Kolyshleysky District ( Russian: Колышле́йский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [5] district ( raion), one of the twenty-seven in Penza Oblast, Russia. It is in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,685 square kilometers (651 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Kolyshley. [1] Population: 26,187 ( 2010 Census); [3] 27,751 ( 2002 Census); [7] 29,125 ( 1989 Soviet census). [8] The population of Kolyshley accounts for 31.7% of the district's total population. [3]
