Hi, You added to the list of Old Dunelmians, thanks for this. I have, however, undone the addition since you didn't reference it. I have done a lot of work referencing the alumni and it makes matters worse if people add unreferenced entries. If you could reference the addition perhaps? Thanks, -- Teach46 ( talk) 16:50, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the reference that you put on my talk page, I've reverted my deletion and added the ref. You're right about many of the entries not being referenced, there are something like 45 of the entries referenced. However, before I started a programme of referencing the list there were zero. When I asked for the Durham School article to be assessed for quality one of the reasons why it was only C class was because the alumni list was unreferenced which is why I am keen that we improve the situation not make it worse.
Thanks again, -- Teach46 ( talk) 12:07, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Excellent work. I would rather than we had detailed articles on every Burma article, short stubss are intended as a start towards something better. As for me starting "short geo stubs" with this account I have never done so. Thanks for the greetings. I did send you some messages some months back but you had probably taken a break from wiki. Glad to revive old assoication on wiki. In fact, I saw the Tamanthi dam site on the Chindwin River in 1973 as part of a bidding process for the project report preparation. I know NHPC of India have been involved with this project in the past few years. I will write on this in course of time as I am presently busy with 15 articles on monasteries in Tibet with Dr. Blofeld. In fact, my present consultancy work is only on Hydropower development. I have also written a few DYKs on PAs recently. Jessore Sloth Bear Sanctuary is right now on DYK for review. We will be in touch. Regards-- Nvvchar ( talk) 12:31, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Hi Marcus334, it looks like you are doing great work in Yeywa Dam and several articles in sandboxes in your userspace. I notice that the articles have used embedded template:infobox nrhp NRHP infoboxes within other infoboxes, perhaps to get a nice map display. However, the fact that these sites are not United States places listed in the NRHP ( National Register of Historic Places) causes them to show up in a WikiProject NRHP cleanup category and other U.S. categories. So, I wonder if you could use template:infobox historic site or another infobox for the same purpose. The embedding feature and mapping aspects for both the NRHP and Historic Sites infoboxes have been programmed by User:Dudemanfellabra, so i think they work similarly, and I think also that Dudemanfellabra would be able to help you if have any questions about making transition. Hope you don't mind if I change from NRHP to Historic Site in each of the articles. Again, nice work! -- doncram ( talk) 00:15, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:
Thanks for uploading File:Mary Irene Curzon.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.
As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.
If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.
You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

Marcus, I was doing some "fine tuning" of the article but noticed most of the information you added was copied near word-for-word from their respective sources. They were all copyrighted and I had to remove the information while salvaging some of it. I see you aren't new to Wikipedia, but copyright violations, not surprisingly, are prohibited. Take some time to read over the copy and paste info page and the one on close paraphrasing. If you have any questions let me know. I also highly suggest you consider whether you did this with past articles and clean those up if need be. By using much similar wording as the articles, it also injects the source's bias into the article. I understand you care about those that are affected by dams but articles need to remain neutral.-- NortyNort (Holla) 02:52, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. -- Ser Amantio di Nicolao Che dicono a Signa? Lo dicono a Signa. 05:21, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
Hello, Marcus334. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Tigerreservesmap2011.pdf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file that is not an image, sound file or video clip (e.g. a Word document or PDF file) that has no encyclopedic use.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The article Sairandhri has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
The article is full of original research. No reliable sources provided despite being asked since 2012. Two citations provided are one is a mail group and other one was a (now nonexistent) self-published photography site. Both are unreliable.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.

Thank you for uploading File:Ramesh Chindia cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude ( talk) 06:43, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

On 3 October 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that at least 257 species of butterfly (example pictured) have been recorded in Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary in the Indian state of Goa? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary.You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Hi. When you recently edited Bhimgad Wildlife Sanctuary, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sambar ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

There was originally a consensus to delete this article back in 2009 ([Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Directory of Environmental Organizations and Resource Persons in Tamil Nadu]]. It was userfied at your request so that it could be improved, but nothing has really changed since that happened.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.
