Here it goes: On the Oobi at Work article, someone redirected it to its production company, but I don't know if that was the best choice. Sorry to bother you again, but I am somewhat new here and went out on a limb with the page. I decided to make the page separate again because it qualifies as notable according to the standard page notability criteria, but I don't know whether or not Wikia is a reliable source to list as a reference. The material on the Wikia site matches alternative sources but is the only site dedicated to the series itself. After seeing some Wikia pages, it seems like it could be wrong to call it a trusted source. If you have any opinions, please share! Thanks so much! Well, the Citing IMDb page proves that it's appropriate to use for the page since I am only citing the non-user-contributed sections. Also, it appears that IMDb does a lot of research to allow for a work to be included on their site, so they must have found it notable without any reference of DCPS. Well, either way, "OAW" seems to meet the standards of both (although IMDb's submission system seems pretty tough, since they won't allow "Didi and B," a Nickelodeon show, just because it hasn't been released in America). However, the DCPS station might not qualify for Wikipedia's. Do you have an opinion on this? I don't think it's necessary to include it on the Oobi at Work article. but I know only of his one (1) alma mater:

Could you please document the other two (2) CLAIMS that he attended those other two universities:

There are a few (< 120) old style Multiple issues that need to be checked manually. Main problems could be:

• The deleted Template:BLP IMDB-only refimprove
• The reason parameter of cleanup that there is a chance that the bot did not move it to the cleanup template and still appears as a parameter of MI. -- Magioladitis ( talk) 14:53, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

• No actions: All pages in Draft, Template, User, Wikipedia talk (these are sandboxes that the owner should change)

Hi User:GoingBatty, I see that your BattyBot has removed orphan tags I added to a couple of articles referring to academic journals. If you go to that article, you'll see that in the left-hand margin, under "tools", there is " What links here". Click that, you get a list of incoming links. At the top are some options; in the "Namespace" menu, select "(Article)" and click Go. If I do that, I see this list - count them up, don't count the ones that say "(redirect page)" - but do count the links that go through a redirect, such as the one from Animal welfare. Thank you User:Redrose64, that is most helpful. It was fortunate. then, that the tag was removed by a bot because it was unjustified. @ Ankababel: Not all pages are orphans upon creation - I just created Market Drayton railway station, and it had 40 inward links even before I created it. What I do is to look for a redlink with possibilities (see WP:REDDEAL, first bullet), one that I can write an article about from the sources that I have, click it and get started. The particular redlink that I clicked was one that I had myself added to another page in the belief that the article already existed, then found that it didn't but had plenty of other pages linking to it. -- Redrose64 ( talk) 21:42, 10 January 2015 (UTC)

RHaworth Most people don't see this as shouting. All caps of a few words is emphasis, not shouting. All caps for section headers in outlines or powerpoints is not shouting. I convert ~5 articles a day that have all cap section headers. Over 1/2 are usually Indian articles due to cultural differences. Articles are retrieved via CheckWiki and it only checks headlines of 10 letters or more. Bgwhite ( talk) 01:02, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi, there. Thanks for taking the trouble to make an edit at Ayers Rock. Unfortunately, you made a beginners mistake, despite the fact that you are obviously one of the most experienced editors in English Wikipedia. In a section which I recently created to improve the article, you changed "humourous" to "humorous". At the top of the article, there is a template instructing editors to use Australian English, which was put there by another editor. Another factor that you were not aware of, is that it is extremely rare for me to edit a spelling mistake into an article. The preferred Australian spelling is "humourous", and I have changed it back (but that is the only element of your edit that I have changed). Thankyou for your time. @ GoingBatty: My post, above, sounds very serious, but my sense of "humour" is just below the surface. I think I was exaggerating with the "beginners mistake" comment. Australians tend to use "humour", similar to "colour", so the adjectives become "humourous", and "colourful". "Humourous" is an accepted spelling at The Free Dictionary, but I'm sure you have checked that already. Hello Going Batty, We corresponded a while ago about the Sunbeam Rapier page and I was wondering if you could help with a small citation problem? I have just added an image to the Foden (lorries) page and amended the wording slightly. My source for the information is the annotation at the Science Museum (London) appertaining to the vehicle which is on display there. I cannot see a "template" which could be adapted so have just added the source in "prose" as it were, but am not convinced it's OK. I'm in the process of updating the WP:TOTD department's tip collection, as some of the tips have gone obsolete. So I'm looking for useful techniques and tools, that is, tips, to replace them with.

