Hi Xeno, saw this edit. Is there anything I *need* to do? The only reason I'd added Statusbot was because I joined the highly active users project but I've never actually been contacted through that. Is there any other benefit to having on/off line status that I'm missing? It wasn't anything I thought of before the project. TravellingCari the Busy Bee 02:54, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your support in my recent RfA, which closed successfully. I felt the process was a thorough review of my contributions and my demeanor, and I was very gratified to see how many editors took the time to really see what I'm about and how I can be of help to the project. As a result, some editors changed their views during the discussion, and most expressed specific, detailed points to indicate their opinion (whether it was , , or ).
A number of editors were concerned about my level of experience. I was purposeful in not waiting until a particular benchmark occurred before requesting adminship, because I feel - as many do - that adminship is not a reward and that each case is individual. It is true that I am not the most experienced editor around here, but I appreciate that people dug into my contributions enough to reach the conclusion that I seem to have a clue. Also, the best thing about this particular concern is that experience is something an editor - or administrator - can always get more of, and I'll continue doing that, just as I've been doing. (If I seem a little slow at it, feel free to slap me.)
Thanks for your early support. I'm glad there are editors (and admins) who understand there are some of us who are just plugging along, doing our thing...
I am a strong believer in the concept that this project is all about the content, and I'm looking forward to contributing wherever I can. Please let me know if I can be of any help. In the meantime, I'm off to school...
Thanks again!

Dear Xenocidic,
I would find it helpful if I can have access to the deleted pages under "Send the Light". I have partially restored the subject owing to the importance of the subject matter, as Wikipedia was one of the ports of call some folk made on the subject.
My quest, is one of the historic deleted pages was an unsubstantiated comment by an official of "Send the Light" (a Christian Book Distributor - probably now the largest on the world) to the effect that the Christian Book Shops needed STL more than STL needed them. I wish to chase this comment up for verficiation, but the only place I saw the comment was on the Wiki "Send the Light" page. I suspect as it was not verified, it may have been removed, but accessable from the history section.
However one sysop removed the entry in May, thinking the subject material unimportant - whilst hopefully the entry will be restored (its current reapperance is under debate) - I would value access to the previous deleted pages on the entry.

Hello, further to the warnings that you have made to the user here: here can I inform you that the same anon IP user is persistenly adding warnings to my talk page. I consider them to be vandalism and am reverting them. The only contact that I have had with this user is to revert their thread bumping at the science desk and posts which seek medical advice, is is against the policy of the refdesk. I feel the user would benefit from a forced wikibreak as I cannot see that the IP is being used for anything but unconstructive edits. I have once placed a warning on their talk page stating that they may be blocked if they continue to bump threads at the reference desk. (Re [18]) Hi
I suppose that's it now. While I was away, User:69.86.161.159, obviously the "opponent" of User:Truthful data (see history of article), reverted to "his" very biased version. While I was writting a warning to that user and one on the talk page, truthful data reverted back to his (in the opposite direction biased) version again. Either full protect the article (probably in my version, since, if I'm not completelly wrong, that's the least biased - although in general I would not ask a protection on a specific version, but this seems to be a special case) or block both parties for an extended period of time. -- PaterMcFly ( talk) 18:43, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Nancy Licini (nee Shelton) and this serves as notification that the WikiPedia South Bend Watch Company History and the reference page under Heartland is in accurate. I am not an editor and really do not have the time to figure out how to undo the deletions of my contributed revisions, or should I say corrections. Additionally, I do not understand the format for documenting your articles and the signing of my posts by typing four (4) tildes.
So, I am asking you to undo this and make the changes for me. Here are the facts:
Walter Cross Shelton, Sr. 08/12/1881-08/15/1975 (W.C. Shelton, Sr.) was my paternal grandfather and the man associated with the South Bend Watch Company. Mercel Joseph Shelton (M.J. Shelton) was his son (my uncle) and graduated from Purdue University. He became a Civil Engineer. My father, Walter Cordier Shelton, Jr. 11/22/1914-04/01/1998 (W.C. Shelton, Jr.) became an Aeronautical Engineer. Neither of Walter C. Shelton, Sr. sons were associated with the South Bend Watch Company. Again, it was W.C. Shelton, Sr. who was the jeweler and watchmaker in our family.
This is my family genealogy and I am asking you to kindly make the appropriate aforementioned corrections. As a reference regarding validity I am refering you to the South Bend Tribune (Obituary Section) of my father Walter C. Shelton, Jr. dated 04/04/1998. It does state "His father, Walter, Sr. was the manager of the South Bend Watch."
If you should have further questions, please feel free to contact me at the following. Thank you kindly for your prompt and courteous attention.

