This page is a log for a community-authorised contentious topic regime. It is used to record notifications issued and sanctions imposed under that regime, as specified below. Changes to this page must adhere to the contentious topics procedure. |
A community discussion at the administrators' noticeboard has placed all pages with content related to post-1978 Iranian politics, broadly construed, under indefinite general sanctions, effective 10:22, 17 August 2019.
This remedy authorizes the contentious topics designation, as described below. Sanctions imposed cannot be undone by another administrator without approval of the sanctioning administrator or by an appeal to
WP:AN. Pages may be tagged with {{
IRANPOL GS talk}}, and {{
IRANPOL GS editnotice}} may be used to indicate that articles are under general sanctions. The presence of these templates is not a prerequisite for issuing sanctions, but editors must be made aware of these sanctions prior to being sanctioned. Editors must be notified of the contentious topic designation with the {{
subst:gs/alert|irp}}
template or by a talk page message linking to this page. For blocks, use {{
subst:Uw-csblock}} or inform them of the block using a custom message. Sanctions imposed under this regime must be logged below.
Log any block, ban or extension under any remedy here. Minimum information includes name of administrator, date and time, what was done and the basis for doing it.