Any leads on the latest and greatest wiki-related programs, extensions, plug-ins, scripts, commands, or methods, would be most appreciated.

I noticed in your vector.js that you don't have Watchlist Sorter installed. This awesome script makes the watchlist useable. You'll wonder how you could stand even looking at the watchlist before this.

While I use the watchlist (and thus Watchlist Sorter) daily, there's a Firefox add-on I use almost continuously when reading and working on pages in Wikipedia. It's called Linky. It's weak where AWB is strong, but is strong where AWB is weak: visually inspecting or reading many pages, and supporting manual edits to them. Linky and WikEd make a powerful combination. Linky is especially useful when used on lists of sectional links you create in a sandbox.

Another tool I swear by is green redirects (see my vector.css). It makes it so you can tell redirects and regular links apart.

If you need a WP search engine that can handle results in the thousands and that presents them on a single scrollable list, check out the Database Scanner in AWB.

Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups is also indispensable to me, as it allows you to see into linked pages by hovering the mouse cursor over the link. And it's recursive in that you can do the same thing in the box that pops up, and in the box that pops up inside that box, and so on.

A powerful trick to speed up use of WP:AWB is to have it running in 2 windows at the same time. Make the same list of pages in them, delete the 2nd half of the list in the 1st window, and delete the 1st half of the list in the 2nd window, so each is working on half of the list. Then switch back and forth between the two windows as you use both instances of AWB to edit the pages on the lists. Once you get fast, you can use this technique with 3 windows instead of 2.

I recently installed a Firefox add-on called Case Changer, which makes it easy to change from ALL UPPERCASE to Title Case or Sentence case. I have wanted to use AWB's database scanner, but had trouble downloading the database dump. I frequently have two AWB windows open - one where I'm using pre-parse mode on a long list of articles while I'm doing another task in the other window. Thanks! I find that the easiest way to download

I would love to get that article noticed, and ultimately to bring it to GA status, along with the related articles on Game Theory (band) and their albums. If you're inclined to tell me where you think the Miller article needs improvement in order to get to GA, I really would appreciate the advice. I've been an editor for 11⁄2 years, and feel good about the quality of my contributions, but still haven't produced any FAs, GAs, DYKs, whatever. I'm really not sure why, but I begin to suspect that it doesn't just happen on its own. Do I need to self-nominate for those things, or should I instead be trying to make friendly connections with more experienced editors (as I'm attempting right now)?

Unfortunately, User:Jarry1250 doesn't log on very often these days. Since the end of September, he's been logging in less than once a month. His last log-in was December 7, 2014. It probably doesn't show up on meta until the entire dump is finished... ~15 days. This is what happens on WMFLabs. To get checkwiki running, I have to manually download files. The main directory for enwiki is https://dumps.wikimedia.org/enwiki/. In my opinion, AWB should be able to use the live database replica on Labs instead of requiring the editors to download the entire dumps themselves (which is impossible for users with a bad connection, e.g. me), similar to BLAST which allows users to do queries on the live gene database. Not feasible. If I remember right, one has to be running from a WMFlabs machine and have a WMFlabs account to run a query. Depending on the query, it could take a loooong time, especially if searching for something inside articles. If you need to scan for something, Batty or I can run it. @ Muboshgu: By changing the {{ Notability}} tag to "Notability|Sports", the tag on the sportsplayer pages now says "The topic of this article may not meet Wikipedia's notability guideline for sports and athletics", with a link to Wikipedia:Notability (sports). The first sentence of that page states: "This guideline is used to help evaluate whether or not a sports person or sports league/organization (amateur or professional) is likely to meet the general notability guideline, and thus merit an article in Wikipedia." (emphasis added by me). The page then provides detailed guidelines for sportspeople by sport. (For example, Wikipedia:Notability (sports)#Baseball should be helpful in making the decision for Nik Turley.) Therefore, I believe these edits are correct. Having said that, if the Notability template has another valid parameter (e.g. Biography, Organization), BattyBot doesn't change it. The logic BattyBot uses is documented at User:BattyBot/Notability. I jus reverted this change by BattyBot as it made no visible changes except inside a nowiki section which it should have left alone. If such a bot existed, it appears it would make a big update now and then make one edit a week - not sure the effort to code such a bot is less than making the updates manually. What I do at WP:BOTREQ is look for requests that I can accept and/or ask people to provide clarifications for their requests. @ Magioladitis: Ah, you're referring to the length of time between the deprecation of the parameter and when our bots removed them. My guess would be that many editors didn't follow the change to the template, and didn't notice that the |format= was no longer being displayed, and didn't notice the hidden category. Although deprecating the parameter may be invisible to editors, the edits to remove the parameter from each article will show up on some people's watchlists, and they can move the value to the |genre= parameter where appropriate. It appears that ~50% of the "Posted"/"Posted By" removals are followed by a date. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] It might make sense to use the presence of the "Posted…" to perform splitting to |date=;|author=. Even manually, it appears you made some mistakes in this edit and this edit. Just checking that I understand this, if you don't mind. \n|\s*(url|title|last|first|date|website|publisher|access-?date)\s*= is what you gave me. In English, it searches for any newline (\n) followed by zero or more spaces (\s*) followed by url, title, last, first, date, website, publisher, access-date, or accessdate followed by zero or more spaces (\s*) and then an equal sign. Is that right?