Thank you kindly for your assistance regarding the appropriate and accurate corrections involving the South Bend Watch Company and my grandfather Walter C. Shelton, Sr. as the watchmaker in our family. I do need further assistance. I have tried on several occasions to make contact and to no avail.
The additional Reference Pg is intitled Heartland under the History of the South Bend Watch Company in WikiPedia. This data too is inaccurate and states M.J. Shelton. It needs to read Walter C. Shelton, Sr. (W.C. Shelton, Sr.). Please assist in seeing to it that this article is corrected, edited with the aforementioned corrections of W.C. Shelton, Sr. associated with the South Bend Watch Company. Again, I thank you for your time and expertise. Please note that I have given to you and posted confidential contacts. Please feel free to delete my requests and contact data following these corrections.

Thank you kindly for your assistance and expertise. I appreciate your time and energy. As I mentioned, I am not an expert in being able to navigate these pages.
I have one last request: I am unable to edit the reference page entitled Heartland re: the WikiPedia Reference Section involving the South Bend Watch Company.
It is my hope that you will be able to make the appropriate corrections to the Reference data entitled Heartland. Again, M.J. Shelton is listed as the man associated with the South Bend Watch Company. That statement is inaccurate. The credit and correction is Walter Cross Shelton, Sr. (W.C. Shelton, Sr.) who was associated with the South Bend Watch Company. He was the watchmaker and jeweler in our family. Verification: South Bend Tribune 04/04/1998 Obituary Section entitled Walter C. Shelton, Jr. It states his father Walter C. Shelton, Sr. was the man associated with the South Bend Watch Company.

I have contacted so many, and this reference page well, I cannot edit. The ringmaster? I haven't the faintest idea how to contact him/her, believe me I've tried. The last time I believe this reference pg was edited was 1999. If you could locate a resource for contact to accomplish my goal re these corrections, I would appreciate it. Resources I've tried seem to be dead. Sorry about this, but I cannot see this ending until the corrections are made involving W.C. Shelton, Sr. and the South Bend Watch Company.

Hi! As you said on my talk page you were meaning to address the Filll thing (presumably his questions and lack of voting), I thought I ought to draw your attention to something on his User talk page. There are 4 boxes, and in the fourth one down, he states that he will not be voting in RFAs, RFBs and so on. His reasoning is sound - not wanting to be attacked for his votes. I think most people would get rather narked about that. I would guess that he continues including the questions in RFAs so that people can assess the candidancy's reasoning. Still, answering them wasn't a complete waste of time; I did get weburiedoursecretsinthegarden's vote, even if he didn't read the answer! Take care, StephenBuxton ( talk) 16:28, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible system) - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 23:01, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi Xenocidic,
Can you please send me a copy of the deleted page Syncexpert?
I am new to adding page on wikipedia and did not aware of the rules. Now I know.
With the returned copy I can change focus of the page to the proprietary data sync algorithm used in the software, instead of advertising the software.
By the way, I was indeed inspired by another wikipedia page on a competing product of SyncEXP. I just copied their wiki codes straightly and replaced with our names plus some adjustment on the wordings. Can I send you the wiki link of that product so you may comment on its long living in wiki?
Thanks for caring on this matter,

