I´ve been active on Wikipedia for more than 3 years now and have worked on
WP:NETH and
WP:DEORPHAN, acquiring experience with PROD and AfD. I have created articles mainly on the Dutch Wikipedia but also on the english and spanish sites. I am convinced Wikipedia is a very important tool for research and source of information. I would like to do more to maintain Wikipedia and I would like to help others to start writing articles. I made a first (for now) unsuccessful attempt to become a New Page Reviewer and I hope that participating in the AfC process will be my next step to become a better Wikipedian.

I have good AfD participation and vandalism experience. I'd love to start to lighten the load for AfC reviewers. I took a glance at the recent AfC requests, did some cleanup editing on them, but a lot of them have problems that I think will be important to point out for those who submit the drafts. Thank you in advance for your consideration! TLA(talk)11:53, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
Re-applying, as have 500+ mainspace edits. Per the above, and I'm frankly a little bit disappointed with the amount of questionable / lack of references here (many editors aren't super aware of the obscure paid markings, see
this) so a chunk of my editing career so far has been dedicated to that. AfC is definitely a process that would really help with this notability policy. TLA(talk)05:20, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
(Non-administrator comment):
I'm tla, of your 1,000 edits, over 800 have been in the last day and a half, including 50 nominations at AfD. I'm just concerned that this is a bit fast - even while making a lot of edits, time is also helpful for gaining experience. Also, out of curiosity, how are you finding so many articles to nominate so quickly?
Hi, thanks for the comment. You're right about it being a bit fast, but I like to say I'm a fast learner and am aware of the notability requirements. I typically go through
WP:WikiProject_Unreferenced_articles, look at film festivals (which have a pattern of not having
WP:GNG sources), search up deprecated sources. TLA(talk)05:51, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
Not done, again, because you do not meet the requirements. You did not meet the numerical requirements yesterday, and smashing through 500 article-space gnoming edits (so many of which are wrong or unnecessary I stopped looking) does not demonstrate that you understand the notability guidelines. Nor does voting in 161(!!) AFDs in 24 hours. At this point in time I simply don't trust that you have good intentions. Do not come back for a while.

I have created and contributed to a number of articles I consider good quality so I am familiar with how to properly source & reference articles. I am very familiar with notability guidlines, including special ones for people, organisations and etc.
As of today, I have hit 509+ live edits.
I have reviewed new pages and nominated bad ones for speedy deletion in the past. I would like to take a kind approach AfCs to help new users become valuable contributors for articles that have potential but are missing certain qualities needed to be on Wikipedia.

Thanks for raising that, but there were a few valid concerns with the user, at least from what I think. Also, I feel like that is more of an issue RE: NPP? TLA(talk)21:09, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
While the ANI article in question was blank, per
WP:NPPHOUR, I should have allowed the creator at least an hour to prepare the article. This also applied to
Civil Service lifeboats, which I rushed as well. Originally the lede was "The Lifeboat Fund is...." so I thought it would be an uncontroversial page move. So now I know for sure to give time for articles that look fine before any major changes; just helping with categories and some little formatting errors. So while I believe I have strong knowledge of notability requirements, it seems I have some issues with some of the guidelines regarding NPP. This is why I decided to sign up for
WP:NPPSCHOOL.
Overall, I'm probably a little too
WP:BOLD. But simultaneously, I think tackling these more complicated situations and being non-
WP:GNOME gives me a lot more to learn as I plan to edit Wikipedia long-term. I've also begun to spend more time at teahouse asking questions.
AfC, in my opinion, is like NPP-lite as it deals with less things; encyclopedic terms, non-promo, and proper sourcing that supports notability, which is why I believe I was ready to work on it after spending time a month at NPP feed. And yes I have read
WP:AFCR. TLA(talk)20:38, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
@
I'm tla thanks for the thoughtful response but just to clarify, the article you moved to draft was
not blank. It had an infobox. Blank means literally nothing. Please also do not make any changes to a new article while someone is actively editing it, even to add categories as it creates edit conflicts for the creator. Believe me, it's frustrating to be in the middle of creating an article and loosing an edit you spent 15 minutes on because another editor added categories in the interim or some other minor edit, much less moving the page. Primefac, I don't have an issue with the standard probation period though DreamRimmer might understandably disagree.

I'm tla, I am walking back my support given the other perm requests you've made within the same day (Autopatrol and AWB) along with the second NPP Reviewer request made on the 11th. I don't think you are hearing the "slow down" message. You were taken to ANI about you early/improper AfD closures yet in under a month you are back at it.

