Hi Edwin - the Ruisdael page is coming along nicely! I just noticed your edit to the reference work by Hofstede de Groot. The reason I keep referring to it as published in 1911 is because though he wrote it in German, he did write it in 1911. The English translation is from 1912, but I think historically (especially when he writes about the whereabouts of paintings) it is better to keep to his original publishing date. In this volume the lag is only one year, but in subsequent volumes the lag becomes quite large. Jane ( talk) 13:31, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
Sorry I missed supporting this. I will add what I said - remind me if I haven't in a week or two. You could bring it back after a bit more polishing and dealing with remaining points. Johnbod ( talk) 13:28, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

As for other people's specific comments, I have addressed them all I believe. Just left with your suggestion to polish. I will try to get some copywriting help. Thanks. Edwininlondon ( talk) 18:38, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
@ Johnbod: Hi Johnbod. You asked me to remind you about you adding something about low status of landscape vs history, and maybe other things you feel are still missing before I bring it back to FAC. I think I have got prices, popularity of landscapes, and tonal v classical covered. It still needs a prose polish by a native speaker, but I've got someone lined up. Thanks for your help. Hi Edwininlondon, thanks for all the corrections you've made to Borscht. I have a question about one of them, though. You've corrected "the Russian Navy borscht... whose defining characteristic is..." to "the defining characteristic of which is..." I'm not a native speaker of English, so I'd like to better understand the nature of the grammatical mistake I made here. I thought "whose" could refer to both personal and non-personal antecedents, being the possessive case of both "who" and "which". Is it not the case? — Kpalion (talk) 14:08, 28 April 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the nudge! I didn't realise the phrase had been used in a source, I think it mostly stood out as being oddly informal, and skimming the article there didn't seem to be a huge distinction between the insides and outsides of labs (Anseel and Duyck were presumably still reading through their large data set "in a lab"). Rereading the article, though, I can see the early stuff is certainly a lot more experiment-based than I thought it was. Feel free to change it back, or to use something else that puts the focus on attempts to find supporting evidence in real-world data. Greetings. I see on the WP:FAC page that you have done a lot of recent prose reviews. I'm looking for someone to do a simple prose review of the Carolwood Pacific Railroad article here: Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Carolwood Pacific Railroad/archive1. It's part of the Disney train article series, and one of those, the Walt Disney World Railroad, will be the featured article on the main page on 25 March. Over the past two months, it has successfully completed an image and source review and has five confirmed supporters, so once a prose review is done, it will be ready for promotion. I now have a new FAC page for the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant article here: Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Ford Piquette Avenue Plant/archive1. It's a very old car factory that's remarkably preserved, and it's where the Ford Model T was created. It's a pretty significant historical site, and the fact that it has survived for over a century in its original state in the middle of Detroit (which is notorious for arson, among other crimes) is nothing short of a miracle. If you have a moment, consider doing a review of this one, please. Jackdude101 talk cont 15:06, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

The article How Democracies Die has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable book lacking in-depth, non-trivial support.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach

I know I owe you a review on Manon Melis which I intend to get to later. Anyway, all the best, and keep making great content. Dear Edwininlondon. You indicated at the end of the GA for Betsy that you would be ready to review a nomination of mine. I have nominated Charles MacCarthy, 1st Viscount of Muskerry for GA. You will find it under Royalty, Nobility and Heraldry. I don't want the FAC page to degenerate into some unnecessary back-and-forth, so I'll just clarify here in response to Special:Diff/1149906863: in case you were under some other impression, I am another reviewer, not the nominator. I would expect reviewers of my nominations to either quote an FA criterion/policy/guideline if challenged on a particular comment or drop the comment. As it's not my nomination, however, I won't press any further. — Bilorv ( talk) 10:08, 15 April 2023 (UTC)

@ Johnbod: Hi Johnbod. You asked me to remind you about you adding something about low status of landscape vs history, and maybe other things you feel are still missing before I bring it back to FAC.

A few months ago, you left some very helpful comments on the FAN page for the article Astronomica. Unfortunately, in the middle of the nomination, I realized that I had neglected part of a peer-review, and so I withdrew the nomination. Since then, I have implemented those changes and had the article copy-edited, and today I just re-nominated the article at FAN. I was wondering if you could leave a few comments as before? I assure you that the article is much better now! Thanks!-- Gen. Quon (Talk) 15:16, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach

Hi. There should be no problem. I checked back on that article and it was moved to draft because the person who originally created it hadn't included any references. Then he/she never bothered to work on it any more so it was deleted after being in draft for six months and never submitted for review. What you've done so far looks fine; you should just submit the draft for review and it will be moved to article space, so the red link will turn blue. Deb ( talk) 09:27, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

By the authority vested in me by myself it gives me great pleasure to present you with a bar for this award in recognition of the thorough, detailed and actionable reviews you have continued to carry out at FAC. This work is very much appreciated. Gog the Mild ( talk) 21:23, 6 July 2022 (UTC) |
Dear Edwininlondon. You indicated at the end of the GA for Betsy that you would be ready to review a nomination of mine. I have nominated Charles MacCarthy, 1st Viscount of Muskerry for GA. You will find it under Royalty, Nobility and Heraldry. I would be very pleased if you could have a look and review it if it is not too off-putting or too far from your expertise for you to take on (I would understand this). With many thanks, Johannes Schade ( talk) 07:46, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
Hey, how's it going? I see you've reviewed football-related articles for FA in recent years. A.C. Monza has been a candidate for over three weeks, and there are almost no comments. I would really appreciate it if you took some time to leave a comment (it doesn't necessarily have to be a full review) :) Nehme 1499 21:09, 16 July 2022 (UTC)

Dear Edwininlondon. Thank you so much for your GA review of Charles MacCarthy, 1st Viscount Muskerry. This is only my second GA. Please do not hesitate to call on me if there is anything I can help you with. Best regards, Johannes Schade ( talk) 05:30, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
You kindly commented in a FAC Ich will den Kreuzstab gerne tragen, BWV 56 back in 2018 - we are now in the next round, and I'd appreciate your input now. -- Gerda Arendt ( talk) 21:39, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
Saw that you reviewed another FAC recently. Would you be so kind as to offer a review for this article? Wikipedia:Featured_article_candidates/Texas_A&M_University/archive3? Buffs ( talk) 16:43, 29 August 2022 (UTC)

Hello! I nominated Li Rui for FA status, but the review is now at risk of being archived because there have not been many comments. Would you be willing to jump in and share your thoughts on the article? You previously were a GA reviewer for one of my other two FAs ( Mary Jane Richardson Jones), which I really appreciated. Thank you! — Ganesha811 ( talk) 14:08, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
