Yeltsovsky District ( Russian: Ельцо́вский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [4] district ( raion), one of the fifty-nine in Altai Krai, Russia. It is located in the east of the krai. The area of the district is 2,158 square kilometers (833 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Yeltsovka. [1] Population: 6,339 ( 2010 Russian census); [3] 7,923 ( 2002 Census); [6] 9,232 ( 1989 Soviet census). [7] The population of Yeltsovka accounts for 45.1% of the district's total population. [3]