@
S0091, I appreciate you caring for Wikipedia's goals in concerns about me acting too fast. But I would say that early AfD closures, don't relate in anyway to Autopatrolled, AWB, and AfC reviewing... (you're right about NPP reviewer I act too fast). None of that clouds my judgement of notability, formatting, and encyclopedic guidelines at all. TLAtlak00:37, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
@
I'm tla it goes to general
competence and the ability to take on board what other experienced editors are telling you. All perms require you have gained the trust of the community which takes time. You've only been editing for about two months, have consistently been told to slow down and that some of things you are doing are out-of-process yet you barrel ahead. Primefac or another admin will make their own assessment and may find my concerns are not compelling/compelling enough. Side note - Primefac usually reviews requests on the weekend so it will likely be a few days before they respond.
S0091 (
talk)
16:38, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
I get it. It comes down to experience, definitely. But I hope it's worthy to consider that at the last ANI, a concern was closing AfDs before 7 days was up, which I haven't repeated since, and not marking "Non-admin closure", which I've marked consistently thanks to the XfD closer gadget. It was also suggested by other editors that I try to do more content creation, rather than just going through NPP feed and voting on AfDs, which I have carried out.
I understand that it may seem like hat collecting, but being an AfC reviewer looks like a great way to demonstrate my understanding of page creation on Wikipedia. I also often see that the backlog gets extremely big and a lot of submissions take weeks, which I can understand would be really annoying for editors waiting on their submissions' results. Same with Autopatrolled, if I remember correctly the backlog was 9K or something which is insane.
When I started article creation, I had a couple declines here and there, but I eventually turned them into acceptances (apart from the
Draft:Christopher Slayton article which is ehh debatably notable, so I thought it was a sort of
WP:TOOSOON case). Eventually I got comfortable making my articles in the mainspace and it seems I've been relatively successful in that. Anyway, you're right, it comes down to what Primefac assesses. Thanks. TLAtlak17:08, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

For further information, I have only had 6 actually articles deleted. The rest were on talk pages / deleted to clean up space, such as my request for adminship. 3 of the articles I created that have been deleted were deleted by me, either because I realized they were not notable enough, or because of a name misspell (Battle of Namka Chun). The 3 that were deleted by others, 1 of them I was able to recreate. And the final 2 that were deleted by others and I was not able to recreate, were articles I did earlier into my time as a Wikipedia editor. I have not had any "problems" at AFD unless you are considering not agreeing with others on certain decisions as problems. Any mistakes that I have made have shown me not to make those mistakes again and why, and I believe that making these mistakes has given me more knowledge than somebody who never makes any mistakes. 33% success at AFD is a problem. You are correct that the deleted pages are not a significant portion of the pages you have written overall, but I also just found the copyright violation among your deleted pages. This decline is not a "never", just a "not now".
Primefac (

08:33, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
That's because according to that it says I have only participated in 3 AfDs (which is incorrect). The one for the
List of military engagements of World War II is wrong, I was the one who created the AfD and I wanted it to be merged. It saying that I wanted it to be deleted is an error with the system, so I should have 66% success. Although I have not participated in many AfDs directly, I have viewed countless other AfDs, so I am more familiar with the process than it shows.
Antny08 (

A 66% success rate is still very low and a recent copyright violation is an indicator that you are not yet experienced enough for this right. Not done, please continue to gain experience with AfD and content policies rather than arguing with this decline.

The copyright violation was because I was basing the text on an article off of a source I was using. It does not show I am not experienced enough in any way. I realized my mistake and as I stated earlier mistakes help you learn better than not making them in the first place. I recreated the article using my own words and it still up to this day. Having only 1 AfD result turn out against the consensus is not bad. Also note the copyright violation was multiple months ago, in my earlier times on Wikipedia, it is not that recent. Please reconsider.

I am an experienced Wikipedian with an extensive record of article creations and other contributions over an 18-year period (>50,000 edits, >300 articles created). I have recently started exploring the AfC space and have noticed some promising drafts in areas of my particular expertise, which I would like to bring to article space and improve. I would expect my future reviewing activity to be focused on the same general areas. I am on Wikipedia every day and can commit to responding to queries promptly. I'm requesting AFC helper script rights as I currently participate in recent changes/new pages patrolling and AfDs, and would like to contribute to the project further.
I've read the reviewer criteria and believe I meet them:
Experience in the quick-fail criteria review step from work on speedy deletions, vandalism patrols.
Experience in the notability and verifiability review step from participation in AfDs and my general editing/page creation.
I've been editing a lot of articles in the US football project, and have noticed that some articles have gone quite a while without a review (see
Draft:2024 Hartford Athletic Season for example). I'd love to be a reviewer to encourage and help new Wikipedia editors.

