My guideline here was that the importance rating is per-project, and each project has its own scope. If there was a project for Croatian people's biographies, then they'd definitely have top importance. But on the scope of Croatia as a whole, it's hard to justify top importance for individual people, no matter how popular or unpopular they are, because it's hard for them to have had an overwhelming impact on the entire topic - the whole country, its geography, history, culture, ...
It's exceedingly difficult for me to say that Tesla had a *top* impact on Croatia, because his work was generic and it affected every other country as well, and that would be a slippery slope. We can't have him as a high-priority article for every wikiproject for every country that uses alternating current.
Tito OTOH had a lot of direct impact on Croatia as a whole, but it was also genericized on the level of the whole of Yugoslavia, and it also may have faded more quickly than what Tesla did (the communist party no longer exists at all, yet I'm typing this using AC :). His importance on the .yu wikiproject is top, but that's because its scope is appropriately narrow.
I've only left Tuđman's importance alone because he was instrumental in the founding of the actual country, which looks like a decent milestone in the course of the entire history. On second thought I could demote him too because it's still less than 15 years of overwhelming impact, and later a lot of his actual policy was reversed by successors.
So in general I'm wary of individual people's importance for the per-country wikiprojects. But if there's a guideline somewhere that says otherwise I'll gladly defer, so long as the criteria are clear. -- Joy [shallot] ( talk) 10:38, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
I am constantly pleased to see your improvements to my Track and Field articles. But today's minor correction to David Patrick (athlete) amazes me. This was a new article I created out of the blue after realizing it had been missing for a couple of years. Four minutes after I posted the new article, you had already found it and fixed it. I hadn't even taken the step of adding its wikilinks to any other articles, where it might have shown up in a watchlist. How is that possible? Trackinfo ( talk) 19:50, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

I have noticed that you are doing a full review of 'Croatian War of Independence'. Since user Tomobe03 has open an A-Class review, it would be better if you paste your review there, instead on article talk page. By doing so, you can (if all your remarks are resolved) add your 'Support' for A-class. Of course, A-Class has more rigorous criteria than GA. Regards, Kebeta ( talk) 19:54, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Yes the article was significantly improved indeed, and I do believe there's no question now regarding the GA status regardless of the A-class being achieved or not. Since that was the intention in the first place, I'd say the primary objective is met - it's a shame there's no quorum on this one, but it does not really matter.
Right now, I plan to contact few magazines (e.g. Hrvatski Vojnik) to obtain permission to use some of their photos for the article since most of the images are, uhm, not on par with the article itself. Few things remain to iron out in the infobox, but thanks to a lot of teamwork, two A-class reviewers (including yourself) and great copyediting effort by Diannaa, I'd say this article might be a good FAC soon.
In any case, thanks for your effort, I really appreciate it.-- Tomobe03 ( talk) 18:28, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi Gregor! I don't think Blanka's article needs a great deal much more work to reach GA level, but it would be good to have a section about her image and personality (and its impact on her career). I was actually thinking of working on this a bit more in response to the nascent WikiProject Women's Sport. I am currently working on my final paper on the topic of the motivation of users to create content on collaborative media websites, the focus being Wikipedia. As a sample I chose the English and Danish portals. I would like to invite you for an online interview on the topic of what motivates you, as a user, to participate in editing and creating articles for this platform. Your real identity, and wikipedia account will be kept confidential through the paper. I plan on doing the actual interviews in the period between 6st and the 15th of May via Skype, MSN, Google Talk or Yahoo Messenger. I am, however, open to other channels of communication too. Hello Gregor, with regard of the recent reverting at Tesla´s article, I beleave that you shouldn´t have reverted without participating in the discussion. You may be right, however rather than an short explanation at your edit summary of your revert it would have been more appropriate to discuss it at the talk page where the discussion was opened since yesterday. Honestly, I found that the language only became official as Serbo-Croatian in 1945 (and Tesla died two years earlier), so I really supose that Tesla was probably fluent in both Serbian and Croatian, but is it right to name it Serbo-Croatian for his life time period? Hi! I recently created the Port of Rijeka article and found myself facing a dilemma: The infobox provides for financial data such as annual revenue and profit of the operator. Since the Port of Rijeka has three operators this is slightly complicated. Luka Rijeka d.d. publishes its financial statements with the ZSE so that's simple, but JANAF data do not include any info on business divisions (Omišalj terminal in this case) rather only the summary figures. The third operator Jadranska vrata was a 100% owned subsidiary of Luka Rijeka and thus included in the consolidated report of the latter. Would it be better to include LR+JANAF data in the infobox or leave things as they are now (only LR data) with a note that this pertains to Luka Rijeka only? Hi! I saw your note regarding assessment of the Franjo Mihalić and Sandra Perković. Since WP:Croatia has no published quality scale, I assume those would be equal or very similar to other country portals and therefore took Wikipedia:WikiProject England/Assessment for reference, since that page offers some additional details. The page contains 6 B-class criteria and to be honest, after looking at the Sandra Perković article, I feel that the article fails B3 criterion as the lead of the article does not conform to WP:LEAD - specifically, the article is short enough circa 6,000 characters to warrant a single paragraph lead, but the lead does not quite summarize the entire article.
I wouldn't mind assessing the articles (if the above mentioned quality scale is applicable, otherwise I have nothing to measure the articles against), but I thought to tell you this before any assessment is made.-- Tomobe03 ( talk) 21:54, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback on the three articles ( Elections in Croatia, Politics of Croatia and Government of Croatia) - it was very valuable. If you still have any energy left to look at those types of articles, there are reworked President of Croatia (already posted a GOCE request, although it will take time to start a copyedit) and Parliament of Croatia to round off the election-politics-government topics in the strictest sense before new election results are in. I plan to submit the president article, once the GOCE is done with it, to GAN. Thanks again!-- Tomobe03 ( talk) 16:35, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

