Why on earth was I pinged for this? I removed a stray bit of code back in 2008, I have zero interest in this article. Huntster ( t @ c) 18:41, 13 April 2023 (UTC) reply

Nobel Prize redirects

Hi Huntster, thanks so much for your help with my query on Wikidata. I just wanted to query your change of the redirect target for 1989 Nobel Peace Prize? Although I’ll admit I’m not very familiar with the subject on-wiki, there seems to be a precedent from what I can see for such redirects to target the section of a person/organisation’s article that mentions the award, rather than the List of Nobel Peace Prize laureates. Examples: 2008 Nobel Peace Prize, 2006 Nobel Peace Prize, 2004 Nobel Peace Prize, 2003 Nobel Peace Prize, etc.

I’m happy to add a listing at RfD to gain a clearer consensus if that’s what’d be best, however I just wanted to check for your thoughts on the matter.

@ A smart kitten: You are welcome to change it back, I have no skin in this game. In my experience, it's unusual to link to individual person's articles when lists of greater scope are available, but if they consistently do it with the Nobel series, then that's fine. To be honest, I don’t really have any skin in the game either - I was just trying to create redirects in a series where some were missing. I might well open an RfD at some point to check what the consensus is. Thanks again for your help! A smart kitten ( talk) 23:15, 31 August 2023 (UTC) reply