I have an experience with
WP:AFD and reverting articles. As a participator of WikiProject Articles for creation, I have now the experience of:
reject/decline the draft if the draft has low on citations and no notable support between
independent sources and the draft itself.
approve of these drafts and move them to article space if theres a connection between independent sources, affiliated sources and the draft must have a inline citations. If does the article had 1550 letters, then I slapped (means 'nominate deletion of the article) and copyright violation.
declining of the draft submitted because breaks the
WP:GNG,
WP:BIO, etc.
I would like to review AfC primarily on British non-profit organisations, international relations, militaries and politics.

Requesting AfC reviewer to help out in more general areas of Wikipedia, which includes decreasing the backlog. My account is about a year old, and while I've created very few articles overall (25~), I would say I have pretty good comprehension of the notability guidelines. I have plenty of experience in AfD,
having participated in it nearly as long as I've been on Wikipedia with a 62% success rate (+ more if you count merges). I also have a general idea of other notability guidelines, but I only say "general idea" because I don't write articles for, say, sports players. I would respond to questions quickly as I am very active on-wiki. λNegativeMP1 04:41, 5 April 2024 (UTC) λNegativeMP104:41, 5 April 2024 (UTC)

I've been on Wikipedia for a year and made 30k undeleted edits. As I understand the reviewing instructions, AfC is preemptive, conservative AfD: rejecting articles that would very likely, and for good reason, be deleted at AfD. (And outside of CSD material, notability is the main such reason.) I've spent some time participating in/reading deletion discussions, as well as reviewing/applying deletion and notability policy, and I think I have a decent grasp of these.I want to participate because it's discouraging for a new editor to have their draft sit in pending for months. Keeping the AfC process running smoothly and correctly isn't just about the articles themselves, it's also about keeping Wikipedia welcoming to newcomers without sacrificing encyclopedic standards.

Also, out of curiosity, how are you finding so many articles to nominate so quickly?
Hi, thanks for the comment. You're right about it being a bit fast, but I like to say I'm a fast learner and am aware of the notability requirements. I typically go through

Since my last request, I've created 17 articles (including 10 BLPs), none if which are deleted, and have maintained strong AfD records and refrained from gnoming, well surpassing the edit criteria. Would be happy to chip away the backlog. TLA(talk)09:18, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

The ANI thread isn’t the issue here. They have been advised many times to avoid moving any newly created article to draftspace or nominating them for deletion. However, they continue to draftify articles shortly after creation. I noticed this happening again when I saw that ANI thread. –

S0091 (

I don't anticipate any difficulty using the AFC Helper Script process to assist editors who have drafted reasonably well-sourced articles on spaceflight topics. (

Hello, I am a Wikipedia user that is interested in helping others improve their articles. I am an extended-confirmed user, and have over 1000 edits on here (some I have deleted). I have created many articles on Wikipedia, and am looking to help others do the same thing. I have never had any action taken against me for violating any rules, because I have not violated any. As an AfC participant, I will use my knowledge of Wikipedia and my skill to accurately, unbiasedly, and efficiently help to review articles to help make Wikipedia a better place. I am an active user and can actively check on articles and help improve them during the drafting process. Thank you for your time!
UPDATE TO APPLICATION: I have throughly reviewed Wikipedia notability guidelines, and countless other guidelines for Wikipedia, so I believe I am fit to review articles. I am fully willing to quickly answer questions from any users. Thank you.
The deleted articles I have deleted myself except for some, and I have not had problems with AFD, I have only had discussions with people about what is correct and what is not. I ask that you please reconsider, as I believe I am more than fit to be a reviewer. Thank you and have a good day.

Thank you for your time, and I once again ask that you reconsider.

Please reconsider.

reject/decline the draft if the draft has low on citations and no notable support between
independent sources and the draft itself.
approve of these drafts and move them to article space if theres a connection between independent sources, affiliated sources and the draft must have a inline citations. If does the article had 1550 letters, then I slapped (means 'nominate deletion of the article) and copyright violation.
declining of the draft submitted because breaks the

reviewing instructions and will start reviewing carefully right away, if access is given. Thank you for considering my request! '''[[User:CanonNi]]''' (

I would like to help move promising drafts into the mainspace and return the cruddier drafts back to their authors. I don't plan on using the tools much as writing/reviewing GAs is where my interests are at, though. As a content creator, I have created a few articles myself and have light AfD experience. I also got a crash course on notability from NPP school (on which I feel pretty confident about now) but never finished as my teacher went inactive.

