Hi i currently left a whole section of rebuttals on the talk page on a number of sources and what i believe are various misinformation regarding various sources that i believe should be at best rephrased but however no user has voiced their disapproval should i go ahead and add those extra references without removing the references that already exist because i dont intent on removing any evidence on the page just extra references from the sources i feel should be included i am just wondering if any of that is necessary-- Kndnm64 ( talk) 21:10, 21 November 2019 (UTC)

I don't want to turn Streatham and Clapham High School into an edit warzone by wading in myself, but wanted to make sure you were aware that Haymans42 has reverted your restoration of the COI/advert template with no explanation offered on their part.

When Haymans42 first made an appearance on the page last year (by reverting my edit) I assumed they were associated with L.hammerlit., given the similarity in editing approach​.

However I see that Haymans42 has explicitly denied having any interest in the school on their talk page. Since L.hammerlit's Wikipedia editing activities (including a now-deleted apparently autobiographical page) give a very strong pointer as to their identity, which is one with as close an interest in the school as is possible, the similarly in editing approach between the two users must be a coincidence.

So assuming that Haymans42 is acting in good faith but lacks experience, might it be worth pointing them to other Girls' Day School Trust pages if they want to get an idea of how they might present the school in a Wikipedia-compliant fashion? E.g. /info/en/?search=Putney_High_School has a more restrained approach.

This might help because currently Haymans42 seems to have very limited editing experience on Wikipedia: to date, the "Streatham and Clapham High School" page is the only one they have ever edited. A less florid page without the need for a COI/advert template seems like it would be the best outcome for all concerned.

I hesitate to suggest this to Haymans42 directly: since my only interaction with them has been their attempting to revert my edits, I think it's unlikely they would listen to any suggestions from me: but I wondered if they might be more receptive to an approach from you.

Hi Cordless Larry Re my article on singer songwriter Lee Fardon I didn't see your comment which you say you deleted so no worries. However I wonder if you can help me as I don't seem to be able to contact directly the others that left me comments on this thread. 1) I think they are saying that I need to resubmit my article again after the edits they have made. Is this right? 2) I am being told that I do not have reliable sources. I have read the Wiki item on this but a lot of it doesn't really apply to the kind of article I am submitting which is about a well regarded living singer songwriter. I have given published sources from well known music publications with dates and authors names. Is this not reliable? I have looked at a lot of other musicians wiki entries including those who have worked with Lee. They don't seem to have as many "reliable sources" as the one I am submitting so I am confused.

Examples with links to Lee fardon that I have looked at are: Helen Rogers (backing Singer on Lee Fardon's Album Too Close to the Fire, 1992). Lee Fardon is mentioned in her article. I appreciate that I cannot include other Wiki entries as reliable sources and am mentioning them to you only to 1) demonstrate that others who have worked with Lee have Wiki entries that seem far less comprehensive and fewer reliable sources cited and 2) to demonstrate that Lee Fardon is a recognized and acclaimed artist who has been cited in several Wiki articles. Could you please explain how my article falls short of reliable sources.

Yes, the draft needs to be resubmitted if you want it reviewed again, Fencedown. There are lots of old articles that are of poor quality, but it's best to ignore those when writing a new article, as since the draft review system was introduced, higher standards are being applied. Just wanted to write a brief message on two things. The first is that I just made some edits to the article on Sir Charles Asgill. I changed what I've been calling "search result links" to what Founders.archives.gov is calling permalinks. I also added Internet Archive links as well. So this is what I've been doing now for a few months because the search result links over time can go to a different document.

Perhaps you can persuade either me of the other editors to change perspective.

I've just been checking it every few weeks or so, and it hasn't been the case that they've been generated at such a fast rate that it gets to be a major job. Also, the search result link doesn't go bad right away, but only after a bit of time when additional documents are added.

But it is true that they do go bad. Before I started working on it I thought it might be the case that maybe it was just a few that had gone bad. My recollection is that when checking out Washington's aides-de-camp I saw that that wasn't so much the case.

If curious one can go to the version of the page from 01:19, 3 October 2019 and see that reference 52 is intended to be a letter from Marquis de Fleury to Alexander Hamilton from 1778, but instead the link goes to a letter from George Washington to Samuel Huntington dated 5 November 1779. Similarly references 60, and 61 have also gone bad inasmuch as the links are based on results 3113 and 3282 of a query for "Smith". But with Smith such a common name more documents could be added which would change the offset for those particular ones.

The discussion at Talk:Cal_Cunningham#Information_on_PPP_loan_to_Waste_Zero has been going okay, and so I just posted there a little while ago.

IMO the initial editor is acting sincerely, but is SYNTHING a bit and doesn't understand that British Muslims, British Urdu readers and British Pakistanis are not synonymous, nor that a squabble within the Muslim world might not belong on the British Pakistanis page. The content concerns antipathy between mainstream Muslims and Ahmadi - who appear to be a sect of Islam, or an Islamic heresy, depending on your pov, (I had never heard of them to be honest). Like pretty much everyone here, I'm a volunteer, London 1994. You're saying there are sources, but you didn't cite them when adding/restoring the material. Moreover, you restored content to an article about Starfish Project too, and I don't see how articles about the McGuire programme would support that content. People aren't sources, London 1994, although they do write them. If you read WP:RS, you'll understand what's likely to be acceptable as a source. The existing article has nothing to do with what we do. They co-opted our movement in 2015 and put the focus on white deaf people. I have proofs. This is why I have created the user names last year in the first place and you blocked them. Now, again. When I created DeafTalent, it was intended to be a separate account. What if I cancel Jade Bryan account. It seem to log in under that account when I want to log in on DeafTalent or the other account. I think you're not being fair.

thank you for your feedback. With regards to the Wikipedia Gudielines I have studied them I I think my addition is well in line with them, esp. they are not commercial and specifically related to the subject of the page where the link has been added.

Regarding the value of the content of the information accessed by the link I would like to point out a few points which are described on the linked page. If you glance through the bibliography section of any number of Nobel Prize for Literature Laureates you will realize that they come with any number of different formats, and all rather incomplete. My page takes a systematic approach to the texts written by an author rather than only the books that publish some of their works. For comparison you realize that a discography is not the same as a list of works by a composer. in addition to this new focus the page also gives a systematic approach to translations of the text the author. Many publishers do not think it is necessary to give the title of the original work but give us only a translation, sometimes even with a different title. Or the publishers publish a book with short stories of an author, the book having the same title as the book originally published, but with a different content. Now I agree that this approach of mine to the work of a Nobel Prize laureate is rather scientific and mostly serves the scientific community. But I do not think that it is in conflict with the enzyclopedic content of Wikipedia.

It wasn't me who added the template, but Flickerd. I did revert your addition of material to the article that lacked references to sources, as I explained in my edit summary. I could also have mentioned that the material was promotional. Articles shouldn't describe people as "inspirational" or "stellar" in Wikipedia's voice.