The -? in access-?date means "zero or one dashes", correct?

( talk page stalker) Try simplifying the expression to narrow down the cause of the problem. Remove all of the parameters in the regex except "title", for example, and see what happens. Experiment with different combinations of parameters. Does it always happen to "title"? Does it always happen to the parameter that precedes "last"? Does it always happen to the second listed parameter?

I don't see any obvious answer just by looking at the code. You might also try reordering the parameters on your sandbox page, or retyping the entire title line from scratch, in case there are any hidden characters that are messing with the search (I copied the text into a text editor and didn't see anything unusual, but there might be something there). – Jonesey95 ( talk) 02:37, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi GoingBatty! Curious if you know of any pre-existing regex code to delink commonly delink-ed things per WP:OVERLINK (e.g., delinking United States or other common words like health). Greetings, For the last couple weeks, I'm doing assessment on Category:Unknown-importance Catholicism articles.

On the article Talk pages that have importance= without a value, I have to input Low over 90 percent of the time.

For example, before {{WikiProject Catholicism|class=stub|importance=}}.

And after - {{WikiProject Catholicism|class=stub|importance=Low}}.

Wondering if BattyBot can be updated to input the Low value? IMO it would help reduce the backlog of over 5,000 articles.

Note: I've been updating existing articles on Wikipedia for about a year now, and this is my first question ever about any BOT, so I'm hoping that I explained above question clearly enough. Regards, JoeHebda ( talk) 00:17, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

@ JoeHebda: I don't know how the bot would be able to tell when "Low" was NOT the right value to use. While there are several Autoassessment bots that can populate |class=, I'm not sure if there are any that can reliable populate |importance=. @ JoeHebda: I did a similar task for WikiProject Kayaking in that project 99.9% of people are rated as {{{importance|mid}}}. Therefore any page that was in Category:Unknown-importance Kayaking articles and also in either Category:Kayakers, Category:Canoeists or both was safe for a Bot to tag. If you could come up with similar sets of categories for WikiProject Catholicism where (ignoring wrongly categorised articles) all of the contained articles should have the same importance it would then be very suitable for a bot task. After thinking about this, the importance= (left blank) should NOT be defaulted to a value of Low. While doing article assessments, I have noticed at least one-third or more, the Class does not match the article's quality. GB, are you checking to make sure that all accurate input data in the persondata templates has been transferred to the article's Wikidata profile before you remove the persondata template? Any bot can remove the template, but it takes a smart editor like GoingBatty to perform the human function of making sure all good persondata gets migrated to Wikidata . . . . @ Dirtlawyer1: In the edits I've made today to remove Persondata, the template had no populated parameters or only contained the |NAME= field, so I don't think checking Wikidata was necessary in those instances. I'm wondering how many other articles can have Persondata safely deleted because the Persondata values exist in other places in the article (e.g. only have birth/death years which are in categories, only have data that exactly matches infobox data). GB, I've just manually transferred the persondata from 190 bios to Wikidata in the last 36 hours, all articles where I was primarily responsible for inputting the persondata. As a result, I have a high degree of confidence in the accuracy, and by comparing the existing Wikidata and existing persondata, I've gained some idea of what has and has not been transferred to Wikidata by bot since November of 2014. If the persondata "brief descriptions" have been changed/updated since 2014, they probably have not been transferred. Of particular concern, the name variants included under persondata "alternative names" have apparently not been transferred to Wikidata at all. The places of birth and death seem to be very hit and miss; it may be that the the Wikidata bot has imported some from the article infobox, but not from persondata -- I don't have enough information to judge. What is clear is that a lot of good and accurate information has been left behind in many persondata templates. Of course, some subject areas have better persondata because editors within the particular WikiProjects took it more seriously than others. Use your best judgment -- I would hate to think we are discarding valuable work by our fellow editors over the past five or six years. Dirtlawyer1 ( talk) 01:23, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