500-1000 edits are requested for a tool is "no more momentous than installing Twinkle"? Is this the norm at RfR? (And sorry if I come off a bit abrupt.) — Giggy 11:21, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Need your help again, this time on this composer here, where I've stumbled into another long-going edit-war. After getting involved into a revert war with several Users, IP's and possibly some sock-puppets I've listed the article at WP:RFPP for full-protection. The request took some time to be handled, and in the meantime I've checked the talk page (where reverting and edit-warring is seemingly also rather the way to go...) I decided that I should actually nominate the article for deletion as HOAX.
Copied from article talk page (from myself): On my request, this article has been protected due to heavy edit-warring. (Of course in the wrong version, but I don't care). But this discussions here and some googling (Zero hits for "Nacht Der Tanz" outside WP, Opus 114 is from Brahms, opus 711 doesn't exist...), the fact that Nacht Der Tanz isn't proper german (should say "Nacht des Tanzes" or "Der Tanz der Nacht" or similar) and the fact that the subject probably doesn't even know german makes me think that the accusation of this being a hoax might be true. Also, there are way to many sock-puppets involved in these discussions.
Unfortunatelly, the article has now been protected in the meantime. Can you open up an Rfd debate for me please? -- PaterMcFly ( talk) 14:17, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
<--If the things on the talkpage are true (hoax, Zionist/anti-Palestinian claims), that AFD/article are both gonna get really messy with socks/ANI/DRV...just a fair warning to avoid it if you don't want to get too ridiculously involved. Since your bot sent out the message, they may come to you first, regardless of who made the template. Good work on all that, to you and all others involved! Hi. Is it "done" to put a category on an empty image page, when the image is hosted at commons? This is out of my usual neighborhood, but a user placed a copyright tag on Image:Nixon greets POW McCain.jpg, so I've been investigating that. The image was deleted on Wikipedia in October of 2006. I thought it had been re-uploaded, but, no, it only looks like it's here because somebody has added a category. This may be fine and dandy, but as I do practically nothing with images (aside from what I've been learning at WP:CP, I don't know. The image is already in that category on commons, but for all I know the duplication may be necessary to make it list here. And if you don't know, I'll ask elsewhere, but I thought I'd give it a shot. :) -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:46, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

(Re [40]) Simple. I believe Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and i also believe having links of trailers and such in all articles violates "Wikipedia is not a mirror for external link" which is addressed here here. If people want to see trailers they can search using search engines like google, ask jeeves and many others. Anyways this is what i see. If you were having problems with me removing trailers you can add them back and i can also add plenty of trailers in all articles and we all be filling links with trailers and such. Easy isn't? :). Something to keep in mind in discussions. For example, an editor might try to justify his or her behavior by citing 'threats' or other incidents that just didn't ever happen. Which is why we require editors to back up such claims with diffs. We must assume good faith absent evidence to the contrary, but that does not require us to pretend that all editors actually will edit in good faith. Dlabtot ( talk) 15:52, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi! Inspired by your division-by-zero block, I thought I would be a bit silly with my reasons during admin school. I figured that I ought to be sensible when doing adctual blocks, deletions, etc, so now is the time to let my hair down. Can you (or a talk page stalker) check out Kenneth Moore? We've got original research from a relative on there; I welcomed her but she apparently just logged out and re-edited. She did ask for help but of course got the right answer, which would not be what she was looking for. To add to it, it's not entirely clear the article's subject even meets WP:N. I don't want to be a stalker; I'd rather we gain a new productive editor...any assist would be appreciated. Frank | talk 13:43, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I'm going to continue to monitor here and the article itself. Hopefully someone can come up with something; her request on the help page yielded some responses. Thanks all. Frank | talk 22:32, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Is there any way to merge the edit history of The Conduit (video game) into The Conduit? The article was moved to the former back in April, and the latter became a redirect, at least until now when their roles have been reversed. I had done the initial moving because I thought "The Conduit" was too generic to be an article without the "(video game)" elaboration, and naturally loads of edits have happened between then and now which are no longer easily visible. I've heard of merging article histories somewhere, but I haven't the foggiest of where to go. Can you help? -- Comandante {Talk} 02:16, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

