I have possibly found the paper you were referring to when using Google scholar (a suggestion that a person made as a reply on the question). I've also possibly Identified the actual name of the ancient cnidarian , the name being Octomedusa pieckorum As stated in https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0001121 And the paper itself, the paper being https://ia800200.us.archive.org/31/items/pennsylvanianinv127john/pennsylvanianinv127john.pdf. The paper itself includes 3 pages about the before mentioned Octomedusa pieckorum. Please let me know if this paper is the actual paper you were mentioning. I do understand that the Octomedusa fossil and the "unidentified jellyfish" illustrated by Lieberman aren't the same (considering how different their fossils look and look nothing alike). But, does that mean that the Unidentified jellyfish isn't actually octomedusa? because if it is, it means that I must go searching again for an hour on google to identify the jellyfish. I do also understand it isn't the same taxa for the same reasons , but , I got the name Octomedusa from one of the articles from the Teahouse which showed other unidentified cambrian jellyfish. Hi Nick! I think it's been awhile since we've talked. I was hoping to maybe have your input on something? So something about the Shaw Festival article kind of reminded me of this section from when I was adopted. I removed it but then changed my mind and started a talk page discussion, but it's been 10 days and no one's said anything. Hello Nick Moyes,
At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.
Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.
In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 803 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 855 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.
This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.
If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page.
If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

Nick, I see Medium being utilized as a reliable source for a lot of the information in this BLP. My concern is that Medium is a blog. It's also a Primary source because Roxane is the author of the blogs. I think most of the information contained in the Personal Life section is undue but I'd like a second opinion if you'd be willing to look. I think in other sections where Medium is used as a source it is to self-quotes and non-controversial information that is due and contributes to the reason why the subject is notable so I wouldn't do anything with it. Would you mind giving me your opinion on WP:DUE and if it applies to that section? Thank you -- ARose Wolf 15:16, 17 June 2022 (UTC)

Hello Nick Moyes,
At the time of the last newsletter (No.27, May 2022), the backlog was approaching 16,000, having shot up rapidly from 6,000 over the prior two months. The attention the newsletter brought to the backlog sparked a flurry of activity. There was new discussion on process improvements, efforts to invite new editors to participate in NPP increased and more editors requested the NPP user right so they could help, and most importantly, the number of reviews picked up and the backlog decreased, dipping below 14,000 [a] at the end of May.
Since then, the news has not been so good. The backlog is basically flat, hovering around 14,200. I wish I could report the number of reviews done and the number of new articles added to the queue. But the available statistics we have are woefully inadequate. The only real number we have is the net queue size. [b]
In the last 30 days, the top 100 reviewers have all made more than 16 patrols (up from 8 last month), and about 70 have averaged one review a day (up from 50 last month).
While there are more people doing more reviews, many of the ~730 with the NPP right are doing little. Most of the reviews are being done by the top 50 or 100 reviewers. They need your help. We appreciate every review done, but please aim to do one a day (on average, or 30 a month).
A backlog reduction drive, coordinated by
buidhe and
Zippybonzo, will be held from July 1 to July 31. Sign up
here.
Barnstars will be awarded.
Many new articles on schools are being created by new users in developing and/or non-English-speaking countries. The authors are probably not even aware of Wikipedia's projects and policy pages. WP:WPSCH/AG has some excellent advice and resources specifically written for these users. Reviewers could consider providing such first-time article creators with a link to it while also mentioning that not all schools pass the GNG and that elementary schools are almost certainly not notable.
There is a new template available, {{
NPP backlog}}
, to show the current backlog. You can place it on your user or talk page as a reminder:
Very high unreviewed pages backlog: 13014 articles, as of 10:00, 11 July 2024 (UTC), according to DatBot
There has been significant discussion at WP:VPP recently on NPP-related matters (Draftification, Deletion, Notability, Verifiability, Burden). Proposals that would somewhat ease the burden on NPP aren't gaining much traction, although there are suggestions that the role of NPP be fundamentally changed to focus only on major CSD-type issues.

