Burlinsky District ( Russian: Бурли́нский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [4] district ( raion), one of the fifty-nine in Altai Krai, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the krai. The area of the district is 2,746 square kilometers (1,060 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Burla. [1] Population: 12,042 ( 2010 Russian census); [3] 15,005 ( 2002 Census); [6] 16,419 ( 1989 Soviet census). [7] The population of Burla accounts for 35.7% of the district's total population. [3]
Lakes Bolshoye Topolnoye and Peschanoye, as well as the Burla river, are located in the district. [8]
