 sq mi).[ citation needed] Its administrative center is the town of Vyatskiye Polyany (which is not administratively a part of the district). [1] Population: 30,659 ( 2010 Russian census); [2] 34,044 ( 2002 Census); [7] 38,451 ( 1989 Soviet census). [8]
Within the framework of administrative divisions, Vyatskopolyansky District is one of the thirty-nine in the oblast. [1] The town of Vyatskiye Polyany serves as its administrative center, despite being incorporated separately as an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts. [1]
As a municipal division, the district is incorporated as Vyatskopolyansky Municipal District. [5] The Town of Vyatskiye Polyany is incorporated separately from the district as Vyatskiye Polyany Urban Okrug. [5]