I see you've started deleting my article Vrhovnik. Well you might not know quite as well on this position, but I know for sure that Tudjman imitating Tito's uniform and made myself wearing epaulets rulers as it was not a military rank title. Hi! I just completed referencing of Pandurs and asked WP:MILHIST to review their project's assessment of the article. I'd like to ask you to help with categories of the article: For instance, I'm at loss whether the article belongs to "History of Vojvodina" category just because some pandurs were from eastern Syrmia or not. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure the "History of Romania" and "Oltenia" categories are not warranted, while "Military history of Austria" could probably be justified. I made no changes to categorization since I'm not quite sure in that area though. Thanks!-- Tomobe03 ( talk) 20:26, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
You cannot be serious in claiming the tablets found in Tanais have anything to do with modern Croats. The personal names of Sarmatian population that supposedly lived there cannot be in any possible way connected with Croatian history. Such comparisons are anachronistic, you can find them in the historiography of 16th or 17th century, based on pure speculation and similarities. As such they imply the existence of (modern) "Croats" in time when nothing similar could have existed. You have to take into account the fact, that no writer of early or late antiquity mentions "Croats" in that environment.
Thus this all is but a construct of chauvinistic and nationalistic history projecting the concept of modern nation in some distant past. As such it is wrong and misleading and has nothing to do with truth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.182.111.134 ( talk) 10:50, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
Croats have 3 theories of origin and no certain year or decade of arrival (sources are unclear). Iranian, Gothic and Slavic one. Two of them came into existence under specific political orientation and pressure: Slavic with the creation of Ilyrism and subsequently Yugoslavia and Gothic with the creation of fascistic NDH. Just like the Gothic one, the Iranian theory must be understood as a diversion from the Slavic theory. In any case, Slavic theory can be the only possible one, due to the fact that Croats speak a Slavic language. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.143.107.95 ( talk) 12:58, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Considering a GA review drive that just got underway I hope to get eight or so additional articles reviewed. Link rot starts to worry me though, since some relatively recently created articles needed updating, such as in case of Croatian independence referendum, 1991 which just became a GAN. On the other hand, I'd prefer not to drag out the GAR beyond tonight, so I'll switch the image for a new one (as indicated in the GAR talk), so should it happen to take more time to positively resolve the licensing issue for the present image, it can always be switched back once the license is confirmed. While prose is understandably preferable for wikipedia, the bullet points, in the article, are essentially dividers for highlights that are thoroughly expressed in prose format. The bullets serve as a tidy transition of prose. Without the bullets, additional (and otherwise unnecessary) prose will need to be added to untangle a potentially ensuing mess (each prose-like bullet is independent of the other bullets). Ergo, I propose removing the tag before someone answers the call. — Eurodog ( talk) 01:39, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

WP:CRO will have another main page item soon - Wikipedia:Today's featured list/November 5, 2012.-- Tomobe03 ( talk) 15:06, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
Well, Wikipedia:BCLASS has six criteria instead of WP:MILHIST's five - the difference being B6 criterion, in essence requiring that the B-class articles conform to Wikipedia:TECHNICAL. I suspect that particular criterion is not that much to ask for and should be required. Besides, I suspect that most of the current WP:CRO B-class (and C-class for that matter) articles are not that much concerned with complex technical, scientific or otherwise complicated matters, and that the B6 requirement will largely be met as it is. - So yes, I'd accept it for those few that remain.-- Tomobe03 ( talk) 17:29, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, that's a great tip. I took a look at the C/B ambiguous ones, none met B criteria IMO at the first glance, but I'll take a closer look later on. One (Francetić, I think) is quite close, likely missing a single reference (tagged now).-- Tomobe03 ( talk) 09:58, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Dido Kvaternik, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rio Cuarto ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I need advice about an editing. Maybe you've heard, I accidentally found it, that municipal authorities in Gvozd made decision to re-rename village and to return name Vrginmost. Here are several sources (I still have not found an official document) : http://dnevnik.hr/vijesti/hrvatska/vijecnici-srpske-nacionalnosti-promijenili-ime-gvozda-u-vrginmost.html , http://www.novossti.com/2012/10/pokrajine-131/ and http://www.jutarnji.hr/tomislav-karamarko--nije-dobro-sto-opcinska-vlast-u-gvozdu-inzistira-na-promjeni-imena-naselja-gvozd-u-vrginmost/1034727/ . Now I would like to rename article and change name in other articles (like- Template:Subdivisions of Sisak-Moslavina County, Sisak-Moslavina County, Municipalities of Croatia...). Problem is as you can see that this change is controversial for some people, and I would really like to avoid editing conflicts because at the moment I have neither time nor will to discuss widely and interfere with other editors. What is your opinion?-- MirkoS18 ( talk) 01:04, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi,
Will you please help me with one issue at Template:Did you know nominations/Roman Theatre at Palmyra. English is not my native language and therefore I maybe misunderstood the original hook. My understanding of the original hook was that the only finished part of the theater was cavea. Is it possible that it actually means the opposite, that only unfinished part of the theater was cavea?

