It is located in the western central part of the krai. The area of the district is 2,082 square kilometers (804 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Romanovo. [1] Population: 13,179 ( 2010 Russian census); [3] 15,412 ( 2002 Census); [6] 16,111 ( 1989 Soviet census). [7] The population of Romanovo accounts for 42.7% of the district's total population. [3]
