Hi, you said, "all the other awards on Wiki have bolding for winners, keep for continuity unless do for all." I can understand you saying that. I guess I should have given a better explanation. The problem isn't so much the bold; it's when there is both bold and background coloring in the winner row. That is very unnecessary and redundant. While it's good to be consistent, going according to MOS is even more important. So, if there's going to be one or the other, it's better to remove the bold because bold really shouldn't be within a table. It should only be in the heading (top row and first column). So, I am in the process of correcting those that have both bold and shading. (By the way, some have just bold and some have just shading -- not "all" are the same now either.) From 1952 to 1967 there was no single best actress award, as Bafta divided it among two sub groups; domestic and foreign, same goes for best actor BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, the two were amalgamated into one in 1968. You just linked me a page that you created. The best British award is indeed defunct, as is BEST FOREIGN award. As I have explained, there were two awards (domestic and foreign) that almagamted into one in 1968. You still don't get it..you linked me an awards page that didn't have two categories so naturally only best actress is shown. There was no best actress for bafta from 1952 to 1967...it was best British actress, best foreign actress...that's it. What you have done is create an award that didn't exist. First of all, you must not have read WP:BRD because it is you who should have started this discussion when I first reverted, and I shouldn't have had to revert again. You started an edit war (a big no no). Are you not the same person who I talked to before (several sections above)? Or is this someone else using this account?

Now, why would I say, "these links aren't valid because the articles don't mention them" if I didn't check them out first? Your edit is a contradiction. You unlink Norma Desmond (which I agree with), and I reverted the links for basically the same reason. Your edits at Nina Arianda had several flaws:

1. The infobox was devoid of any information that couldn't be found immediatley to its left, except for the unsubstantiated claims that Arianda is a "Singer" and that her period of activity stated in 2009 – she graduated then, but that alone doesn't mean she didn't appear earlier or later.
2. WP:LEAD discourages mentioning awards in an article's lead.
3. You removed without explanation the external link to Playbill Vault.
4. You introduced a duplicate section heading "External links"
5. You added an external link to IMDb which was already used as a reference.

I corrected all these, plus I removed one irrelevant category and consolidated two identical references, and I mentioned all this in my edit summary. Instead of summarily reverting my edit without edit summary, you should have followed WP:BRD and discuss the reasons for your edit and my reversal at Talk:Nina Arianda. I believe your statement about awards is not completely accurate. I think what is discouraged is usage such as "Oscar Award-winning actor" in the opening sentence. I have to take issue with some of your editing, especially when you reduce an already short lede paragraph down to a single sentence or two. Ledes are not intended to be as short as possible, they're supposed to be a succint summary of the article, and as such significant highlights of a subject's career can, and should, appear there. It's not meant to mention 'everything, but neither is is supposed to say "He was born, he lived, and he's an actor." Things that appear in the lede should also appear in the article itself, so removing material from the lede and moving it into the article is not necessarily a good thing.

Please be more careful with this in the future.

Also, do I take it that you are not a native English speaker? I ask because of your sometimes odd choices of tense, and your deliberate change of "a" to "an" in front of "British" in the lede to Valda Setterfield, a change that would fall badly on the ear of native English speakers. Your writing is generally fine, but I've had to make some strange little adjustments such as that to a number of your edits.

There are really two problems with the date of birth. First is that it is listed at all - usually the full date is omitted except for public figures, and she's a minor actress. Secondly is that it hasn't appeared in a reliable source that meets the standards of WP:V. The fact that this is a living person makes it all the more important that we be careful with this kind of thing. well like I said, I read several interviews with her and about her career, and being born in 1941 fits her career path. she was active in the theatre back in the 70's and also started late as an actress, not moving to New York until 1977. (if she was born in 1941, should would have already been 30 in 1971). She also said she lives in the West Village in New York City, where Jane Street is.

