Greetings. You are receiving this note as you are a member of this WikiProject. Currently there is not much of activity in the project and I am hoping to revive the project with your help. I have made a few changes to the project page Diff. You are welcome to make suggestions of improvement / changes in the design. I have also make a proposal to AutoTagg articles with WikiProject Computing for the descendant wikiprojects articles also. Please express your opinion here -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 12:59, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Hello. It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on others' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote—in order to influence User talk:21655. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. The way you worded it sounded completely biased. And sorry, but I don't wanna join WP:SOFTWARE. Sorry. 21655 ταλκ/ 01ҁ 14:12, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm sorry to inform you that I closed your RFA early per WP:NOTNOW. You'll find some excellent suggestions written in your RFA as to how to improve yourself as an editor. Most of the editors opposing your RFA cited a lack of experience, so over time, you may easily be able to put their concerns to rest. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Useight ( talk) 16:02, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Just in case you didn't see the message left on my talk page by Wisdom89, edits that should be marked as minor are generally: spelling fixes, grammar fixes, adding wikilinks, adding italics, etc. Other edits, such as adding content, would be considered major. Useight ( talk) 20:41, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
I'd prefer not to re-open your RFA, as it is not going to have a chance at being successful (as of the time I closed it, it was at 18% support when about 75% is necessary). If you're looking just to get some feedback, Editor Review is a good resource. However, if you really, really want it re-opened, I'll do it. Let me know. Useight ( talk) 21:58, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
You'll find that I have re-opened it per your request. Useight ( talk) 22:08, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
You RfA has now been re-closed by me. You may like to read up on our canvassing guidelines, I believe you may find them enlightening. Naerii 22:44, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for placing the project invite on my talk page. Would you mind me asking why it is you chose to invite me, as I don't really edit many software-related articles on Wikipedia? As it happens, I'm a comp. sci. graduate, so I might be of use, but of late I've been tending more to edit video game articles here on Wikipedia (purely because they need a lot of work), so I just wondered why you asked me in particular. :) Synergy/ Blades (Talk) 02:09, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Good to see your efforts for reviving WP:SOFTWARE , but please don't place messages like this while running for RFA. This is per policy of WP:CANVAS and looked upon very badly when during the RFA. I saw you were unsuccessful in your recent RFA , but dont make this 'mistake' if you are doing a RFA again . RfA is not a political campaign. The intent is to develop consensus. Impartial evaluation of a candidate, not how popular they are, is the goal. Canvassing is often looked down upon... Read WP:GRFA also... Just my 2 cents .. Best of luck for the future...-- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 03:08, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:NewDLR.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Natl1 ( Talk Page) ( Contribs) 14:17, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Sorry for bothering, but I don't think Redirects from Template Space (such as Template:Dell) to your user space are acceptable. What do you intend to do with those? You can also create templates in your user namespace, where no one will bother (they can be included as any normal templates can). Also, if you intend to use templates in your signature, just don't do it, as it's highly discuraged because of the server performance this requires. -- PaterMcFly ( talk) 09:07, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Please stop transcluding software-stub onto this template. I'm not sure what you're trying to do - if you're trying to make sure that the appropriate category is added, it is already added because all Windows stubs are automatically software stubs too. Thanks for uploading Image:NIS.GIF. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. More information: Wikipedia:Meetup/London 12
Hello,
I noticed that you have listed yourself as a Wikipedian in London, so I thought you might like to come to one of our monthly social meetups. The next one is going to be on Sunday 10 August, which might well be rather short notice, but if you can't come this time, we try to have one every second Sunday of the month.
If you haven't been before, these meetups are mainly casual social events for Wikipedia enthusiasts in which we chat about Wikipedia and any other topics we fancy. It's a great way to meet some very keen Wikipedians, but we'd also love for you to come along if you're interested in finding out more about Wikipedia, other Wikimedia projects, or other collaborative wiki projects too.
The location is a pub that is quite quiet and family friendly on a Sunday lunchtime, so hopefully younger Wikipedians will also feel welcome and safe. Alcohol consumption is certainly not required!
Although the meetups are popular, many UK-based editors still don't know about them. It would be great to welcome some fresh faces, so I hope you can come along.
Yours,
James F. ( talk) 09:27, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I just saw your signature over at WP:CFD. Those oversize letters are awfully distracting and somewhat disruptive to the flow of the page, and made me wonder why the user was trying to attract attention to himself. So I would urge you to give serious consideration to using a more normal font size. Cgingold ( talk) 01:37, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
Can you customize it so that ALL messages for WP:Software appear under the announcement section as subsections (I'm assuming its bot-controlled) instead of normal sections, cause otherwise, it'll get confusing to figure out which one is software/which isn't/easier on the organization for me. ηoian ‡orever ηew ‡rontiers 00:26, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
I don't need the whole list of archived announcements, nor do I need a list of to-dos, nor do I need the announcements to always be at the top of my talk page. Rather, there should be some bot where an announcement is made as its own new section at the bottom of the members' talk pages. Althepal ( talk) 05:27, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Thanks for uploading
Image:SoftwareLogo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate
copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like PD-self (to release all rights), CC-by-sa-3.0
(to require that you be credited), or any tag
here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. -- MifterBot ( Talk • Contribs • Owner) 23:43, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
It was just a simple gradient with the color of the software project background thingy and white. I'm trying to make a .svg version, but I'm not good at illustrator (prefer photoshop/gimp), and it looks awkward atm, since I'm probably not doing things correctly. Here is the gradient: [1]
Here is what I have done of the svg version (which is messed up since the text is jagged instead of smooth like it should be, someone else who's familiar with .svg needs to make the .svg version instead) [2]
Do you want me to replace the current logo with the alternative one (I clone stamped the colon out since I didn't save the psd file)? Done, assuming its okay.

