Welcome to my talk page. Please leave me a message below and I will generally reply on your talk page. Although my email address is enabled, it is not an address I check often (so I may be slow in replying to email and very much prefer to have conversations here). Please also note that while I am glad to do a peer review on just about any article, it will often take me a few days, and I do not usually have the time to do copyedits (sorry). If you want me to review an article, please open a peer review on it. Thanks for stopping by and happy editing! Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:58, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

I finally got around to splitting this off from List of bridges on the National Register of Historic Places in Pennsylvania. I still have some checking to do: There are 201 covered bridges and 191 other bridges and tunnels, but only 390 total in the original file. (I suspect my counting skills are to blame). Any help as far as a quick look at the format or text would be appreciated. BTW, when the leaves turn, I'm going to take a trip to Columbia County - lots of covered bridges there.

All the best.

Beatrix Potter

Hi Ruhrfisch,

I saw your {{refimprove}} template at Beatrix Potter.

I don't see anything challenged there and there doesn't seem to be anything there likely to be challenged. The broad details of Beatrix Potter's life are of course very well known. I suppose some of the minutiae of her scientific work might be challeneged. The aticle is very well sourced of course.

Can you put on its talk page please a summary of your concerns. That would be helpful. Thank you. 81.178.38.169 ( talk) 22:50, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

I propose to add some citations from Linda Lear (2007). It's difficult to understand exactly what is wanted. One would have hoped that an administrator who adds a template like this would be more forthcoming, especially when I see that the editor responsible for the expansion you originally messaged was encouraged to "ask" . Exactly what is challenged here or raising concerns?
You mentioned The Story of Miss Moppet as a model and I shall follow that; that is to say not citing literally every assertion, though as I say, lacking guidance, it's indeed hard to know what is wanted. Thank you. 81.178.38.169 ( talk) 23:41, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
I am quite busy in real life and have not edited much in the past few days. I will add some comments on the Beatrix Potter talk page in the next day or so. Please be patient. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 00:52, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

German consonants

I'm just starting on your comments at the Offenbach PR, but may I ski off-piste for a moment apropos of what you say about Jacob/Jakob. My own family has background in the Rhineland but there is some doubt whether great-grandpa was "Horbach" or "Horback". Do you suppose it might in fact be one and the same? Another copyright issue

Yes, the article for Ivan Kral is all copy-pasted from what I can tell, from his own biography! { http://www.ivankral.net/bio.html]. I wish Admins. and editors in general would put less emphasis on creating articles as they do how the articles are created' and better yet, whether they finish the darned things. I tagged it and wrote a note on the talk page there. -- Leahtwosaints ( talk) 09:47, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

I added John Day Fossil Beds National Monument to the PR list just now, and I'm planning to leave it there for quite a while. Paul Kelly PR

I'm working my way through your comments at Paul Kelly's PR. I've a query about I would at least make redirects for the band names to the sections on them in this article. Do you mean article Redirects e.g. [[Paul Kelly and the Dots]] re-directs to [[Paul Kelly (musician)]] whereas do you suggest it re-directs to [[Paul Kelly (musician)#1974.E2.80.931984: Early career and with the Dots]] instead? Or do you mean that the Lead's second sentence should have such a link: e.g. "including [[Paul Kelly (musician)#1974.E2.80.931984: Early career and with the Dots|the Dots]],"?

I've had a go at expanding the captions on the sound samples and an image: is this the sort of thing you had in mind?

Once again, thank you for your advice. shaidar cuebiyar ( talk) 01:46, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the clarification (I've transcluded your reply to the PR page for continuity). I've Redirected the first two and placed an entry on the dab page. I will work on incorporating the newly added caption material into the adjacent text. shaidar cuebiyar ( talk) 04:35, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Dr. No

Thanks very much for your input on Dr. No: I've undertaken most of the edits except two: one I am not sure about the source of information (er the bikinis) and the second (about the cast) I'll need to take a bit more time on to do it properly, but I will be working on it shortly. Thanks again for undertaking the review. - SchroCat ( ^@) 08:39, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi there, I've now finished off the casting section so that the cast is much slimmed down and the narrative section is more complete, with Connery as a separate sub-section. The legacy section also has info about the bikini too. May thanks once again for looking over this - it's much apperciated. - SchroCat ( ^@) 13:33, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

