Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page Air New Zealand, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. Welcome to WikiProject Biography

I want to personally welcome you as a new member of the WikiProject Biography. I myself just joined it days ago. And, by the way, I think it's disgraceful that Wikipedia's insiders won't allow an article about Theresa Greenfield. Sure, we've got an article about Hurley Hall and about Arthur Ollie, but since Greenfield hasn't been elected to anything, she's a no-go. (Despite the guideline tolerating "major local political figures who have received significant press coverage".) I weep, sometimes, about how arbitrary and practically cruel some Wikipedians seem to be, even if inadvertently. - AppleBsTime ( talk) 00:20, 24 August 2020 (UTC) reply

@ AppleBsTime: I am happy that I am not the only one who wants to make an article about Theresa Greenfield. Some Wikipedians, just want to find a reason not to make an article about a certain person. Thanks for taking the time to personally invite me to the project. - AdamT777 00:27, 24 August 2020 (UTC) reply

Theresa Greenfield draft

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Draft:Theresa Greenfield. I can see that you're a fairly new editor, so I'd like to point some things out to you. First, you attempted to introduce categories on the page here. Easy mistake, but it is not possible to add categories to a page until it is out of the draft space. An edit like this is a bit problematic. First, it adds WP:NPOV puffery material sourced to a Youtube video and a campaign website, which is a primary source. You have also added Twitter links to the page. These are (usually) not reliable sources. You attempted to start a "political positions" subheading here, but it is again written like campaign material and sourced to campaign material. I am not opposed to including political positions on the page, but please try to find reliable independent sources to support the material, which should be written neutrally. Thanks, KidAd talk 01:57, 24 August 2020 (UTC) reply

@ KidAd: I did NOT add the Twitter link. It was there before I edited on the draft. Please do not put the blame on me unless you're sure that it was me who added. Thanks.

@ KidAd: Please tell me WHY in a couple sentences or more why you changed my edit. If you don't respond in a timely manner (about twenty-four hours) than I will revert your edit. - AdamT777 05:34, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

If you want me to respond to your comments, alert me correctly. Directions can be found here. I explained to you in my above comment why (some of) your edits were problematic, but you did not address the issues. For now, your content must remain off the page until you gain consensus for it per WP:ONUS, which says The onus to achieve consensus for inclusion is on those seeking to include disputed content. I'm happy to discuss why the content is not suited for the article, but I encourage you not to edit-war further. KidAd talk 23:36, 25 August 2020 (UTC) reply

@ KidAd: I respect your work, I really do. I just want to say that I won't undo your work BUT by telling me: "for now, your content must remain off the page until you gain consensus for it per WP:ONUS," are you discouraging me from editing Wikipedia and if you are let me tell you this: I don't give up that easily to people who are mean to me.

I appreciate that. I do not mean to dissuade you from editing Wikipedia, but I encourage you to familiarize yourself with some of the policies I've linked to. Editing has a bit of a learning curve, and learning policy will prove very helpful when with writing and interacting with others. Looking back, I wish I had dedicated more time to reviewing policy instead of "jumping into the deep end of the pool" – so-to-say. As for WP:ONUS, this is only a tool used to encourage editors to discuss content-related conflicts instead of reverting each other. As I said, I am happy to discuss the content with you! A tag has been placed on Draft:Youngzine, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Discussion about removal of Azores Airlines on Oakland International Airport Wikipedia article

Azores Airlines is temporary suspended due to COVID-19, according to the OAK airport website https://www.oaklandairport.com/airlines/airlines-and-destinations/ the airline is still actively listed. If the airline is removed on the airport website, removal will be applied on the Oakland International Airport Wikipedia page.

@ Bay Area Aviation: The airline's website: https://www.azoresairlines.pt/en/destinations does not list Oakland as a destination, but lists Boston and Toronto as valid destinations. I also deleted Azores Airlines because their is no citation compared to the other airlines. I refuse to have Azores Airlines on the Oakland International Airport Wikipedia page unless it is verifiable. If Azores Airlines has a valid citation on the Oakland International Airport Wikipedia page, than our problems are resolved.

@ AdamT777: Valid point, just for additional verification, according to an Azores Airlines agent on Facebook, Oakland has been temporary terminated in the meantime. So in this case, lets keep it removed. Thanks for contributing. - Bay Area Aviation

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
