Zavetinsky District ( Russian: Заве́тинский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [4] district ( raion), one of the forty-three in Rostov Oblast, Russia. The area of the district is 3,000 square kilometers (1,200 sq mi).[ citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Zavetnoye. [1] Population: 17,250 ( 2010 Census); [2] 18,508 ( 2002 Census); [6] 18,638 ( 1989 Soviet census). [7] The population of Zavetnoye accounts for 41.0% of the district's total population. [2]
The district is located in the southeast of the oblast. The Yergeni hills rise to the east. [8]