A tag has been placed on File:LiveUpdate.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image which is not under a free license or in the public domain and it has not been used in any article for more than seven days.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —

(This is going to come off gruffer than it's intended to because I'm not awake yet.) Aha. I see I've given you a notnow template before. You did not heed that advice. The biggest overall problem is your lack of activity. You need 100's of edits a month to gain the needed experience, stay current with current policy and to build the 'pedia. You need to review thousands of articles to become proficient at recognizing when to tag for deletion. The "Wikibreak" notice on your talk page is a little off-putting for someone at RFA. That needs to not be there the next time. Don't know why the US flag appears in the Navigation column of the User page, but it is not helpful there. The whole prior username/anon contribs comes out a bit strained. Stick to one user name and build another 3,000+ edits with it. I am not one for a hefty article building requirement, but others are and you need more of that. From my standpoint, you need much more experience in admin related areas. I go for the traditional article patrolling with an eye to improving articles and reverting unconstructive edits. Many new articles need improvement in some way. Those that meet CSD criteria need to be tagged as such. Unconstructive edits need to be reverted, the editor notified of the reversion, and if the problem persists past a full set of warnings, the editor needs to be reported at WP:AIV. Cheers, Dloh cierekim 13:37, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
I have removed your featured article candidate nominations ( Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Norton 360/archive1 and Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Norton Internet Security/archive1) at this time. Per the featured article instructions, principal contributors must be consulted before a nomination, and nominations should be made one at a time. I appreciate that you are acting in good faith, but it is best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. In this way, they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar enough with the sources to act on suggested improvements. If I have missed some communication indicating that the significant contributors to the articles do indeed support the nominations, please feel free to resubmit one of the articles to FAC. Yes, I would be happy to be your admin coach. Occasionally I may have to take some wiki-breaks for a few days because of some trips that I need to go on, but I will be on Wikipedia for most of this summer. You seem to be a great editor, and as the people in your last RFA said, which I just looked at, you need to work on things like nominating candidates for speedy deletion, and patrolling Recent Changes. When I became an admin 5 years ago, I managed to get confirmed without previously doing much of these activities, but that was a different and less sensative period in Wikipedia's history. After I became an admin, I started these activities and began to enjoy them. Let me know if you have any questions, and I look forward to looking at more of your contributions later. Academic Challenger ( talk) 01:28, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
I would be glad to be your coach. I notice that Academic Challenger already posted above, and Richardshusr has already created your admin coaching page; we can co-coach you if you wish. It seems that your RFA's have failed because of lack of experience. A few years ago, your RFA's might have passed, but since then the standards have been raised. I can help you get acquainted with admin-related areas; it is up to you to get enough edits by becoming more active. I do request that you do not nominate yourself for adminship or accept anyone's nomination but ours; one of us will nominate you when you are ready. I will post updates User:Tyw7/Admin coaching periodically, so be sure to watchlist it. Reply to any message posted on there, so we know you read it. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 04:50, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi Tyw7, I have seen you making comments about the group of "Rouge Admins" and seemingly voicing the opinion that they are at the root of vandalism. I think you may be seriously misunderstanding the nature of the title "rouge admin" and I think this may be a cntributing factor to your lack of succes at your RfA's. Rouge Admin is not an actual group of administrators who enjoy vandalising wikipedia and doing all of the other godless acts they say they subscribe to on their page - rather the page and the description of rouge admins should be understood as sarcasm. They are a group of administrators who have been accused of all of these actions by editors whom they have annoyed with their administrator actions - for example a blocked user may accused the blicking admin of being a "rouge admin" (notice that rouge is a deliberate misspelling of rogue mocking how less than fully literate vandals often write the word) or "a fascist" or part of a "Cabal" dedicated to hide the turth about x "fact" that the blocked user was trying to include in wikipedia. The rouge admins are then simply administrators who are not scared of engaging in difficult administrator actions against problem users - even a the risk of being called the worst kinds of names and being attributed the worst kinds of motives. They call them self "rouge admins" to show as a badge of honour that they deal with problem users and have received such kinds of responses by problem users. If you get to be an admin you might well experience being called a "rouge admin" when you use the admin tools against such users or have to moderate disputes in delicate areas of wikipedia, are you ready for that? ·Maunus·ƛ· 23:08, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi Tyw7. I currently have a netbook, and am unable to correct the mistakes found in the FA review. Its small keyboard and screen make editing Wikipedia tedious. Could you fix the mistakes found? Another fail would be a demerit to the article. Or, you could withdraw the article if you so wish, correcting the mistakes without a timeframe. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. Sorry I haven't contacted you in a long time. I was actually a little busy myself. So how is it going? If you have anything new to add, anything you learned, or any questions you would like to ask me, feel free to make a comment at User:Tyw7/Admin coaching#July 2009. For the questions you asked on the page, XFD stands for anything for deletion, such as WP:AFD, WP:RFD, WP:TFD, etc. Meta-philosophies are basically: are you a inclusionist or an deletionist? That is, do you believe that Wikipedia should strive to include everything, or be more limited like a traditional encyclopedia? It's OK to be neither. For instance, I would not place myself in either category. There are also different levels of each: you might be a strong inclusionist, weak inclusionist, weak deletionist, or strong deletionist. With that said, you do need a lot more experience in deletion. Go to today's AfD log and participate in some discussions now! :-)
Also, it would be convenient if you could install Qui. Qui allows users to update their status and check whether somebody else is online. Paste this in your monobook.js:

