It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 871 square kilometers (336 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Kuybyshevo. [1] Population: 14,800 ( 2010 Census); [3] 15,237 ( 2002 Census); [6] 14,061 ( 1989 Soviet census). [7] The population of Kuybyshevo accounts for 41.5% of the district's total population. [3]