(e.g. |SHORT DESCRIPTION=Italian painter and Category:Italian painters). If we can get programatically get rid of some, it might help us narrow down the list of those that require manual review. I'm sure some short descriptions do duplicate English Wikipedia categories, but Wikidata has its own system of sorting that cuts across all language-specific Wikipedias. If it looks like a nice concise short description (or two), consider transferring it to Wikidata manually. Wikidata is not that hard once you start using it; you can access it through the "tools" menu on the far left of Wikipedia article pages -- there is a link for "Wikidata item" that takes you directly to the article's Wikidata profile. If we don't do it now, before deleting the persondata, it's effectively lost as metadata. No one is ever going to search the vast majority of article edit histories for the deleted persondata, either, except in a relatively small handful of cases where the article may be of particular interest to them. I suggest you provide more independent reliable sources that show SelfAdvertiser meets Wikipedia's notability requirements for companies. The names of both the plants named ' box' and the container named ' box' come from that same word. Therefore, it seems it would be better for a bot to add the template with no parameters to uncategorized redirects. However, your suggestion to remove the template when it only has a single parameter seems interesting. Thanks for fixing and expanding references in the Harp Twins article. I think you repeated type=Ph.D. in this ref a moment ago [10]. I don't know the correct order for that parameter, or whatever its called. No ref section error was caused, but anyway, could you please remove the extra one? I would do it myself, but as I said, I don't know which one should stay, and I don't want to cause a technical error (I assume it has a number somewhere) even if it doesn't show up as such in the ref section. @ Dontreader: Oops - thanks for catching that! I've fixed my error. The nice thing about citation templates is that the order of parameters doesn't matter. However, using the same parameter twice does put the article into the hidden maintenance Category:Pages using duplicate arguments in template calls. Thanks again, and happy editing! Thanks GoingBatty! For some reason I was convinced that the order of the parameters did matter in citation templates, so thanks for telling me. Oh, and I did decide long ago to use the publisher field whenever the source should not be in italics. Otherwise I use "work" or a correct alias. It does look better like that. However, when I find an article that has been using the work field consistently, I just do what previous editors have been doing. @ Dontreader: WP:ITALICS, Template:Cite web and Help:Citation Style 1#Work and publisher are good resources for guidelines around italicization. However, there isn't always agreement on how to stylize some online sources. First of all, I hope my ping worked on my talk page (thanks again for your help!). Anyway, not long ago I created an article about a singer. It doesn't seem nearly as solid as the article I created previously about a band made up of four redheads, and some people have annoyed me, saying that it doesn't look ready, etc. I tell them, go ahead and nominate it for deletion (accompanied by death threats and "I know where you live" LOL Just kidding), and they have always decided against nominating it despite their complaints. By the way, it was created and edited once before by newbies, and speedy deleted.

I have prepared very good arguments to defend the improved article in case it goes through the AfD process (I expect a weak keep consensus, at least). However, here's my question for you, if you don't mind: according to WP:MUSICBIO, one criterion that is sufficient for notability is the following:

12. Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or TV network.