I have noticed that you are doing a full review of 'Croatian War of Independence'. Since user Tomobe03 has open an A-Class review, it would be better if you paste your review there, instead on article talk page.

Hi! I noticed you marked references in Croatia articles as fine in the to-do list within the Talk:Croatia (hope I make sense) quite a while ago. Timbouctou and I expanded some sections and trimmed down others recently, adding quite a bit new references. Still some paragraphs have no references, but there are no sections with no references at all. Do you think this level of referencing may be passable for a possible WP:GAN? It should be easy to add more refs, but I wouldn't like to overdo it and make the large article even larger in the process.-- Tomobe03 ( talk) 13:36, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

Hi! I'm starting to think about what images to use in Croatia article, and for the time being I placed the Tanais B image to the beginning of the History section. Hi! I expanded the Government of Croatia article a bit, but I won't be submitting it to GAN yet because I suspect it may not be even reviewed before the next election and the next update to the article. It'll head for the GAN after that point for sure, but would you mind taking a look at the article to see if anything is missing there to achieve B-class?

Hi! Could you please take a quick look at Talk:Central Croatia and comment if possible. I posted a similar note to Joy, but I'm not sure who's around or not. Thanks.-- Tomobe03 ( talk) 22:54, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Hey man, thanks for taking care of the DYK nomination for me. I was pretty busy at work in the past couple of days so I couldn't respond quickly to the issue raised. Thanks! Timbouctou ( talk) 16:58, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
Hi. When you recently edited Antonija Mišura, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page EuroCup ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The fact was ... that according to Bleacher Report, Antonija Mišura (pictured) was the most beautiful female competitor at the 2012 Olympics? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Antonija Mišura. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Hi,
I noticed that WikiProject Croatia is quite active and that your role in that success is significant. Can you please help me with a couple of things on WikiProject Serbia.
Do you have any advice how to deal with:

While prose is understandably preferable for wikipedia, the bullet points, in the article, are essentially dividers for highlights that are thoroughly expressed in prose format. The bullets serve as a tidy transition of prose. Without the bullets, additional (and otherwise unnecessary) prose will need to be added to untangle a potentially ensuing mess (each prose-like bullet is independent of the other bullets). Ergo, I propose removing the tag before someone answers the call. — Eurodog ( talk) 01:39, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
Hi! Thanks for stepping in, I really wouldn't know how to address the geobox issue.-- Tomobe03 ( talk) 13:34, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading File:Glorialogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

I am not that familiar with deletion procedures, tried to find a discussion page for it, couldn't. In any case my position is no opinion. I'm not familiar with the recent activities of the society as I'm no longer active in it. I realize that in order to establish notability there needs to be independent media coverage, and I can check for it in meatspace with people who are active. – Miranche T C 04:22, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

hi, i'm new to wikipedia and i'd like to make an addition to the nina burleigh article but for some reason i can't edit the page. could you please help me with this? thank you. Vivian Vianna ( talk) 11:27, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
what i'm confused about is normally i notice that semi-protected pages have a small lock icon at the top right of the page, but this nina burleigh article has no icon. is there something else going on as to why the page can't be edited, or do i have to wait until i'm autoconfirmed to edit it? please get back to me, thanks.

Yes, both required administrator intervention, should be fixed now. -- Joy [shallot] ( talk) 10:50, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

Btw, I followed your advice here and added hundreds of stubs to WikiProject Serbia.-- Antidiskriminator ( talk) 11:26, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
I need help about this ( photo). I'm pretty sure that I can use it since I get it from rights owner. Still do not know how to put right licence. I asked author to send me a picture for wikipedia article about church on what he agreed and sent me a photo for use on wikipedia artice. Is it perhaps now even free use? Or because I asked question so (I asked for article), I have to use a different license (and which)?-- MirkoS18 ( talk) 23:16, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