As for your question, I'm not having any luck suppressing it. Using #ifeq: as you tried should work, I'm not sure why it isn't ( see my test). The good news is, you don't have to transclude WP:RFPERM itself, just its three subpages, Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Acc, Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Rollback, and Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Rem. Those aren't too obtrusive when added, and it'll help people add new requests if they come across your userpage or whatever. I just looked, and I don't see any parsers to help with this, although you did give me a great idea for a feature request. Sorry I can't be of more help there.
Otherwise, vacation's going well, thanks. Should be back on regular editing in a couple weeks. Hersfold ( t/ a/ c) 21:55, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I made changes to several relevant pages in enviro tech and put a page up on the Green Technology Alliance. Any copyright issues I had full rights to do any "cut and paste" from the .org site. My changes on other pages were specifically to clean up etc. and add relevant areas, links etc. Much was deleted and so was the GTA page. Can you tell me what I did wrong? I looked at several others for a model and then tried to make it link primarily back to other wiki pieces. Thanks also if you could send a copy of the page back to me I would really appreciate it. I apologize if I violated any policy as I tried very hard not to. This issue is incredibly important and I would love to contribute extensively to related areas but can't take the time to do it if I am going to just get deleted. Thanks M-- Michelle.Naquin Juoly 19, 2008 10:56 CST Michelle.naquin ( talk) 15:57, 19 July 2008 (UTC)—Preceding unsigned comment added by Michelle.naquin ( talk • contribs) 15:55, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
I understand, I think the major issue is that it would be a conflict of interest and then the copyright obviously. I could rewrite the text so there is no copyright issue, but want to make sure that I am not putting myself and my other contributions in to a watch list. So if one or both of you tell me if I reword it I can repost I will otherwise I will leave it for now. We being the GTA have been written up in several external articles that I did not link to because I thought it would be a violation of "advertising."
For additional contributions I consider critical and would like to contritube to are for example, environmental technologies. Clean, Environmental, Green and Sustainable Technologies should and do have different definitions. What is the most appropriate way to address breaking these out and cleaning up the articles that exist under Green Computing, Green Building and the 4 types of technologies. As well there needs to be Green IT as a separate category, Green datacenters, etc. Also standards that are being developed in this space should have a separate entry. ..for your change to the talk page on the latest RfA. Slipped my mind : ) Wisdom89 ( T / C) 20:18, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Do you have any idea as how hypocritical your removal of the discussion at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Okiefromokla (which I have undone now, because this disruption of discussion cannot go on like that) comes off seeing how you were indeed the first one to respond to him in J.delanoy's RfA? Please don't disrupt good-faithed discussion like that. And when I put bold letters in there that say DO NOT REMOVE THIS GOOD-FAITHED CONSTRUCTIVE POSTING, I usually mean it, and please assume, if you find it in you, that I wrote that for a very good reason. Turns out I did. The point is that Kurt prefers to state his opinion in individual RfAs rather than a central discussion. It strictly follows that all the discussion to which he opens up his opinions by stating them must take place where he takes them: In those same RfAs. I regard removal of civil discussion as highly disruptive. Please don't do it again. user: Everyme 01:12, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
I'm asking for input/clarification at AN. user: Everyme 09:13, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for restoring it, hopefully it will stick, at least this one time. Btw, with regard to your comment at AN that it's "such a fine line". I had another look, and honestly I don't think it is. It started not to be a rational discussion about the oppose and how it relates to the candidate precisely with this comment, incidentally the minute before you first moved the thread. Whatever the best course of action —mind you, I readily accept that restoring the comments is merely my own POV, albeit for reasons laid out at AN—, a polite reminder to keep comments on track and not digress into detached meta-commentary, let alone of the type that discusses the contributor and speculates on his motivations might be a generally useful auxiliary in such situations. Granted, it takes two to tango, but often it takes only one to take a discussion downhill. user: Everyme 14:10, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
(outdent) Ah yes, about that... Your comment about the fine line at AN actually made me feel bad for my initial aggressive reaction. I'm quite aware that you moved the discussion not, as I assumed and alleged, in defense of Kurt but instead you were merely trying to do the best. I think you've mastered the challenge admirably, and if anything, the lesson that should stick is that you can trust your judgement and shouldn't hesitate to exercise discretion. Definitely preferable, in this case at least, over a wholesale removal out of the understandable but in your case unjustifed fear of doing the wrong thing. user: Everyme 14:39, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm surprised that you consider some questions "inappropriate," and yet you defend Kurt's right to oppose nearly every RfA with the same or similar reason and no explanation. I find the unique questions at every RfA to serve a valuable purpose - you cannot "game" the system by studying for a question that has never appeared before. I admit that my own random question was an easy one to answer, but it was still unexpected, a little off the beaten path, and useful to the RfA process. Part of the process is to see how a candidate reacts when something unexpected happens. I think we should leave it be, and even welcome it. Frank | talk 19:05, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
I think (to several above) that the point is that it's not for other editors to determine what is an appropriate question. It's a bit indelicate to make the suggestion of drug use here, so I won't go into examples, but supposing the user's answer reveals something that other editors find either a positive or a negative? Suppose the answer is rude? Suppose it's eloquent? I, for one, was mightily impressed by the haiku question and answer. I find these questions to be far more useful than any robotic opposes that come up. Also, I commented on WJBScribe's page but got no comment; not sure what (if anything) to make of that. But the bottom line is I don't think the warning is appropriate. Frank | talk 21:34, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
Hello Xenocidic. Don't you think the questions of Keepscases are funny? RfA is very stressful. His questions can help to reduce stress. Mr. Kurt is allowed to do whatever he likes. Nobody is doing enough to stop Kurt Weber. Questions of Keepscases are far better than Kurt’s nonsense. Masterpiece2000 ( talk) 05:03, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
(Re [65]) The WP:CFD/W page is permanently protected, so while normal editors could take care of moving the articles and whatnot, they wouldn't be able to update the page or add in anything, also meaning they couldn't close CFDs like they used to (adding to the backlog). Why they can't and the details behind it I don't hve a good knowledge of. Wizardman 20:45, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, after years of toiling away as an anon, that is the first such recog I've received, AFAIK -- so, thank you indeed! I am constantly aware of how painful it can be to work here, a reason for sticking with anon mode... (Just having a small innocuous edit knee-jerk reverted without explanation can be hard to take.) It is just such an obvious classic disaster, for a family member to get involved with a personal WP article, with that one article being their only experience with WP. I did not fully research the history of what happened, but it seemed like the people interacting with her did not realize just what kind of a process mess they were participating in. It seems like there should be some standard thing like what I wrote, to present to "outsiders" who get caught in the WP process meat grinder unawares? As Paul Newman was told, what we are dealing with here is a "failure to communicate"... - 69.87.199.246 ( talk) 02:16, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
I don't have a lot of time currently, so I was wondering if you could sort out James Barry for me. Somehow, {{ icu-triage}} was deleted and then restored as a redirect to one of User:Inclusionist's own projects. Please see if you can resurrect the original version. In addition, Inclusionist sorely needs to be blocked, as he consulted no one at all before taking on this effort to merge WP:WICU and WP:ARS into his project - more like a hijacking. (Re [78]) I have. The reason for my focus on ANi is my disapproval with some Admin's actions. I'm also confident in my policy knowledge having had a baptism by fire at my first "deep" article involvement at Kosovo. One thing I've noticed is WP:CIVIL is such an abused policy, and I feel my opinion is as valid as any at the AN/i. If you have specific problems with any of my comments please come and discuss them with me. I'm not as much of an asshole as it seems, I assure you. Oh, and if I didn't know any better I'd think your entry at my talk page was kind of a jab at me. But I'm sure you'll say you were only concerned for me or the project, right? The reason why I was so thankful that you alerted me to the ANI, is because studies on wikipedia showed that those who write first set the tone. So in a dispute on Wikipedia, it is vital post first or as close to first as possible.
Without your help User:Xenocidic, it could have been days before I was alerted to this ANI, and some of the wild accusations would have been seen as truth. This revert seems to have been made as part of a wholesale rollback of a user who was just blocked as a sock. I make no judgment as to the sock block (I'm not qualified), but the edit itself actually seemed almost correct:
“ | CEC Entertainment acquired the rights to the Discovery Zone name and logo, 13 fun centers and their contents, the leases of another seven stores and two parcels of undeveloped land for $19 million. CEC plans to convert as many as eight of the centers into Chuck E. Cheese's and continue to operate the remainder as Discovery Zones. CEC, which runs 333 Chuck E. Cheese's locations, is the fifth-largest pizza chain in the United States. - Stockwell, Jamie. The Washington Post. Washington, D.C.: Jun 26, 1999. pg. E.01 | ” |