Well, it so happens to be that Ivana was featured on Channel 98, a nationwide Israeli TV channel, in 2011; it was a show dedicated entirely to her as a tribute. I contacted the producer of the show, and he gave me the link to the entire show on his official YouTube channel (there's no copyright violation). Both in Hebrew and in English it says at the beginning that the show is a tribute to this 19-year-old Dutch singer (19 back then). Here's the link. After around the first minute, she appears as a contortionist (not kidding) and then several of her videos are featured. Then it ends. So would you agree that criterion 12 is met, or not? @ Dontreader: This isn't my area of expertise. Although you mentioned the Gouden Kabouter Awards, Channel 98, London Gala Concert, BEAT100, Plan 9, and ArtistSignal, it appears that none of these have articles on the English Wikipedia. One interpretation could be that they don't have articles because they are not notable, and therefore their programs and awards are not notable, and therefore van der Veen doesn't meet the notability criteria. Another interpretation could be that they don't have articles simply because no one took the time to write them, even though they would each meet the appropriate notability requirement. First of all, I'm sorry for taking so long to reply. Thanks so much, GoingBatty, for analyzing that article and for your excellent insights. I must confess I created Ivana's article because I like her a lot, but I never thought there was much to work with. I struggled to find some of the sources that you see. I don't think anything better can be found. My main approach for a hypothetical AfD is to make it virtually impossible to prove that there isn't "significant coverage" in reliable sources (per WP:GNG) if criterion #12 in WP:MUSICBIO fails.

The Gouden Kabouter Awards will probably never merit an article in any language but my point was that she performed at the Paradiso venue, which is a big deal and does have an article not only in Dutch but also in English (and other languages). Same with the London Gala Concert: it will never have an article on Wikipedia, but I think it's notable that she was invited to perform in London (plus The Rock Tower - where she performed - might be worthy of an article). I'm not worried about Channel 98 not having an article in the English Wikipedia. It's a nationwide Israeli TV channel. As I said, I'm hoping that the tribute show dedicated to her on that channel will kill any AfD discussion.

GoingBatty, here's why I think it's virtually impossible to reach an "insufficient coverage/notability" consensus in an AfD discussion: apart from the Israeli TV show (supposing it vanishes), there's a reference in the article that has several YouTube videos that feature Ivana on the radio (she is discussed and her songs are played) in various countries. Although mostly what is said about her is material taken from her official website, there is more. Significant audio coverage is also "significant coverage". You add up all of those features, and I don't see how the article can be deleted. Do you? A similar YouTube clip that is not on that page but is also on one of Ivana's official YouTube channels is yet another lengthy tribute on Gold FM radio from Brussels, because she won the annual "Miss Photogenic" musician award (the show is entirely about her, playing several of her songs and talking about her in between songs). Nothing intellectually deep, but it's still coverage. Plus there's a written interview as a reference. And WP:N also states that "Determining notability does not necessarily depend on things such as fame, importance, or popularity—although those may enhance the acceptability of a subject that meets the guidelines explained below." So if you add the fact that she has over 5 million YouTube views, and that she won ArtistSignal (which requires popularity), I just think there's too much there to claim she's not notable. I know 5 million YouTube views is a lot because I uploaded a video in which I pretend to be a Russian communist alcoholic Harp Twins fan, and I was sure it would go viral, but I was wrong :) Many thanks again, and I'm glad you and BattyBot are back! Hi, in this edit the BOT removed the p. from |pages= thus leaving the reference with a meaningless figure. The p. is deliberate to show that this is a page number. Suggest that we need to change the templates to output the p. before removing it generally, only removing in cases where the p. is automatically generated by the template. @ PBS: Thanks for reporting this problematic edit. There are three issues afoot here:

1. While the intent of Category:CS1 maint: Extra text is to mark pages that contain citation parameters such as |edition=2nd ed will be rendered as (2nd ed ed.), it is also mistakenly marking pages that contain valid parameters ending in "ed" such as |edition=illustrated, which is why Waterloo Campaign, 8–15 June is in this category. This is a bug that has been fixed in the sandbox, per this conversation.
2. The goal of my bot is to fix citations on pages in Category:CS1 maint: Extra text. If it can fix a citation, it should also perform some general fixes. If it cannot fix a citation, it should skip the page. By having the fixes in a custom module, AWB won't skip the page if the only work do be done is unicodification. Therefore, I have changed the bot to use Find & Replace rules instead, so AWB will skip the page if there are no replacements.
3. As you demonstrated above, AWB should not perform unicodification on protocol-relative links. Therefore, so I submitted an AWB bug report for that issue - see the Phabricator link above.

