G'day everyone, the voting for the XIX Coordinator Tranche is at the halfway mark. The candidates have answered various questions, and you can check them out to see why they are running and decide whether you support them. Project members should vote for any candidates they support by 23:59 (UTC) on 28 September 2018. Thanks, Peacemaker67 ( click to talk to me) 07:36, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
Kirill, thanks for making the disclosure that you did. The RfA has been withdrawn now. Would you be willing to discuss some of this further? What I specifically wanted to ask you was what your views are on ArbCom overturning the WMF ban of Fram? If you would prefer me to ask this at a WMDC-specific location or wiki, I can do that. I can see it is awkward, because the press release was from WMDC, but I see that you hold strong personal views yourself on this yourself. I was also looking through the category of WMDC press releases and see that there were a lot of press releases in 2012 and less in other years (1 in 2011, 6 in 2012, 2 in 2013, 1 in 2014, 1 in 2016, 1 in 2017, 2 in 2018 and 1 in 2019). A lot of them are funding announcements. There are three that I would say are clearly advocating a position (the ones that start 'statement on'): Official statement of Wikimedia DC on SOPA and PIPA; Wikimedia DC statement supporting Senate action to restore Net Neutrality; and the most recent one Wikimedia DC Statement on Terms of Use Enforcement. How common is it for WMDC to take stances like that, and how common is it for Wikimedia chapters in general to be doing that sort of thing (I can see how it can be a good thing, I can also see how it might be really difficult to agree on wordings for things like that!)? Carcharoth ( talk) 15:18, 27 September 2019 (UTC)

The third grant-funded round of
WikiProject X has been completed. Unfortunately, while this round has not resulted in a deployed product, I am not planning to resume working on the project for the foreseeable future. Please see the

Hello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}

G'day Kirill, just a heads-up that Italian War of 1521–1526 is on the list ( WP:URFA/2020) of old FAs that need checking ahead of a possible FAR. I had a quick look, and there are a few issues, but it wouldn't take much to bring it back up to solid FA. Given you were the major contributor, would you mind having a crack at it? Good Morning,
I submitted a page for Betsperts Media & Technology group last week, I saw it was denied due to "unambiguous promotion" and I wanted to get some details on how I can correct that. I noticed the page I put together was similar to other companies like ours in the sports gambling industry like the Action Network's page. I'd very much like to get a Wikipedia page up for our company, if there's anything further I can do to accomplish that please let me know. Thank you

News and updates for administrators from the past month (August 2021).
Nominations for the upcoming project coordinator election are still open, but not for long. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes. They do not, however, have any authority over article content or editor conduct, or any other special powers. More information on being a coordinator is available here. If you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 UTC on 14 September! No further nominations will be accepted after that time. Voting will commence on 15 September. If you have any questions, you can contact any member of the current coord team. MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 02:43, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

A recently closed Request for Comment (RFC) reached consensus to remove Autopatrolled from the administrator user group. You may, similarly as with Edit Filter Manager, choose to self-assign this permission to yourself. This will be implemented the week of December 13th, but if you wish to self-assign you may do so now. Hello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks.
Thank you!

The file File:Triplechevron icon 2.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the

Thank you for reverting the deletions. It's a controversial moment (he's up for a university presidency) and there may be more of the same--any chance you can make the page semi-protected? There have been three episodes of vandalism. See also User_talk:Malcolmxl5#Richard_Corcoran_page. 71.209.71.229 ( talk) 02:12, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

May I ask how Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Operation Majestic Titan was coded into the Mil History template? I was wanting to do a similar thing for another project so wikiwork is created. Noah Talk 20:21, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Thank you

Nominations for the upcoming project coordinator election are now open. Voting doesn't commence until 15 September. If you have any questions, you can contact any member of the coord team. MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 01:58, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

I have nominated Italian War of 1521–1526 for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. SandyGeorgia ( Talk) 21:30, 10 November 2021 (UTC)

To find out when the change has gone live or if you have any questions please visit the Administrator's Noticeboard. 20:06, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
