It is located in the northwest of the krai. The area of the district is 2,700 square kilometers (1,000 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Pankrushikha. [1] Population: 13,364 ( 2010 Russian census); [3] 16,763 ( 2002 Census); [6] 17,591 ( 1989 Soviet census). [7] The population of the administrative center accounts for 36.8% of the district's total population. [3]