Hello Nick Moyes,
This is ConglomerateJoe, and I am Professor Little's student who is trying to help him get the armored mud balls article published. I don't know if you got his reply (it said his email bounced), but I was forwarded your message and I tried writing an email to you. Thank you for reaching out, and I am very glad you are willing to help us. We appreciate your cooperation!
I also read your replies to my post on User talk:Jimfbleak#Armored Mud Balls Draft. In making an article on armored mud balls I promise we are not trying to promote Prof. Little's campaign to get them officially recognized and protected by law, in fact the draft I submitted mentions nothing of this effort. Our goal is to simply contribute to the encyclopedia and educate the public on the existence of this geological phenomenon. I only mentioned the efforts to get armored mud balls protected in my post to Jimfbleak as one reason why they are a notable subject to have on Wikipedia. Also, in the draft I submitted I only cited the armoredmudballs.rocks website because I thought it would help avoid the copyright issue.
I am not entirely sure what you mean about a conflict of interest, but I can assure you that our only goal here is to contribute to the knowledge base of the encyclopedia by writing an educational article about the existence of a geological phenomenon.
Prof. Little recently submitted some new armored mud ball photos to Wikimedia commons by filling out the form to waive his copyright and licensing them under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International. I am wondering if it would be possible for him to do the same with the draft article that he published on the armored mud balls website (www.armoredmudballs.rocks). Is it possible that he could fill out a form or write a statement on the website in order to waive his copyright of the article text, thereby allowing us to publish an edited version of it on Wikipedia?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this. I would like to offer my apologies for any hassle that we have caused in not being experienced with publishing on Wikipedia. Thank you very much for your time!

Hello Nick Moyes,
After the last newsletter (No.28, June 2022), the backlog declined another 1,000 to 13,000 in the last week of June. Then the July backlog drive began, during which 9,900 articles were reviewed and the backlog fell by 4,500 to just under 8,500 (these numbers illustrate how many new articles regularly flow into the queue). Thanks go to the coordinators Buidhe and Zippybonzo, as well as all the nearly 100 participants. Congratulations to Dr vulpes who led with 880 points. See this page for further details.
Unfortunately, most of the decline happened in the first half of the month, and the backlog has already risen to 9,600. Understandably, it seems many backlog drive participants are taking a break from reviewing and unfortunately, we are not even keeping up with the inflow let alone driving it lower. We need the other 600 reviewers to do more! Please try to do at least one a day.

If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page.
If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

On 8 June 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Olga Rudenko, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Olga Rudenko, who was chosen as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper The Kyiv Independent, appeared on the cover of Time? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Olga Rudenko. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page ( here's how, Olga Rudenko), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

This user may be a sockpuppet of Factfanatic1. I noticed this user editing on Laura Harrier, and they have an extremely similar editing pattern to ff1. In addition, their username is also nearly identical to another of his socks. I know this user hasn't edited in a while, but blocking may be helpful to prevent more block evading edits. I was wondering if you could take a look at this user. 47.227.95.73 ( talk) 23:56, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
Sign up

There is a new template available, {{
NPP backlog}}
, to show the current backlog.

As per Wikipedia’s dispute resolution process, I was directed to administrators who have updated recently to help solve an editing dispute, before escalating the issue. I am kindly asking for your assistance.
I would like to report an error in the deletion of information on a page. Jungkook (the Main Vocalist of BTS) has been confirmed to have absolute pitch and this information was deleted from “the list of people with absolute pitch” page. I can provide multiple articles and sources that confirm this information. There is even a video of Jungkook proving this ability on camera. Can you please help to restore the correct information? I would greatly appreciate your help! Thank you!
Official video posted on the variety show, “RUN BTS” (Episode 150), of Jungkook proving he has absolute pitch on camera: https://m.vlive.tv › postRun BTS! 2021 - EP.150 - V LIVE
These are just several of the articles that confirm Jungkook has “absolute pitch”. I can provide you with more articles and more videos, if needed. Please let me know, thank you.

I went to you (a third party) for help, as per Wikipedia’s dispute resolution process. Why are you not looking into the actual content of the editing dispute, but instead siding with another administrator, and not trying to solve the editing dispute? Wikipedia wants us to find a third party instead of escalating the situation, which is exactly what I did. Moniinicole ( talk) 00:41, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
Best regards,