Her full real name is not Marylouise, it's just Mary, she chose Marylouise as her stage name (Louise IS her middle name) and FamilySearch.com is simply a registry of public official documents, and only once so far have I found if the age of the person is available, it was wrong, which was obvious because I knew that person wasn't that old, but here I feel the 1941 age fits. You're probably right, but I think that we need explicit sources for a BLP for a person who is of marginal notability and just not well known at all. If you can find a source published in year X giving her age as Y, then we can make the calculation and give it in the proper way in the article. Well her middle named was always in the article with a source from a British birth record website. a vandal deleted the source for whatever reason, I am in America and can't easily look up the source again but if you click on "View History" and go down to previous version, you will see that someone already verified it. Well, the first time someone added "Mary E" to the article (without a source) was on 7 March 2010. On 27 March 2011 someone expanded the "E" to "Elizabeth", again without a source. I've been watching the article for years and don't remember seeing any source for the middle names. Besides, we have a published statement from herself that at least one of the two middle names is wrong. In the meantime I've found an entry in the "England and Wales Birth Registration Index 1837-2008" confirming the middle name "Mary E". I'll add this to the article as a source. Hi HesioneHushabye. Thanks for trying to improve the 87th Academy Awards article. However, I noticed that some of your edits introduced serious problems with adding improperly sourced information. For example, you edit here added a bunch of presenters, but the reference you added, <ref name=silvermanpresent/>, did not verify that those people would be performing. Also, your edit here changed Adam Levine to Maroon 5, when the source only confirmed that Levine would be performing, not Maroon 5. Furthermore, with that edit you changed Rita Ora to Jennifer Hudson but didn't change the reference, which only talked about Hudson. There are many more examples that I've had to fix. Please pay close attention to references when making future edits, only add information that is backed up by a citation to a reliable source, and be careful when copying and pasting. I did. It's not a good idea to use WP:PRIMARY sources like court records for private information about a living person. However, my bigger concerns are that you removed citation needed tags, which is not a good idea unless you actually add citations to reliable sources. You also added private information about living people from other self-published sources (murderpedia.org and classmates.com) which violates WP:BLPSPS and is not allowed. While this is an acceptable source, the material added is trivial and doesn't belong in an encyclopedia. I removed citation needed tags because someone added them for information that can be verified in the sources already used, and it's frowned upon to use citations twice. Just because there isn't a reference after a paragraph doesn't mean the information is not cited elsewhere in the page. Someone is going around adding those tags all over pages making them difficult to read and cluttered. What counts as a "valid website" can be argued, and that doesn't mean that the content they publish is not fact. I have happened to research this case a lot and I know what is fact and what isn't. Lana Tisdel is a public figure because of the Oscar winning film Boy's Don't Cry, so there is a public interest in her personal life and her whereabouts. The statement is not referencing a song, it is referencing a person. Whether the person was from Texas is not what is being referenced. What setting was changed to Texas? I don't know what you are talking about. The film Boy's Don't Cry is set in Texas. The real-life events the film is based on happened in Nebraska. I think you are reading the sentences wrong. The sentence before that says the film changed Lisa Lambert's name (a real person) to Candace. I realize the edit was to Lana Tisdale's page, not Boy's Don't Cry, so I'm glad you knew what I meant. As for the edit, the movie was filmed in Texas, because it was cheaper, but it is set in Nebraska. This is why I deleted the statement that the setting was changed to Texas. There was no setting in the entire film that had anything to do with Texas, save the song. The film takes place entirely in Nebraska, and nothing whatsoever was changed to Texas, hence the deletion of that statement. Sorry but you are false, the director Kimberly Pierce kept the city names but changed it to Texas, and that's why the movie's theme song is " The Bluest Eyes in Texas ". Please look at any synopsis of the film, from whatever site you like. Please look at reviews of the film. Please look at IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Flixter, etc. The film takes place in Nebraska. The towns are even stated in the film. There is no Lincoln or Falls City, TX. It takes place in NEBRASKA. It was FILMED in Texas, but takes place in nowhere but Nebraska. Please, if you have a copy of the film, watch it. No setting, whatsoever, takes place anywhere but Nebraska. I don't know where you are getting this from, but it is completely incorrect. Please leave the edit alone. Brandon leaves Lincoln, which is even specifically stated, in the film, and went to Falls City, which is not only seen on the sign, but is heard. All Nebraska. Hi, it's Birdienest81 again.

I know you are not a fan of the guidelines for Wikipedia:Manual of Style particularly regarding featured lists, but we did agree awhile back with The Rambling Man that there be consistency amongst all the Academy Awards acting list. I try to adhere to the feedback that my colleagues have given me to improve these lists over at WP:FLC. We even made a compromise by allowing the daggers to have space from the winner's name. As you can see the table is sortable so that anybody can change the order alphabetically by name, film, or character. That way people can find a certain name. Do not worry, I won't touch the other lists you're interested in. I'm only concerned about the Oscars (and some sports).

I agree with you completely, but it's a question of using the name the women used. Where there's a clash between that and the name the sources have chosen, I'd support the former, but not everyone would agree with that. In the case of Vivienne Haigh-Wood Eliot, I think she would not want to be separated from that surname, and the sources tend to call her that too (or some variation of it e.g. Vivien Eliot). Probably, and if it had been on a different subject than the Biography of a Living Person, I likely would have left things alone--however, had it been a new article, this would be a case worthy of a WP:BLPPROD. Due to the fact that it's not actually new and has a version (the redirect) in its history that doesn't have that problem, it wouldn't be the right action here, but not doing something leaves a risk, no matter how small, of the page remaining an unsourced BLP for longer than is acceptable by Wikipedia's rules. Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Kara Young (actress), Leslie Odom Jr. and Broadway theatre. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. Hi HesioneHushabye! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. " Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism.