help How do I make the notice above the edit box like when I was editing SoWhy user talk page. -- Tyw7 ( Talk • Contributions) 16:43, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
You could just look at the code by editing the page, see how it was done. The very first bit is , which transludes that subpage. Looking at User:SoWhy/Header, it has this code;
<div style="font-variant:small-caps; font-size: 16px; text-align: center; margin-bottom: 5px; font-weight: bold;"> <span style="color: #AC0000">About me</span>bullet <span style="color: #35628F">Talk</span>bullet <span style="color: #AC0000">Contributions</span>bullet <span style="color: #35628F">Barnstars</span>bullet <span style="color: #AC0000">Mistakes</span>bullet <span style="color: #35628F">Essays</span> </div>
So, you could change the references there to your own username, and then put that at the top of your page to get a similar banner.

If the account the request is too similar to is inactive, defer the request by clicking "Defer to account creators" (these users can just go ahead and create the account). However I think that username is not a valid username since it is misleading.
Ask about it in the acc help channel. I would say deny it because I think such username is not alloyed

Well I saw a 378 at Stratford station one evening last week, but by the time I got to the new platforms it had pulled out LOL! 390s are out of my remit so to speak, as my collection is mostly stations within the M25, and the 390 doesn't stop anywhere within the M25 (save for Watford) so I have never been on one of these trains! Hi, sorry I don't have a lot of time right now. To get to the point though, I don't think any mobile phone camera is going to take good photos. I honestly don't look into them much to tell you which ones are better or worse, but the basic point is that they are really only for emergency use as far as I'm concerned. You're never going to produce FP quality images using a phone camera, at least not with any model I know of or can foresee.
For FPC the basic requirement is that your images are at least 1000 pixels on at least one side. In practice bigger is usually preferred, especially for big things like buildings (and train stations, trains, etc). To give you an idea, an image of 1000 x 1000 pixels would be 1 megapixel. There are many images under 2MP still being promoted, but usually they're of bugs and birds and that type of thing. Nonetheless my point is don't be fooled by the megapixel measurement. Trade good quality for megapixels any day - if having twice the megapixels means you simply have to downsample to half the size to get the same quality, you're gaining nothing, but that is as often as not the case. IMO no phone camera should be more than about 2MP in reality as the lenses etc simply can't handle bigger resolutions. The rest is just marketing.
Re what settings to use that depends on what camera you have and what it lets you do. It also of course depends on what you're taking at the time. Composition is again something you need to learn through practice and through observing other people's images. Can I suggest for starters that whether you want to vote or not, you visit FPC regularly and see what images are regarded as well composed. After a while you may start to get more of a feel for your own composition. The other thing is to divorce yourself from ownership of your own images. What I mean is take them home, put them on your computer, and say I don't care who took this, if I saw this would I think it was a well composed image - really be honest with yourself and look for things that are wrong. If you want to discuss a particular image I could give some suggestions, but for example I mentioned at PPR that those shots just looking straight across the station weren't very engaging, with the one looking diagonally across being better. Open them both up, forget you took them, and see if you can see any reasons why I'd say the diagonal one is better.
Drop me another note if I can be of any more help, or if you'd like some advice on buying a real camera. -- jjron ( talk) 08:35, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

