Tarasovsky District ( Russian: Тара́совский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [4] district ( raion), one of the forty-three in Rostov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,767.47 square kilometers (1,068.53 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement) of Tarasovsky. [1] Population: 29,802 ( 2010 Census); [3] 32,608 ( 2002 Census); [6] 33,639 ( 1989 Soviet census). [7] The population of the administrative center accounts for 30.3% of the district's total population. [3]
