To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.

  • Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
  • Offer a correction if possible.
  • References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
  • Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 17:58 on 27 June 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
  • Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
  • Do not use {{ edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
  • No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
  • Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
  • Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

  • ... that Arndt Jorgens (pictured) won five World Series despite not playing in a game? The article specifies those were World Series games, but this can easily be misconstrued as him not having played in any baseball games whatsoever (which sounds ridiculous, but it is the Did You Know? section after all). 2603:8001:4542:28FB:4851:9881:74A1:FAC2 ( talk) 01:58, 27 June 2024 (UTC) (Talk is here) reply
I have absolutely no idea how someone would come to such a conclusion. SL93 ( talk) 02:08, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply
Thinking over it again, I do get your point. What would you suggest? SL93 ( talk) 02:14, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply
Perhaps despite not playing in any of the Series' games? or despite not playing in any of the tournaments' games?. 2603:8001:4542:28FB:ACE7:7B03:1A98:98AB ( talk) 04:15, 27 June 2024 (UTC) (Talk is here) reply
Any thoughts, Muboshgu? Schwede 66 06:40, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply
It's fine the way it is. RoySmith-Mobile ( talk) 09:41, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply
I understand the point, but don't think a change is necessary. It's more hook-y this way. –  Muboshgu ( talk) 14:45, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply
@ Schwede66: I just came here to say the same thing. The article qualifies it as World Series games, and the hook should do likewise. Cheers  —  Amakuru ( talk) 14:25, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply
No, he was on his team's roster for five World Series. His team won all, but he never played in any of the games (a total of 23 games, btw). I would suggest "... that Arndt Jorgens (pictured) was a five-time World Series champion though he never played in a game? Wehwalt ( talk) 14:34, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply
Indeed, I understand the scenario, I just think the wording is ambiguous at best - the World Series is, after all, the culmination of not just itself, but the whole regular season as well. And as such, the "never played in a game" could easily be construed as his never having played any MLB game... something which clearly isn't true.  —  Amakuru ( talk) 14:54, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply
Perhaps Series or postseason before game? Wehwalt ( talk) 15:32, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply

Prohibiting wordplay is an idea that has come up here and there, but I'm not sure whether there has been a dedicated discussion on it. CMD ( talk) 09:47, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply
That's not wordplay, that's posting wrong information to get a hook to work. Clickbait instead of being representative of an encyclopedia. DYK getting its priorities wrong again. Fram ( talk) 10:02, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply
WP:DYKAPRIL says "Proper capitalization, title formatting, and linking standards may be disregarded only if adhering to them will tend to give away the joke. This should be done as little as possible." I thought that the exception from normal formatting for the sake of a joke only applied on 1st April. TSventon ( talk) 10:47, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply
minus Amended to "Little Canada". There is nothing in the guidelines to say that MOS:CAPS regarding proper names doesn't apply to DYK in the name of "wordplay". Even DYKAPRIL doesn't have any sort of guideline status and would ideally need community buy-in if the MOS was to discarded in that fashion. The community tends to turn a blind-eye for that one day only, but it certainly doesn't apply to a hook on any other day of the year. If the hook doesn't work with proper capitalisation then it can always be pulled, as Fram suggests.  —  Amakuru ( talk) 14:30, 27 June 2024 (UTC) reply
