Barnstars are awarded to NPP reviewers after Backlog drives, as well as annually, for prolific but high quality patrolling, improving, tagging for deletion, tagging for issues, communicating with creators, etc. Reviewers who have respected WP:NPP guidelines, and not have bitten any newbies, are given barnstars and/or other awards, when specific conditions are reached.

Notes for the coordinator

• Reviewer of the year is the top-level tier for article reviews, and hence the winner should not be awarded lower-tier article barnstars, for that year.
• Redirect Ninja Master to be given to the top non-bot redirect reviewer. Any bots that qualify for it, can be given the Redirect Ninja award.
• indef-blocked users are not to be given awards or barnstars. The query in the Refs section takes care of this.
• Consider an award for the owners of bots that have recently entered the top 100 reviewer lists.
• Take into consideration awards given during backlog drive/s conducted through the year in question. Make sure that an eligible awardee has hit a higher tier than in the drive/s.
