Thanks for your message. Thanks for the link. I did also find a few links such as this one http://radioclatterbridge.co.uk/index.php/latest-news/42-phil-rostance/1367-actors-wanted-to-break-free which is about his book and have included that, is this a good reference and I have included a link to a newspaper a few years ago regarding him being an actor. There's not a specific number, Leepbreaking, but the more the better. It's also about quality: coverage in national newspapers counts for more than local newspaper coverage when it comes to establishing notability. I'm a bit confused by this particular subject, I have to say. He seems to have quite a limited CV, but there is talk of a film being made about his life. Am I missing something? I may be a beginner who has made a mistake on manually adding references Cordless Larry but you are very wrong in your assumption that my text is a copyright violation. johnburgessactor.com is my site and all the text is my composition. A friend of mine was advising me on setting up a blog for my late father and wrongly left the text designed for the planned new Wiki page on the blog page. He has now taken it off the site. If you go to the site now, there is no text. How have you obtained the full text?

John Burgess was my late father and this is my project in honour of his memory.

What do you suggest now? I obviously feel aggrieved to be accused of copywright violation for something I wrote myself.

Hello Harveyburg, and thanks for your message. I found the text via a Google search and accessed Google's cached version of the page. Using text from another website on Wikipedia isn't just a matter of ownership of the copyright. All text on Wikipedia is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 licence, so source material used here needs to be available under a compatible licence. If you own the site, you could make the material available under the ShareAlike licence, but you should be aware that that would make it available for use by everyone - not just Wikipedia editors. Given that John Burgess was your father, you should have a read of Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy, which strongly discourages editing of articles about people you are related to. Can you please clarify some issues for me. Firstly, in respect of the share alike license, I understand what you are saying about text that is on Wikipedia. But in terms of my johnburgessactor.com site, as I say, the text that I composed was placed on my site in error and has now been withdrawn. It will never again appear anywhere other than on Wiki. Does that not resolve the point you make about me having the choice to make the material on my site available under the share alike license or is it still a problem that it is/was present on Google's cached version of the page?

Also, please can you explain to me why you have concluded that my additions on Wikipedia were insufficiently sourced. Can you please explain this and give me some examples. This is extraordinary to me. Not only are many of the plays and TV shows John Burgess appeared in, in the public domain (IMDb and Theatricalia for example), they are also referred to in the obituary written by Mike Leigh in The Guardian, which I placed in the exernal links section.

In terms of the personal information about my father's life, how is that insufficiently sourced?

Hello again, Harveyburg. The fact that the post on the other wesbite has been deleted may well be sufficient, but I am not an expert on copyright. I would give you some advice on referencing, but your additions to the article have now been supressed due to the copyright concerns and I therefore can no longer see them. From memory, the issue was that several of the sources you used did not meet our criteria for reliable sources, and there were statements such as about your father's family background and education that were not followed by inline citations. Placing a link to a source in the external links section is not sufficient, because a reader will have no idea what parts of the article are based on it. That's why you need to use inline citations. User:Cordless Larry, I think subjective infobox montages from articles like man and woman should also be removed per WP:NOETHNICGALLERIES. According to the updated Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Images#Images_for_the_lead, "Articles about ethnic groups or similarly large human populations should not be illustrated by a gallery of images of group members". See Wikipedia:Copyright violations. If Ahmed Abou Hashima is the CEO of the company you work for, then you should also read and follow the advice at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. The issue is not whether the material is true, Mohamed gom, although the article is written in a promotional tone, which is against Wikipedia policies, and does not cite any sources, which is another problem. That doesn't give Wikipedia the right to use the material word-for-word, Mohamed gom. You also shouldn't be using sources written by employees of the company for anything other than basic facts about it. You need to find independent sources to base the article on. I believe LPS popular is very significant. Many children are creating their own TV shows with dolls, many of them LPS dolls, instead of watching corporate made-TV. This show a dramatic shift in the way the younger generation is consuming media, by being producers of their own shows. One show with the greatest following is 'LPS Popular'. In the way that the term is used by Wikipedia, notability is not the same thing as significance, KawaiiCafe. Take a look at Wikipedia:Notability and WP:Golden rule, which explain what the term means here. Basically, you need to provide evidence that the subect has been the subject of significant coverage in independent sources, by citing those sources in any article. I don't know what sources exist on him and don't have the time to find them (if they exist), so I can't really help. As I stated in my initial query, I am Lances' father and there are a few U tube clips under Lance Hohaia where I do verify various aspects of his rugby league career but I was thinking that it would be ideal to create (?) a bio of his 'Early Years phase' in one area and Wikipedia would be the vehicle. If I mention a comment by B. C. Khanduri from this source, then am I POV pushing ? The google snippet view is small, but can be read.