Peer reviewing

A situation has arisen which means I shall have to take a short enforced wikibreak - I hope for not more than a couple of weeks. So after tomorrow (30th) I won't be able to do the PR housekeeping, or indeed to help with reviewing. I'm sorry to drop this on you when there's still a pretty big backlog (though I notice that the rate of input to the process has slowed down recently). I trust that I will be able to resume normal service in mid-September, and will keep my fingers crossed that the system doesn't get overloaded meantime. Pennsylvania townships

I realize that category talk pages are not the usual place for discussions, but I think this is the best place for this discussion. It covers all of the townships in Pennsylvania. There has been much discussion lately about how township names in Pennsylvania should be titled. Some go for X Township, Pennsylvania. Others want X Township, Y County, Pennsylvania. Of course there are many Washington Townships in Pennsylvania so they and others like it will need to include the county name in the title. The townships in question are the unique ones like Horton Township and Plunketts Creek Township. I think it is best to limit this discussion to Pennsylvania. If other wikiprojects want to do it differently that is fine. The status of townships vary greatly from state to state.

Kent State addition of Bob Pickett

Thank you for your May post regarding why you deleted by uncle's inclusion on the list Kent State Alumni. There are numerous articles on my uncle for your information and he fits the "notability" assessment you made reference to. For example, please look at the NY Daily News article ( http://articles.nydailynews.com/2009-10-08/entertainment/17937497_1_radio-open-line-show) written about him and his radio show in NYC. This Show is a major Show in NYC -- the number 1 market in the U.S. Google his name and you will see that he was one of the major players in the Kent State May 4th event, subsequently became National Chairman of the Black America Law Students Association while at The University of Michigan Law School, former judge in NJ and participant in major cases in NJ and NY. To leave his name off the list of "notable" Kent alumni is a travesty. I know he does not care about such acknowledgement but his friends and family do. This is the second or third time that you have decided unilaterally to remove his name from the list of KSU notables. Please review your decision and add him to the list of notable alumni from Kent State and the University of MIchigan Law School. He deserves that. There is no conflict in that statement and in my posture on this matter. It is a matter of public record. Thank you. Dietrick Pickett Pickett303 ( talk) 16:39, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

Flood

Thanks for sharing the pic of the flood. Did the covered bridges in Sullivan and eastern Lycoming County make it through okay? I've seen pics of lots of damage at Knoebels. Too bad it happened there, but the end of the season would be the "best" time for that. I checked Ricketts Glen State Park's page and it said that the falls trail is closed until further notice. Do we add this to the article(s) or wait for further developments? I am getting ready to read the news from the Sun-Gazette right now. Gerry D ( talk) 15:30, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

I guess we just need to hope for the best on the covered bridges. We'll soon know one way or the other. Gerry D ( talk) 18:15, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

I found an article in the Towanda paper that says Sonestown was evacuated, but doesn't mention the bridge. I would imagine the Sunday papers will have more information. article here Gerry D ( talk) 23:56, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

