Hi, I'm Robvanvee. Simongraham, thanks for creating Yotchiangrai!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. The article needs additional references.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Rob van vee 18:35, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
Hi, the presence or absence of parentheses in biological authorities is meaningful; the parentheses around the author citation indicate that this was not the original taxonomic placement (as explained at Author citation (zoology)). So the parentheses need to be left precisely as they are in the source. Peter coxhead ( talk) 11:22, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for adding the link to Wanda Wesołowska to some spider articles. If you do find authors for spider taxa not linked, you can check Wikipedia:WikiProject Spiders/List of Arachnologists, and do please add a name if it's not already there.
Personally, I see no reason not to spell Polish names correctly, so I would change "Wesolowska" to "Wesołowska". Peter coxhead ( talk) 11:40, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
Hi, I've just patrolled an article you created. I only felt the need to add {{WPSpiders}}, a link to the relevant project on the talk page. Having had a look through some of your previous created articles it seems to me that you should apply for the Autopatrolled permission. It would help reduce the backlog at New Page Patrol if articles as good as the ones you've been creating weren't on the list. Regards, Cabayi ( talk) 09:38, 15 February 2017 (UTC)
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Brancus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Congo. Hi, I don't know if you are interested in creating articles on any of the other Polish arachnologists listed here, other than Wanda Wesołowska. I've just created a short article on Marek Żabka and am working on a draft for Joanna Gardzińska. One issue I've come across is that many Polish arachnologists have been involved with the Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities, but this institution has had different names at different times (see pl:Uniwersytet Przyrodniczo-Humanistyczny w Siedlcach). So I thought you might perhaps be interested in knowing this.
I made a fix at Wanda Wesołowska based on one of these name changes. Peter coxhead ( talk) 09:48, 7 April 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for this, Peter. I have made start on an article on Barbara Maria Patoleta, who was supervised by Żabka and published with Gardzińska, based on the link. Please feel free to add to that too. Simongraham ( talk) 21:01, 8 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of ship launches in 1917, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pembroke ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). According to DANFS, there were some active in the Atlantic and Mediterranean including USS Blackfish, which sank the German Patrol Boat No. 408, and USS Herring, which sank the Ville du Havre, both as part of Operation Torch. Neither campaigns seem to be have been as important as the Pacific. Simongraham ( talk) 10:14, 13 June 2018 (UTC)

In terms of the WP:BIO criteria:
"A sportsperson is presumed to be notable if the person has actively participated in a major amateur or professional competition or won a significant honor and so is likely to have received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject." There are currently no specific criteria for gliding.

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the content guideline and the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide. Please do not add new additions to these pages without direct sources as the burden to provide them is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages. Thank you. Hello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!

You added short references to Johnston 2009 and Colledge & Warlow 2010, those don't match the associated long reference. Could you verify if the years are correct please? Also, you should install User:Svick/HarvErrors.js to get noticed of such issues in articles when making use of short footnotes. If you don't know how to install that, let me know, I'll walk you through it. Headbomb { t · c · p · b} 19:15, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi there,
As you may have gathered :), nearly everything in Wikipedia is negotiable - that includes what is, and what is not, required for B or even A class. Regardless of what other editors (me included) claim.
I write articles for users, so I try to keep them simple, provide graphics etc. I'm always trying to answer 'Why is this interesting to others?' That doesn't make me right - you have to find that balance for yourself.
One other thing; there's tons of information on the web, if you're curious enough. This article, for example, is one I did on Luis de Lacy; if you look at the Sources provided, all of those I found on the web. That's true of all my other articles.
Always happy to help if needed. Robinvp11 ( talk) 18:10, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

The fact was ... that the Swedish warship Oscar II (pictured), the first Swedish vessel named after the ruling monarch since 1824, was autographed by the king shortly after being commissioned in 1907? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/HSwMS Oscar II. I have checked and confirmed five of your entries. I have taken the initiative to delete what appears to be a duplicate Talk:Wattignies-class cruiser entry. I have not confirmed Fleurus because the talk page shows it unrated as of this time. I have not confirmed Soviet cruiser Vasily Chapayev because I read the talk page to show a change from GA to A, 15 points, rather than B to A, 18 points. If I have made any mistakes in this review, please let me know so that I can change or add an assessment as necessary. If I am slow to respond, a closing coordinator may correct any mistake that I have made or you may wish to ask a co-ordinator to check on it if the mistake is not first reverted by another reviewer or the closing coordinator. Thanks for all your hard work on these articles. Donner60 ( talk) 07:21, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