I wish to provide help to AfC, as it serves an important role in making sure Wikipedia's information is kept up to its standards of quality, notability, and maintaining a neutral point of view. In other words, I want to help the encyclopedia be a useful collection of information, rather than an indiscriminate collection of information.

I 've been inactive on Wikipedia for a while and have since returned. I was a participant
here before being idle. With my return, I would like to help clear up the backlog more.

I've been a dedicated Wikipedian for several years now in terms of creating new articles and editing existing ones, and would like to expand my responsibilities by also being able to review new articles.

Trying to return to (some!) activity again, and keen to start reviewing submissions again and helping those getting the up to standard. I've reviewed the relevant guidelines and hopefully know where to find stuff out to check if needed!

I'd like to help the backlog, and improve Wikipedia! I have over 13,000 edits in over 13 years contributing, including a handful of page creations. If given access, I can start reviewing right away, as I've just familiarized myself with the AfC guidelines.

I would be happy to assist with reviewing drafts and managing the backlog. I have thoroughly reviewed the provided criteria and instructions, and I believe I'm experienced enough to have this permission.

I have extensive experience with new page creation, reliable source guidelines, notability policies and participation at AfD, and I'd love to help out with reducing the AfC backlog. Thanks!

This tool is invaluable for editors like me who enjoy reviewing articles. Although I haven't been granted the New Page Reviewer right, I still want to contribute by helping to reduce the backlog. The tool was suggested to me by Admin Extraordinary Writ to my Request of New Pages Reviewers. This tool will greatly help me in reviewing articles that are ready and not ready for acceptance.

Avs5221, you'll have to forgive me, but I'm not seeing any evidence you were formerly an AFC helper. When were you last active with the project?

No problem, it's been several years at least. If I need to reestablish a track record, I understand. I chose to take a more passive role in editing as real life got busier, but my knowledge of Wikipedia rules and policies is still pretty

Not done for now; you were last active in 2013, and the guidelines and policies have changed quite dramatically since then. A bit more activity, especially in areas such as XfD and CSD, will help to show that you're up-to-date on all the relevant criteria.

Requesting afc helper rights to help review articles. I think it would be a good use of my time. I have put 3 articles through the AfC process, so I generally understand how it is supposed to go.

I would love to assist in reviewing articles. I had talked to a few reviewers such as KylieTastic before applying, who said I am eligible and can go ahead and apply. I have good enough AfD experience. I have created a lot of articles through AfC. I would also love to help with managing the backlog. I had submitted an application earlier, but at the time I didn't meet the requirements, but now I believe I am worth having this permission.

90 days old (my account age is more than 11 months)
at least 500 undeleted edits (according to XTools I have 762 Live edits)
thoroughly read the reading instructions
(I read the reviewing instructions thoroughly, the notability guidelines, and the AFD guidelines)
a willingness and ability to respond in a timely manner to questions about their reviews. (I have time on my hands, and I can respond to questions)

Reason for requesting afc helper script rights, and I have understood all guidelines to be followed for the sports and esports community notability, and I have experience in editing stub articles/incomplete articles too, and I would love to help reviewing pending submitted esports and sports articles in the Wikipedia community, to help reduce AfC backlogs. Thank you!

I have some experience with AfC and AfD, and believe I meet the minimum requirements for a reviewer. I aim to contribute to the reduction of the AfC backlog, especially in the areas of STEM, biographies of academics, and academic institutions. I have a good deal of experience in copy editing and fixing errors which should be useful in assisting those who submit to AfC.

I would like to review AfCs to help deal with the backlog, encourage new editors to continue contributing, and deal with content not appropriate for Wikipedia. I have experience creating articles, participating in AfDs, using CSD and PROD tags, and assessing the notability of articles. I have read and fully understood the reviewing instructions and am familiar with Wikipedia policies and guidelines.

Just noting (mainly for my own benefit) that currently the AFD stats are wrong, two of the nominations were advocating for merging and that is what happened, so it's an 80% accuracy instead of 40%. Hopefully as time passes this will not matter as more AFD stats are added.
