Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Carom 17:30, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Anyone someone drops the n-bomb in vandalism, don't be afraid to whip out the steeper warnings, even if it is their first no-no. Great work on reverting the Marshall University article, BTW. youngamerican ( wtf?) 18:37, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

The ticker on wikinews relies on some JavaScript code from Wikinews. It wouldnt be possible to implement here without putting the code in this sites MediaWiki:Common.js. Knowing the rules and regulations here, that's not going to happen. And it definately wont get on the main page - it's too strict what does go on. Sorry! Thanks for the globalization tag on Private foundation. It made me search to see if commonwealth countries have them as well as the USA. Congratulations to our 225 new members |
The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below) We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future. This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
Lastly, a new WikiProject Biography channel has been set up on the freenode network: Our thanks to Phoenix 15 for setting it up.

I have partially reviewed the article and left comments on the talk page. This article is fit for GA, but I have requested a second opinion. In the meanwhile you can improve the article using the suggestions i have left on the article's talk page. Bless sins 20:15, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for having requested an editor review. A month has passed since it has been posted there, and it has been archived. Hi, wanted to ask about what exact improvements this article needs. It's already got a large number of wikilinks and is quite long, given that the command is new. Also, what do you think needs to be cleaned up? Thanks Buckshot06 14:17, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Kuc logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:01, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
You nominated Maher Arar as good article candidate. I initially gave it a review asking for second opinion. Second (and third) opinions have been provided, outlining several problems with the article. Please refer to Talk:Maher_Arar#GA_review and Talk:Maher_Arar#2nd_opinion_from_User:Canadian_Paul for what needs to be done.
If you think you can improve the article, I'm more than willing to wait and see how things turn out. If you'd like to improve the article at a much later time, I'll fail it for now, and you can put it up for nomination when you feel you have addressed the concerns. If you have any further question please leave a message behind on my talk. Thanks. Bless sins ( talk) 18:48, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

You have previously expressed an interest in undergoing the Admin coaching program. We're currently engaged in a program reset to help things move more smoothly in the future. If you are still interested in the program, please go to Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Requests for Coaching and re-list yourself under Current requests, deleting your entry from Older requests. Also, double-check to make sure coaching is right for you at the Coachee checklist; WP:Adoption or WP:Editor review may be more appropriate depending on your situation and aspirations. Thanks for reverting the vandalism to the page I was working on. I am traveling at present and don't have time to keep up on it. I'm aiming to revise the pages of the individual wali after September. One of the previous editors of this page said he's busy until December, so pace is slow.
I've only been editing for a year or so. Can you tell me how I can request that the page be protected by vandalism? I know there are many WP pages where changes cannot be made anonymously, and not even by someone whose username is less than 30 days (?) old. Thanks. Martindo ( talk) 00:10, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
Hi Mwilso24, and thanks for your interest in igloo. Before using the program, please read the following information carefully - failure to do so may result in your test access being revoked.
igloo is a JavaScript-powered, browser-based anti-vandalism tool, which means you do not have to download or install anything on your computer and it will work on multiple operating systems. However, it does mean that the performance relies on that of your browser and it may operate more slowly than downloaded programs. You must have either Mozilla Firefox 3+ or Google Chrome to use igloo, as it is currently incompatible with other browsers.
igloo relies on a system called iglooNet to assist you in finding and reverting vandalism. It is this system that transforms the program from a pretty version of recent changes to an actual anti-vandalism tool. Naturally, this is beyond the power of a client-side program, and igloo will regularly communicate with an external, non-Wikimedia server. Because of things like server logs, and the iglooNet abuse tracker, this may allow your IP address to be attached to your username - something which is otherwise impossible on Wikipedia. If you do not want this to happen, you MUST NOT USE IGLOO.
If you decide that you do want to test igloo, please keep in mind that it not wholly stable, and you may experience problems where it performs an invalid edit, or other unwanted action. If this happens, fix any mistakes you've made, apologise to anyone you've offended, and let me know. I don't take any responsibility for your use of the program - if you aren't willing to fix any errors, don't use it.
igloo is already quite powerful. The following is a simple guide to using the program:
If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or other feedback, I'd love to know. If you hate it, and won't be using it again, please let me know why - and I'll remove you from the test whitelist. If you now try and use igloo, you should find that it will allow you to use the program. Thanks, and good luck! Ale_Jrb talk 13:04, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

I reverted the vandalism - the sentence read "When the ship arrived, Abraham Lincoln would often advertise in a newspaper that indentured servants (redemptioners) were for sale:" and I reverted it to "When the ship arrived, the captain would often advertise in a newspaper that indentured servants (redemptioners) were for sale:". The article doesn't mention Lincoln at all! Would you look at the article (which I see that Until It Sleeps reverted again to read "captain"), and if I was indeed correct to revert it to captain myself, could you leave a note on my user page acknowledging this (and possibly strike out the warning itself using <s>[warning message]</s>). Thanks -- PhantomSteve ( Contact Me, My Contribs) 15:31, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
You need to be much more careful with Igloo. I've noticed that you have rolled back at least 4 perfectly good edits [1] [2] [3] [4], of which 2 of them were made by administrators (see links 2 and 4), 1 of which was a vandalism revert. The other 2 were a vandalism revert (link 3), and a edit that I saw no reason for you to have rolled back (link 1). I also see that you have previously reverted complaints on your talk page about these same reverts, and you yet again reverted an administrator...
You seriously need to watch what you do on Igloo. I know it's in alpha testing, but you are responsible for how you use it. If you keep making careless reverts like this, you risk having your rollback rights removed, or even being blocked. Until It Sleeps Wake me 15:51, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:WesternLaw.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude ( talk) 06:13, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

You can find it at Wikipedia:Editor review/Mwilso24/Archive 1, where you may read last minute additions. We would really appreciate your help in reviewing a random editor. :) -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:27, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

WP:Hornbook, the new "JD curriculum task force".
Our mission is to assimilate into Wikipedia all the insights of an American law school education, by reducing hornbooks to footnotes.