I've been concerned about the facilities at Worlds End too. From what I've read getting up 87 isn't going to happen for awhile. Gerry D ( talk) 02:50, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
I wonder if the Williamsport & North Branch stations at Sonestown and Nordmont made it through. The railroad grade is higher up the valley than the road, but what an awful flood! I'm gland you made it through OK. (Not too bad down here in Delaware, aside from dodging the odd tornado during Irene.) Choess ( talk) 02:09, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
Good to hear from you, too. I'm sorry, it's been a while on my part as well. These should be the correct locations for Sonestown and Nordmont. From old photos, it looks as though they probably resemble Pennsdale, but now that I look at the terrain, I feel pretty confident they made it through. Choess ( talk) 03:50, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
It sounds like the W&NB built better than they knew! I don't think the Peck Rd. bridge is ex-railroad, although it may be vintage. The main line was up on the hillside in the back of the picture; a spur came down to reach the station. There was a dual gauge track behind the depot, and a narrow gauge track in front, part of the lead to the clothespin factory, which was on the flats to the south of the depot. Nothing to see there now. The Eagles Mere RR (narrow gauge) crossed the creek on a diagonal a bit further north, crossing old 220 just north of Maple St. Thanks very much for the picture; I'll incorporate it into the W&NB article. Choess ( talk) 05:27, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
Ah! More good news. Latest update says Forksville is undamaged, Hillsgrove has "major siding damage" but not destroyed. Choess ( talk) 05:37, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
The bridge was probably for both the depot and the clothespin factory, which was on the east side of Muncy Creek to the south of the depot. I had heard about the LV bridge, maybe from one of your earlier postings. I hope it gets rebuilt. It's amazing to see what an angry stream can do. Choess ( talk) 02:56, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
Different industry. Ricketts was a part owner (with Trexler & Turrell) of Big Run Mfg., which had a stave mill in Sonestown 1914–1922. From the one photo I've seen of it, I tend to think it was on the west side of town, probably just south of where current 220 crosses Cemetery Rd.; 220 was probably built right across the mill site. Agreed that there's plenty to write about Ricketts, the lumber industry up in the Endless Mountains, some of the LV branches serving it, etc. Will try to draw on Taber to help with that sometime. Choess ( talk) 03:49, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Panos and other things

Thanks. I'm having a great time with the photography. I have two or three other panos to upload as well as some more singles. Until earlier this year, I almost never uploaded any images that I couldn't add to an article. I have way too many good fossil-bed ones to fit, and I don't think a gallery would be a good idea. However, just adding them to the Commons may be useful. The weather has gone from very hot to slightly cool, and the skies have been much more interesting for the past two days. The Internet connection here is quite erratic; I will wait until we are home again to do the final touch-ups and nominate the article. I'm glad your bridge survived, though it's certainly worse for wear. Finetooth ( talk) 23:12, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Wow! 100. I have seen quite a few of them but not that many. I'll have to look again. By the way, I did not know about the Crater Lake image on quarters. That certainly is worth mentioning. I plan to turn my attention to Crater Lake once the John Day Fossil Beds article is put to bed and the Oregon Caves article gets quite a bit further along. Each will require a photo trip, which I'm looking forward to. Both places, especially Crater Lake, are hard to get to in winter. Maybe next spring for the cave photos and summer for the lake. Hi Ruhrfisch. Your comments at the peer review represent consensus among editors (at least with me). An user is ignoring this fact and is still removing sourced content without reason. I inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard#Jared Leto, and you can leave a comment if you want. Best regards.-- Earthh ( talk) 17:39, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

A comment by one user is not a consensus, nor does it override the consensus established by several users already editing the article. Nymf hideliho! 20:45, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
There isn't any consensus of your unexplained removal of content. The only consensus I see is at the peer review.-- Earthh ( talk) 20:47, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
Again, one comment is not a consensus! It's impossible for one comment - by one user - to reflect a consensus, as the very definition of a consensus is that it's a decision made by a group. There are three different editors disagreeing with you (read: group!), and one very vague comment (interpreted by you) by a user who may or may not be familiar with the issues of the removed material. Nymf hideliho! 21:00, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

I'm just starting on your comments at the Offenbach PR, but may I ski off-piste for a moment apropos of what you say about Jacob/Jakob.

Also, we have explained more than once why it has been removed. You are just ignoring things. Nymf hideliho! 21:00, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
Kindly take your content dispute elsewhere. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:52, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
Apologies. I didn't mean to bring it here. Nymf hideliho! 07:02, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Ernie Fletcher (again)

Just wanted to let you know that Ernie Fletcher is at FAC again. You supported the previous nomination. Unfortunately, you were the only one to register a !vote in the month that the nomination was open. Hoping for more reviews this time. Yep. I missed the transclusion step. Now that peer reviews and GACs get listed automatically, I'm getting bad about that. Thanks! Acdixon ( talk · contribs · count) 13:21, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
