Oparinsky District ( Russian: Опа́ринский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [4] district ( raion), one of the thirty-nine in Kirov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 6,043 square kilometers (2,333 sq mi).[ citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Oparino. [1] Population: 11,795 ( 2010 Russian census); [2] 14,631 ( 2002 Census); [6] 18,201 ( 1989 Soviet census). [7] The population of Oparino accounts for 37.6% of the district's total population. [2]