(Re [82]) You know, somehow I knew something was backwards...anyway, I'd popped by to see about those MascotGuy socks and although the one in blocked, a few others are not. They are: User:Super Squirt Belly, User:Famous Squirt Belly, User:Outback Guy, User:Dancing Queen Guy (looks like we have us an ABBA fan) and User:Kookbelly, all created by User:Simon's Double Trouble Lifetime at the same time. The "Simon" account created what appears to be a genuinely legit (if obscure) article on the soundtrack for that new "Mamma Mia!" movie: Mamma Mia! The Movie Soundtrack Featuring the Songs of ABBA. I hate to see a legit article deleted even though I tagged it as a speedy, but house rules state that a hard banned user cannot edit at all, even if it's a legit edit. He'd done something almost two years ago (now deleted) on an obscure and totally NN freeway bridge in San Diego. You need to urgently look at this. It was moved without a proper discussion. The one who started the discussion is now a blocked sock puppet. The old page is now a disambiguation. The move doesn't follow the naming conventions. It needs to be addressed now because they are moving other pages to redirect to the new one. This is very controversial, as seen on the talk page and it has messed up many templates. Thanks for your intervention. Kevin Rutherford ( talk) 20:19, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
My reading of WP:NPA is that you are not allowed to attack a person's individuality, i.e. what makes them a person. You can target their actions. However, this only applies when there is a specific target. If you say: "idiots upset me so much", that may be inappropriate, but without a subject, there is no way to claim it is a personal attack. Sure, she may be misleading or incorrect for the second part of her statement, but I objected to "This bald-faced lie in regards to the personal attack diffs". Accusations of lying, even if correct, are still a violation of civility. Why? Because they escalate conflicts. We can prevent someone from harming the encyclopedia without accusing them of such things. Ottava Rima ( talk) 21:52, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Just a quick note because I've seen you move comments to preserve autonumbering in RfAs twice now (e.g. in Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/L'Aquatique#Neutral). The system is that the first comment with a leading "#" will be counted, whether or not it is indented as "#:". Usually, if the first !vote is withdrawn, it therefore isn't indented as "#:", and there is also no need to move another (not-withdrawn) !vote to the top to preserve numbering. Simply removing the leading "#" from all comments above the first 'active' !vote does the trick. user: Everyme 11:27, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello, Xeno, hope you are well. The guy who runs the bot that normally delivers the Judaism newsletter is on extended wikibreak for medical reasons and I was wondering if Xenobot could fill in? This is the newsletter:

