Lars Fause

Hi there - just wanted to leave a quick thank you note for your edits at Lars Fause. I re-read the sources and realized that I had misinterpreted them (especially the headlines: "Fause is first gender-neutral Governor, etc.") and that it was only talking about his title. I also have altered the proposed DYK hook that I nominated it with ( here) - I believe the hook there is correct now. I appreciate the help! PCN02WPS ( talk | contribs) 16:42, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

PCN02WPS, no problems. The hedline on the source definitely lends itself to the sort of reading you gave it at first. I think the revised DYK hook works well too... Carter (Tcr25) ( talk) 16:48, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

Rating

Hi, thanks for rating Sir John Hamilton, 1st Baronet, of Marlborough House. Could you tell me what it's missing from the B-class criteria, so that it might be improved? Many thanks, Pickersgill-Cunliffe ( talk) 00:00, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi Pickersgill-Cunliffe, Because WP:MILHIST has a pretty formal process for B-class assessment, and because I'm focused on clearing the back log of unassessed biographies, I tend to be conservative in ranking things. Overall, the article looks good to me, but I would suggest listing it at WP:MHAR for a more formal assessment. — Carter (Tcr25) ( talk) 00:58, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Thanks and further help with image

Thank you for the editing of Mary H. J. Henderson image whitespace in the infobox. I had a similar issue with Elsie Cameron Corbett and would welcome your assistance (or any guidance as to how-to remove this here as well). Much appreciated - still a learner! Kaybeesquared ( talk) 16:55, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Hello Kaybeesquared. I've gone ahead and fixed the Corbett photo too. All I did was to bring the image into a photo-editing program (Gimp, Photoshop, Affinity Photo, even MS Paint might work) and then cropped it so that the excess whitespace caused during scanning was removed. With the Corbett image I had to upload it as a new file since the original was a PDF, not JPG; the Henderson one just needed to be uploaded as a new version of the file. If you have any specific questions about it all, just let me know! — Carter (Tcr25) ( talk) 19:29, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Tcr25 and thanks to you for the repair job at the Hall of Fame. I could not figure it out until your repair showed me what the problem was. Forgetfulness! Thanks ― Buster7  20:23, 15 August 2021 (UTC)

Étienne Perier (governor)

Hello again:

I've now finished my copy edit of Étienne Perier (governor) for the GOCE. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

As far as I'm concerned the article meets GA requirements. It most certainly is significantly better than a C-class. Best of luck moving forward.

Regards,

Twofingered Typist ( talk) 13:50, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Thank you very much, Twofingered Typist. I have gone in and tried to address the question points and will give it another look over. Thanks for giving it a final polish! — Carter (Tcr25) ( talk) 13:53, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Barnstar of Diplomacy
For your work at Étienne Perier (governor), not the article I would've thought would end up as a GA nomination, but you took it the extra mile. Eostrix  ( 🦉 hoot hoot🦉) 14:40, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Thanks, Eostrix, I honestly didn't know how that process would end up, but I'm pretty happy with the final result :). Thanks for weighing in on it, too! — Carter (Tcr25) ( talk) 14:44, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Greene is dead: why did you change his Tale page to "living" etc.? - Aboudaqn ( talk) 19:25, 22 October 2021 (UTC)

Oops, I'm using the Rater tool to try and clear out the backlog of unassessed biography articles. I missed that "living" was checked ... sorry 'bout that. — Carter (Tcr25) ( talk) 19:29, 22 October 2021 (UTC)
Got your back, jack! ;) - Aboudaqn ( talk) 19:32, 22 October 2021 (UTC)
Aboudaqn, I just looked at the edit. I had it marked as living=no. I'm going to rollback your revert so that the rating and WP:Law template are back in place. And that was already there; the thing I added was needs-infobox=y. — Carter (Tcr25) ( talk) 19:34, 22 October 2021 (UTC)
Okay, then you got my back (thank you) – and I'll add the InfoBox me-self as further apologies - Aboudaqn ( talk) 19:38, 22 October 2021 (UTC)

The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Suohpanterror.

I'll do that; thanks again. Pickersgill-Cunliffe ( talk) 13:31, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for doing that and your handy guide..I find Wikipedia / Commons help pages can be confusing for fairly simple tasks. This is much appreciated. Kaybeesquared ( talk) 21:16, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Welcome to The Wikipedia Adventure!

Hi Tcr25! We're so happy you wanted to play to learn, as a friendly and fun way to get into our community and mission. I think these links might be helpful to you as you get started.