I admit I am not remotely technical, but I never got a formal bot notice that the GA had passed and the page still shows it is being reviewed? Sorry to trouble you. For the record, I did research Alexandrina Onslow, but on my side of the pond I could not find enough to write about her. I know she must have had a fascinating life. Both parents died by 1881, raised by her aunt, Udea Onslow (weird that her dad is sort of crossed out), Udea died in 1883, her husband Astley Thompson died in 1887 and rest of the family moved to Australia. It seems likely to me that she joined them there because her military records show her first service was in a hospital corps for the Australian diaspora. In 1911 (aged 46] she was living at the Crofton Grange School run by Mary Alice Lyster. How she came to own a yacht, join the Scottish Women's Hospitals, etc. is all a mystery. obit 15 Feb 1950 SusunW ( talk) 16:53, 7 August 2023 (UTC)

I have confirmed your recent contest entries except for the captioned one. My opinion is that you should be able to claim "none" for the start rating. That is based on the sequence of ratings: no ratings, you ask for GA, WP Ships rates as B but WP Ships is not a task force of the Military History Project, Military History Bot rates C while GA is on review, then GA is approved for the Military History Project rating. I am sure the WP Ships rating does not apply for the contest. I also think the Bot rating that comes after the GA request should not apply for the contest. I have seen at least one other such rating recently and gave an opinion that since the GA request was made before the bot rating, the Military History Project class rating at the time the GA request was made should be used as the entry rating for the contest. Since this sequence of assessments appears likely to occur from time to time, I have asked for confirmation of my opinion on the Military History co-ordinators talk page and have pinged you about that posting. I've added everything I could and rewritten the article. Hopefully you can dig up more from your Swedish sources; the info on her activities is far sparser than I'd prefer. Even a general statement that she did neutrality patrols and convoy escort missions during the war would be better than what's there now.-- Sturmvogel 66 ( talk) 11:50, 29 February 2024 (UTC)

Hello, I just corrected some obvious issues you pointed out, but I still have a few questions. I hope you can answer them:
1. I think Leblanc et al 2006 still have value in being used in this article, as the research is based on geological evidence. Do you think the problem can be solved by reducing the length of relevant paragraphs?
2. I think the relevant parts of the Ancient Rome can be directly deleted or summarized more concisely with other sources. I don't know how you think about this issue?
3. You pointed out potential copyright issues, does this mean that I should reduce some content based on the Encyclopedia Britannica? I have already made some reduce. Do you think I should continue to reduce the length of related content?
4. You have provided many supplementary sources, thank you very much. I will use these sources to further improve. However, you mentioned that the article lacks a description of the history of pre European periods. But I completely do not understand Hausa language. Would you be willing to provide some sources?
Thank you very much for your help. Newbamboo ( talk) 13:04, 20 March 2024 (UTC)

Hello Simongraham,
Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.
Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.
Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.
It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
2023 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.
Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.
Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.

Hi there, I have now acquired a copy of Morgan and Shacklady, which has a whole chapter on the Spiteful that I have not had access to before, and I would like to expand the article using this resource. Also, a couple of editors have recently done work on the article without discussing it on the talk or review pages first. As both of these issues imo make the article/nomination rather unstable, I would like a week before checking their work and adding more myself. Is that OK?

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. Hello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks.

Hi there,
As you may have gathered :), nearly everything in Wikipedia is negotiable - that includes what is, and what is not, required for B or even A class.
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mendoza dersuuzalai, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mendoza ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

On 13 August 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article HSwMS Oscar II, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, HSwMS Oscar II), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

G'day Simongraham, congrats on your first Milhist A-Class article. Essentially this means the article is quite to close to FA, and with some additional detail from sources mentioned by other reviewers, I suspect it would be a successful FAC nom. Good luck with it if that is what you decide to do. I will look out for it. Cheers, Peacemaker67 ( click to talk to me) 07:14, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

It would appear that since 2018 at the latest and up to the present time you have been copying fire control information from The Dreadnought Project and incorporating it into Wikipedia articles without attribution, whilst at the same time citing (often inaccurately and incompletely) our primary source references. This practice needs to stop. We don't mind our work being used on this website so long as it is properly attributed to The Dreadnought Project. Nor, for that matter, does WP:MILHIST. Hi, you were kind enough to do an image review for Maurice Suckling when the article was first up for ACR. My absence from the site led that nomination to be archived, but it's back now and I wondered whether you'd be willing to reiterate your support, considering the images have not changed? On 30 April 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article HMS Martin (1910), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that HMS Martin was part of the Grand Fleet of the Royal Navy in the First World War, but after the war was sold to be broken up? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/HMS Martin (1910). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page ( here's how, HMS Martin (1910)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

The talk page shows that the assessment for this article was on May 1. I think this can be properly entered into the May Military History Project contest.

Hi Simongraham. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers

the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as
patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the
New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at
New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the
deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the
new page reviewer talk page or ask via the
NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. I've added everything I could and rewritten the article. Hopefully you can dig up more from your Swedish sources; the info on her activities is far sparser than I'd prefer.

Is that OK?