I have closed Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Cassio Carved Bridge and Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Staffordstation as the images were simply not of a high enough quality. To echo what jjron said above, your camera is simply not good enough to produce featured quality level shots. Be aware that a lot of our photographers are spending hundreds of pounds on equipment for their photography- I myself paid around £400 for my camera (which is not nearly as good as many people are using), and I am going to look into investing more (for a tripod, for a start) so that I can hopefully start contributing pictures of a higher standard. If you are interested in the featured picture process, I strongly advise you spend some time around the featured picture candidates page, getting an idea of what is expected, and I would also advise taking the advice of those who offer it- jjron's advice above is very sound. I hope you take a closer look at the editsdiffs presented at [ [5]].I understand you warning me based on a brief look the presented editdiffs. But the list list is not correct and the characterizing of the edits are tendentious to speak mildly. In conclution most of those edits ar not only of good faith but easyly motivated as ordinary editin within wikipedias policys and benefiting the article. I editing an responce on the side and if needed an detailed explanation and analyse of each of the edit. It is possibly that as a whole whole accusation can be called false and a personal attack in a more calculated way than those presented before. If so found I think it is a very severe violation by Jiujitsuguy (and Stellarkid ( talk), not be taken lightly. Untill further noted I stay away from reverting and keep a low profile at the article. Regards Mr Unsigned Anon ( talk) 21:22, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi, Tyw7. I wanted to weigh in since I just saw my contribution here. I did spend a fair amount of time on that list, but as in all things there may be (probably are) errors. I did not really expect it to be in an official forum or I would have double-checked everything. It was motivated by what I saw as a systematic attempt at removing and destroying material that had been put in by other experienced editors, and being reverted (not sure they were all technically reverts, but certainly they were in spirit) with little to no policy-driven arguments. When you remove the crux of the material that someone puts in, it essentially reverts the idea. I was really attempting to document what I was seeing, and for any mistakes I do apologize. I don't apologize for having made the attempt to document, though. MrUnsignedAnon came into the article on the 24th September with a very strong POV and went so far as to suggest to Juijits (have a hard time with the spelling, so, "Jui") (more than once) that he recuse himself from all Israel-Palestinian area editing. Frankly I was outraged by that. (will those diffs if you insist, but would be happier to move on). And by the way, I think how you handled this so far was very fair. It looks as if an important compromise has been reached in the lede as well. Not sure why, or how, but maybe you stepped in at the right moment! So, thank you. Stellarkid ( talk) 04:31, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Symantec.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on
the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from File:Symantec.png, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a hangon tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Chzz ► 23:58, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
It is not appropriate to impose any conditions on copyright, such as "If you are a (commercial) publisher and want to relicense my pictures please email me first at [email redacted]. ".
The CC licence covers the attribution in detail; please do not add your own conditions; doing so will invalidate the licence. Chzz ► 00:08, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
Your recent addition to
File:Symantec.png has been removed, as it appears to have added
copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For
legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be

The last message u left on my talk page was whether I can provide u with the Diffs that gave rise to my allegations against Mr Unsigned Anon. You indicated that based on those Diffs u may be able to have him blocked for disruptive editing. Before I was able to compile the list, I was blocked for 1 week by another admin becuase Anon alleged that I violated 3R policy. I wasn't even given an opportunity to respond. In any event, I've compiled the list of Diffs you requested.
Here [ [14]] he is warned to stop engaging in disruptive reverts.
Here [ [15]] he makes inquiries about my race.
Here [ [16]] he accuses me of working for the Israeli government and also makes derogatory accusations based on alleged demographics.
Here [ [17]] he asks me about the weather in Brooklyn based on his belief that I live there.
Here [ [18]] he makes reference to my bank account on the Gaza discussion page.
Here [ [19]] he taunts me to engage him in an edit war.
And they block me. I am asking that you intervene and at the very least, impose the same sanction on him. It doesn't make a difference if you're 17 or 77, you have the ability to address overt racism and disruptive editing practices.-- Jiujitsuguy ( talk) 04:34, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

The images do not qualify for free use as the photographer and production company that produced them did not release them under a free license, they have the images under copyright. We will only use a copyrighted file if it is absolutely needed and there is no chance that a free image could take it's place. This isn't a matter of what you do and don't believe, this is a matter of legality. Feel free to add the pictures of the cast members found on their respective pages. These images have been released under a free license and this has been verified to be true, the images in question are not. It is explicitly stated that the image's are copyrighted. ς ح д r خ є 01:59, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading File:AlexRusso.jpg.