Hi. Writing to you regarding BattyBot task 34, which I see last tagged 915 pages February 23–24. Also pinging Magioladitis, whose Yobot tagged over 4 thousand pages on September 16, 2014. Regarding BattyBot 34 testing, I am specifically interested in why you skipped talk pages that are redirect pages. Redrose64 is correct about this frequently occurring scenario. I see that Wikipedia:WikiProject Disambiguation § Templates still says {{ WikiProject Disambiguation}} - Project banner for talk pages with discussion. Please do not use to create talk pages that have no discussion. So there are three options for these pages:

1. tag with {{ WikiProject Disambiguation}}, on the basis that you are not creating the page, although it may not have any past discussions nor any history other than as a redirect
2. blank the page
3. delete the page

The one thing we should not be doing is keeping a redirect to a content page on the talk page of a dab. I'm somewhat ambivalent about which option is preferable, and I've read some of the past discussions to see that there's been some disagreement on this issue.

The reason I'm here is that I ran into a note on the Category:Possible cut-and-paste moves page: See also User:Mikaey/Broken talk pages which lists talk pages which redirect elsewhere but have a non-redirecting subject page. This list was created on 15 August 2009‎ by a one-time manual run of AarghBot (based on 20090810 database dump). Six years passed, with nobody tending to this, until me. A surprisingly large percentage of these items had not been fixed, until I did it. Most, but not all items I've fixed by option #1 above. So far, nobody has yelled at me for violations to the spirit of WP:WPDAB. Obviously, I'd like to automate, or semi-automate:

1. re-generation of Mikaey's list
2. fixing the items on that list

I'm wondering if AWB can do this. What Magioladitis considers trivial (ArticleText = @"{{WikiProject Disambiguation}}" + "\r\n" + ArticleText; in the custom module and set "skip it contains..." {{WikiProject Disambiguation}}) is something that really stretches past what I know how to easily do with AWB. I did a search in Article space for incategory:"CS1 errors: dates" insource:/date\s*=\s*\[\[/, which found 97 hits in article space. Some of them have patterns that look fixable; as usual, most of them are just bizarre and will require human intervention. |date= Ferris State University??? Oh, the carnage. There's a whole lot of strangeness in there, but I'm seeing a few patterns. Here's a list of ones that might be fixable by the bot task. Most of them appeared in |date=, but some were in |access-date= or |publication-date=. In many cases, if you search for and remove the leading text (e.g. "Information generated on" or "Last Modified" or "posted on") and the date is still not fixed, there is an existing pattern in the task's code that can clean up the citation on a second pass. The parameter values listed below are the complete value copied and pasted from an actual citation unless otherwise noted. My notes are in parentheses.

Dirtlawyer1 I don't think there will be alot, relatively speaking. Waacstats kept adding info to the "Short Description" parameter. It's essentially all they did. There was a tracking category for this and they kept the article count close to zero. Unfortunately, when the Persondata RFC passed, they stopped editing. May 12 was their last edit.

AWB had an update on July 14 that removed adding persondata, though some people are probably still using the older version. I still see people manually adding Persondata when they create an article.

Contrary to the impression some folks may have from comments made at the Village Pump discussion, the results of the May 2015 RfC that resulted in the deprecation of Persondata have not been widely publicized. In fact, the only general notices of which I am aware where those that I personally posted at WP:VP, WP:AN, WP:BLP, WP:BIO and several of the major sports WikiProjects talk pages in which I participate. Those generated some discussion among a couple dozen editors, but that's not exactly widespread notice. What is needed is bot-delivered notice to all active editors on their user talk pages, as well as all bio-related guidelines and WikiProject talk pages. I'm done suggesting it: would you like to help me do that? The notice should include a simple statement of the May 2015 deprecation and instructions for manual transfer of Persondata information to Wikidata.

