Suyetsky District ( Russian: Суетский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [4] district ( raion), one of the fifty-nine in Altai Krai, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the krai. The area of the district is 1,108 square kilometers (428 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Verkh-Suyetka. [1] As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 5,120, with the population of Verkh-Suyetka accounting for 43.4% of that number. [3]
The district was established on January 15, 1944 when Altai Krai was divided into districts. [2] It was abolished in 1962 and re-established in 1989. [2]
