Spassky District ( Russian: Спа́сский райо́н) is an administrative district ( raion), one of the forty in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. [1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Spassky Municipal District. [3] It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 706.6 square kilometers (272.8 sq mi). [1] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Spasskoye. [1] Population: 10,998 ( 2010 Census); [2] 13,533 ( 2002 Census); [5] 16,204 ( 1989 Soviet census). [6] The population of Spasskoye accounts for 35.9% of the district's total population. [2]