Both of you are right. Andy has it right in that it was extremely well publicized (relatively speaking). Major MOS changes are rarely discussed by more than 10-15 editors. Even if everbody knows, you will still have people adding persondata out of old habits and newbies add it because they see it in current articles. I'd also like to share some anecdotal information from a batch of about 20 Canadian Olympic athlete articles for which I manually transferred Persondata last night (short version: I think there are pockets of articles where virtually none of the existing Persondata was ever transferred by bot action. Simply, I consider you a trusted "technical" editor. You run a bot that produces very few errors, and you make edits I have seen to code that could equate to trust in editing cascade-protected pages and pages in the "MediaWiki:" namespace. And, there's actually a rather good "skill" you have that makes for a good administrator that doesn't require the toolset, but is very positive for administrators to have ... cordial inquiry and discussion. Your ability to ask neutral questions during discussions proves that you have a knack for handling disagreements and finding an agreement or consensus; the ability to do this, in my mind, validates trusting you with the "delete" button. First off, you would make a great admin. An admin is not required to participate in any admin activities. For my sanity, I don't go onto WP:AN, WP:ANI or any other drama board unless necessary. I see around 5 redirects to draft/user space a day, so deleting them without a speedy is helpful. I also see some vandalism, so directly protecting pages or blocking vandalism-only accounts is also helpful. Other than that, I really don't use the admin bit, but it does come in handy. The main drawback is you come under more scrutiny. At the moment, the RfA is particular "nasty" over content creation. A gnome like you or me is going to get some opposes. 1. Your guess may be right, but the source doesn't make this clear. I suggest you post on Talk:Suresh Prasad Sarbadhikari and ask for assistance. If that's not successful, you may want to add {{ clarify}} after that statement.
2. I would guess that insanity and extremism are different, but it would really help to have a source for this. Again, posting on the article talk page should be your first step.
3. You're probably right, but the article uses the same wording as the source. I changed the article to have that statement in quotes. Maybe you could find a more recent source, or ask on the talk page for assistance.
4. I can't read Italian either. Again, asking for clarification on the talk page is my suggestion.
5. Messages like that belong on the talk page, so people can discuss it and decide how to change the article. I reverted the edit.
6. Probably, but we should write what the sources say. Again, I suggest you try the talk page.

BattyBot has been removing ]] at the end of images. It only removes the brackets if the end of the caption is a wikilink, thus four in a row. Examples are [12] and [13]. I have been fixing them when I find them. I have reverted ~8 edits of BattyBot so you can see some other articles. It has been going on for atleast two days. I found a straightforward date error in |airdate=, in Financial astrology. I checked the task 25 source code, and it looks like BattyBot is not yet looking for |airdate= or |air-date=. If you could add that parameter, that would be great.

Kindly clarify this last aspect: how to make a list of talk-pages to append some text such as {{WikiProject Ghana|class=stub}}. Eg. In AWB to make such a list I do Source:Category (recursive) and enter Category:Ghana and click on Make list. You might want to take your list of articles, go to the top AWB menu and choose List > Convert to talk pages. Many of these talk pages will already have the WikiProject template. @ Andrewaskew: When {{ Conflict of interest}} was created in 2009, it was a redirect to {{ COI}}. On September 15, 2015, the template was changed to be a navbox.

The AWB general fixes page points to the template redirects page, which is where it was defined (since 2011) to change {{ Conflict of interest}} to {{ COI}}. @ Paul.mott: In this edit to User:Paul.mott/sandbox, BattyBot made a change with an edit summary of "changed article categories to category links per WP:USERNOCAT". WP:USERNOCAT is a shortcut to Wikipedia:Categorization#Categorizing user pages, which states " User pages are not articles, and thus do not belong in content categories such as Living people or Biologists." Since your sandbox page was appearing in Category:Offender profiling and four other categories, the bot changed it from [[Category:Offender profiling]] to [[:Category:Offender profiling]], which removes your sandbox page from the category and instead creates a link to the category. @ Viriditas: Part of AWB's general fixes includes code to reorder references to put them in numerical order. I have reverted my edit, and made the small change to add the missing quotation marks (which was the purpose behind my edit). As a reader of the Lise (Renoir) article, I don't how should I interpret the significance of the reference ordering "Renoir's initials 'AR' are marked on the trunk of the tree in the shade behind her.^[4][1]" and "There was no major opposition to Lise at the Salon.^[13][5]" If you like, you could add a hidden comment between consecutive reference to keep AWB from reordering them, which you could also use to explain to editors why you put the references in a certain order. Egads, how you created that, I'll never know. Just a "tad" complex. I wanted to see how you changed a parameter in certain infoboxes. Typing new names for deprecated parameters is getting old. FYI... following infoboxes have date parameters similar to Infobox football biography.

{{ Infobox Rugby Union biography}} and {{ Infobox rugby union biography}} have |clubupdate= and |repupdate=

{{ Infobox rugby league biography}} has |updated=.

{{ Infobox rugby biography}} has |rl_clubupdate= and 7 more "update" parameters.