User:L'Aquatique/wpjewlist. Note that because the newsletter covers multiple wikiprojects there may be some people who appear in more than one and it would be great if they didn't receive the newsletter multiple times. What else? Oh, it needs to be substed not transcluded if at all possible and if you could instruct it to deliver on the 2nd of August that would be perfect.
Oh, also, I've noticed you've been working on the account creation mailing list- excellent, we really need admins! The only advice I have for you is you don't really need to drag out the long lawyer-text-like notice for when they don't give a desired username. Just reply to both them and the list that they need to pick a username. Saves time! : )
Thanks again-

(Re [10]) I'm trying to update my User page, I have asked permission from User:Bahamut0013 to copy/paste; permission was granted. He is helping me out, he is going to edit the rest of the info that is "his" to "my info". We've been exchanging conversation, according to User talk:RekonDog. Learning how to use the coded text is a little complicated, so he allows me to copy and pasted what he has on his page so I can make it work on mine. Hi. Could you do me a favor and review the United States Senate election in Oregon, 2008. I removed a polling part that included two candidates that have dropped out. Another editor reverted the edit. The point is , that with the candidated gone, why should it be kept there. It really serves no purpose.

(Re [12]) It's no different than the fact we say " Mohamed al-Kahtani was allegedly a member of al-Qaeda..." - the lack of certainty is actually put in to improve BLP standards so that we are not treating accusations and charges appear to be fact. So no, I don't see any problem with saying someone was believed "to have possibly been one of the hostagetakers" providing that claim is verifiable - which in this case, it is.

(Re [35]) Hi there,
Approving your ACC request wasn't a problem :). Also, no problem regarding those comments, I was starting to learn about it, and found out that you're not supposed to vote like you said, but leave comments in favour/opposition, to state a reason why. Also, I've had worse comments from people, though they were a little puzzled by calling me an administrator! :D

That article has been here over 3 years, I believe it was or is a GA. My money's on ANI first... Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 14:40, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

...is now fully WP:HAU compatible; it had some issues with it before, mainly self-centered ones because I didn't expect someone to go advertising it with a bot. :-P Anyway, I have made some changes to it to improve the usage and accessibility, and while I think it's fully tested, please let me know if you notice anyone having problems with it. :) -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:46, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

e.g. check every 2 minutes...
last edit less than 5 minutes ago = online,
last edit 5-30 minutes ago = busy,

last edit >120 minutes ago = offline

A few weeks back, Orangemike deleted Plymouth Rock Studios on the account that it was unnotable. I disagreed with him and asked him to take a second look at his decision and he never responded. I guess I didn't realize how fast the deletion would happen (I'm new at Wikipedia, and I thought I had time to add stuff to the article so it won't be deleted). Anyway, it had been deleted a couple of days ago. I want to submit a more comprehensive article that I hope would be worth being included in Wikipedia. Will I be allowed to do this? If I will be allowed to do so, can I please get a copy of the most recent edit on the topic? Thanks.

