Thanks, I have served 21 years in the 206th and the 39th BCT, including 2 tours in Iraq. One of my closest friends just retired with 43 years of service in the Regiment and his dad was with the same unit at the battle of Dutch Harbor, so it's kind of a labor of love.

The article Bibliography of Arkansas National Guard History has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{
dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{

will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other

speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.

Sorry I've been away from wikipedia for a while I guess you could say. Most of the sources for the article are freely available online. The Driggs thesis can be ordered though proquest
Here I'd really suggest google books, there are several old books that are just encyclopedias of people, and I remember quite a few of them being soldiers.
I usually concentrate on politics, I would greatly appreciate you flushing out the militia history. I know the article is about a supposed "war" and yet there isn't much discussion about troops and battles and things. I know one thing that bothers me is that the Baxter men referred to themselves as "the Hallie Riflers" and the boat that was sunk in the Battle of Palarm was also named Hallie, and I haven't been able to determine if this is just a coincidence, and if not where that name came from. That's just one of many things I still haven't figured out.
As for getting it featured, that's just a tactic that I use to provoke critiques when I get stuck on an article and I need feedback to improve it. I doubt this article, being about southern post civil war politics, will ever be passable because it will never be unbiased enough. But I too find the reconstruction period to be incredibly interesting, I like studying politics in chaos. So it gives me an endless amount of things to do to research the BB War deeper and deeper.

No, I can't find any good reference for what abbreviations were used in the 19th century. I am sure that the US Army's standard abbreviations were changed around the middle of the 20th century to all upper-case letters without a period, such as Capt. -> CAPT, Maj. -> MAJ, and so on. Perhaps you could find 19th-century military books on Google Books or elsewhere that could give you a some good examples. Sorry I can't provide more help. Happy editing! The article Bibliography of Arkansas National Guard History has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{
dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{
dated prod}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. The
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.

I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bibliography of Arkansas National Guard History. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}

the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on

Happy editing! hi Damon, sorry about the confusion, i meant to let you know once it had been approved. as you've seen the defintion you probably realise by now its more for the benefit of the people who patrol new pages (of which i'm one). it does not mean the articles you create wont be checked or commented on by anyone, they will, it just means that because the qualtiy of your articles has been so good the new page patrollers dont need to worry about them. anyway, keep up the good work! cheers -- The Elves Of Dunsimore ( talk) 01:34, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Flag of the 6th Arkansas, (Hardee Pattern).gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