Thank you. Mifter ( talk) 02:22, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Fileinsight.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

I made an edit adding that WWE Raw is the longest running show to have NOT taken a hiatus, and you changed it back. It is very misleading to plainly say that Raw is the longest running show when it is clearly not. Check out the edit history. Yes, your edit summary included a tiny "(HG)" linking to Huggle at the end of what otherwise appears to be the standard automated revert summary; you can't possibly think that's sufficient to indicate that you're removing vandalism using an Anti-Vandal tool, and that if this is a false positive I should assume good faith and kindly tell you about it. In fact, I know you don't think that the (HG) is sufficient, because for most of your other edits you spell out that message quite clearly!
When I saw you'd responded on my Talk page, here's what I thought I might find: an explanation of what happened (that the whole process was automated, or that you simply weren't paying enough attention, or something else) and particularly of why you used no real edit summary; a brief apology for the hassle; and some vague assurance (perhaps completely empty but with at least a courteous air of sincerity) that you would try to avoid similar mistakes in the future. (A note and/or strike-out indicating that the warnings you gave me are total BS would also have been nice.) Instead, you chose to tell me it was my fault for somehow randomly picking the wrong words in my edit summary, and also my fault because I was less than completely gracious in the face of your thoroughly rude and unwarranted harassment and attempts to have me blocked. I don't know if this kind of crap is why your previous RFAs failed, but I'll be looking out for your next one. 24.126.115.61 ( talk) 19:01, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
Hey, Tyw7. When dropping an in use template on an article, it's best practice to check the edit history to ensure someone else isn't already actively editing the article at that time. If someone is, as in the case of NuclearWarfare on The End of Time, you should wait a bit, or message them to request they let you know when they're done. Also, if you encounter an edit conflict, do not save your edit over theirs. It undoes all of their work. Let me know if you have any questions. Lara ☁ 02:11, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi Tyw, I noticed that you performed a non-admin closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chronology of the Doctor Who universe. However, there are several reasons why this may not have been a good idea:
I have therefore re-opened the debate. For more information about when it's appropriate to do a non-admin closure, see WP:DPR#NAC. The WP:NAC essay may also contain information you may find useful. Regards, decltype ( talk) 13:36, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Make sure you're searching for compatibility view (not any of the variants you've typed above - this is not a crack at you, search engines have no sense and don't pick up on when you've accidentally used the wrong word the way a real live human does). However, it's generally not considered good form in internet accessibility circles to attempt to force a browser to operate in a quirky way to fix a rendering problem, as it can prevent people from using accessibility options in the browser, 3rd party accessibility software, or certain hardware.

Thanks for uploading Image:NIS.GIF. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Hello,
I noticed that you have listed yourself as a Wikipedian in London, so I thought you might like to come to one of our monthly social meetups.

You could just look at the code by editing the page, see how it was done. The very first bit is , which transludes that subpage. Looking at User:SoWhy/Header, it has this code;

If the account the request is too similar to is inactive, defer the request by clicking "Defer to account creators" (these users can just go ahead and create the account). If the account the request is too similar to is active, then click "Similar" to close the request as too similar to an active account

Ty, I am such an ass. I failed to leave you a message that your proposed barnstar is being discussed at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Wikipedia Awards#Proposed Image Barnstar. Please join our discussion. Sorry I forgot to do this earlier. Un sch ool 03:51, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Your recent addition to

Yes. You do have Aero, so please use Window Clippings to capture high-quality images.

Regards, decltype ( talk) 13:36, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
helpme How to force IE8 to display this page in compactablity view: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Software? The meta tag method doesn't work. -- Tyw7 ( Talk • Contributions) Changing the world one edit at a time! 15:01, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
I saw some users imitating the "new message" bar on their talk page as a joke. Is this allowable? As long as I remember, there is a policy that says do not copy features of the Mediawiki software. Please clarify. -- Tyw7 ( Talk • Contributions) Changing the world one edit at a time! 15:01, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