However, as is traditional in these things, the candidate sends round a thank you template. But as my HTML skills aren't brilliant (way to go, admitting it now...), I thought a hand-typed, tailor-made message for each participant would be nicer. And a terser one would be better too, I realise now, having spent a few minutes typing this one, and I still have over fifty to go. Why didn't I ask Balloonman for help on that...? As for your question, I'm not having any luck suppressing it. Using #ifeq: as you tried should work, I'm not sure why it isn't ( see my test). The good news is, you don't have to transclude WP:RFPERM itself, just its three subpages, Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Acc, Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Rollback, and Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Rem. Those aren't too obtrusive when added, and it'll help people add new requests if they come across your userpage or whatever.
(Re [62]) Im sorry, i didnt mean to violate policy, i misread the "Bots (short for "robots") are generally programs or scripts that make automated edits without the necessity of human decision-making." One of the tasks the bot was performing is manual and i am in full control off (and dont need approval for), the other one (image tagging) was fully automatic, which is what you probably blocked it for (my bad).

Even after editing by several of his socks, it was little more than a two-sentence nanostub. So...what to do about this article? Thanks again for the tip. Best, -- PMDrive1061 ( talk) 14:18, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Hello! Could I ask your advice on where best to get some administrative assistance with disruptions to the Taekwondo article? I'd earlier posted a message to the incidents page ( here), but wanted to verify that I'd posted to the right place, or see if there might be some other more appropriate place to request assistance. Since you blocked him earlier this week, I thought I would let you know... he hasn't changed his attitude at all. He continues to attack AMIB here: Talk:List_of_characters_from_Sonic_the_Hedgehog_(games)#Dispute_resolution, as well as bad faith assuming/incivility here: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Video_games#List_of_characters_from_Sonic_the_Hedgehog_.28games.29. Unrelated question: I am giving user Amberknight85 advice regarding Jay McGovern. He had trouble with formatting and how to edit but I am helping him through that. However, the material he is adding is very much like a political ad. This is obviously not appropriate for wikipedia. How do I proceed? Washburnmav ( talk) 15:50, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Confirmed. Remove the protection. -- SkyWalker ( talk) 17:13, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
(Re [88]) No idea. "deprecating protected titles" = it was someone else's original protection by implementing the newer create=sysop system. Perhaps Sandstein ( talk · contribs) knows the backstory? Anyway, as the article's been to AfD, it probably needs to go to DRV. But I honestly have no idea what Red Steel is. -- MZMcBride ( talk) 17:29, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Check out the latest vandalization of my talk page. Its pretty absurd, even for my standards. Glad to see I'm annoying the worst of them. Washburnmav ( talk) 19:06, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Regarding this: Someone thinks I am a serial page-blanking-edit-reverter that deserves a spanking, further evidenced here. I think I pretty much do things the way you said, but there is some impression that I am doing otherwise. Can you find any evidence that I'm doing something untoward here? Sorry about the boo boo over at this guy's page, it had come to a stage where I got really mad at that bugga for constantly flouting wiki's policy on no personal attacks on other editors despite cautioning her/him on more than three separate occasions and the usage of weasel words on a few discussion pages as well as adding multiple coyvio entries in wikipedia. Anyway, thanks for correcting my mistake. Cheers! -- Dave1185 ( talk) 21:45, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Hello, Xeno, hope you are well. The guy who runs the bot that normally delivers the Judaism newsletter is on extended wikibreak for medical reasons and I was wondering if Xenobot could fill in? This is the newsletter:
Wikipedia:WikiProject Judaism/Newsletter, and the full list of recipients (everyone on that page, under all subheaders):

I see that you declined my speed delete of this image. I'm just curious why, because I feel it is blatant advertising. The image focus is solely on the logo of manufacturer. In the background you can make out a fuzzy rivet tool, but I don't think that justifies the use of the image. If you got to the talk page for the rivet article you'll notice that others think that the image is worthwhile either. I'm sure that a better image of a riveting tool can be found. Thanks! ...on this: the editor in question is clearly brimming with clue. I don't think you'll make or break this discussion, from the way things look so far, but it would be good to at least go neutral. Having been at it a few weeks myself, I can say from experience that the best experience is...experience. You can't possibly cover all the scenarios in advance; the overriding criterion has to be proper judgment. In the same way we want to turn editors toward expanding constructively, let's be careful to avoid overwhelming potential admins. If good editors are golden, good admins are... latinum (the Ferengi version), perhaps? Frank | talk 14:23, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