Hello, Captain Spark. If you add material in Wikipedia's voice that states that JNU is under leftist control or is anti-India, then yes, I think that is POV. If you carefully explain that Khanduri and Herald have described it as such, then it probably isn't POV. See WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV on this. I hope that helps you. They are claiming that my sources are not reliable which are from Deccan Chronicle, Daily Mail, IBN-7 and Rajasthan Patrika, which states something opposite of sources from these three: Rediff.com, The Tribune (Chandigarh) and The Hindu. They claim Deccan Chronicle article was written by Srinivas Kumar Sinha, so can't be trusted as he is a retired army officer. They find Daily Mail was written by a biased writer and as it is published in 2016, it is wrong about an incident in 2000. They find IBN-7 and Rajasthan Patrika as local newspaper and the source is personal opinion and tabloid. Among the sources that they support, I found only The Hindu as neutral according to their own logic as the Rediff.com (website founded in 1996, publishing an online article in 2000, when the website is 4 years old) and Tribune editorial which is also written as personal opinion. They trust the personal opinion of the Tribune editor but not the personal opinion of those who wrote the articles in Deccan Chronicle and Daily Mail. Captain Spark ( talk) 10:03, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi there, I corrected a factual inaccuracy on the page on a living person (Sugata Bose), by deleting the claim that he is married to Ayesha Jalal (the page on whom I also corrected). Mr Bose is unmarried. Another contributor repeatedly re-inserted the inaccurate information (on both pages), using as 'source' media items which contain the inaccurate claim (probably taken from Wikipedia!). As I am deleting inaccurate information, I cannot put in any 'attribution'. Also, it is not possible to provide proof of something that is non-existent. There is a legal affidavit by Mr Bose available online which shows he has no spouse. But as I am only deleting wrong information, not adding any, I couldn't see any way of referencing it. You often advise people at the Teahouse who want article about themselves or their bands to post requests to WP:Requested articles. While that is the right answer on paper, there is no right answer in reality. You are essentially telling them to put their requests in, if not a black hole, a rabbit hole. (It isn't a black hole because they are still there, and the information paradox does not apply. However, articles very seldom come out of the hole. Rabbits and wiki-gnomes may go in and out, but they seldom bring articles out.) You are probably doing the right thing, in that, if they think that they will get their articles some day, they will avoid posting them to AFC and wasting everyone's time. Perhaps the right answer would be to tell them that if they or their bands are notable, someone else will do it, but, since they probably aren't notable, no on will do it. After writing that, I think that it is best to do as you do. Just tell them to go to RA, and maybe they will do so, and maybe nothing will happen for a while. That keeps them from asking us to write their article, or from submitting a draft and asking us to clean it up from their bias. I think that the advice is a Lie to children, and is the right advice to give to children who want us to help them. Once in a while, they may really have notable topics. Usually, they don't. First, it is common for filing parties who come to DRN not to understand much about DRN or Wikipedia. That isn't a problem if they are willing to listen, because the moderator can explain how Wikipedia works and how DRN works. It only becomes a problem if one of the parties (filing or otherwise) is stubborn, and then the moderator can fail the case after admonishing the parties. Hi Robert McClenon. My point was really just that the editor could perhaps do with some guidance on how to notify the other parties, as I suspect that they don't realise they need to do this. Perhaps a Teahouse invite would be in order? I'd be perfectly happy to take part if the case gets off the ground, though I am by no means an expert in the topic. The only reason I got involved is that the article is on my watchlist from when there was some dispute over use of the term at Somalis in the United Kingdom. I am familiar with some of the literature, however, and I can say for sure that superdiversity isn't the same thing as affirmative action. The latter is a policy prescription designed to reduce inequalities between racial or ethnic groups, whereas superdiversity is really a descriptive concept that describes the changing nature of diversity in countries such as the UK. The idea is basically that whereas such countries have a history of large-scale immigration from a limited range of countries, in recent decades these migration flows come from a much broader range of countries and include an increasing range of people, from workers to students to refugees. This article, by the sociologist who coined the term, explains it better than I can. On your final point, I agree that there is some confusion about the article is actually about. It's barely used outside of academia (in fact, outside of the discipline of sociology), Robert McClenon. There is some literature applying the concept to the United States and to the Netherlands, but most of it is focused on the UK from what I can tell. If you asked a British person on the street what it meant, though, I very much doubt that they would have heard of the term. It doesn't get used much in the media or in policy circles, from what I can tell. By contrast, I was at the British Sociological Association conference last week, and it was a bit of buzzword. In that case, the term may not have existed around 1970 in the United States, but was implemented by a reform of the immigration act which eliminated national origin quotas and focused on in-demand job skills and family unification, and had the effect of significantly increasing immigration from Latin America and Asia as opposed to from Europe. I don't know what superdiversity would be in New Zealand since I don't know what non-British immigrants New Zealand has traditionally had. I understand that the United Kingdom has accepted some number of immigrants from former African and Asian colonies, so that superdiversity would be from other parts of Asia and Latin America.
