Hi Brian, there's a current proposal to start up a new WikiProject covering Australian music. See here. I thought you may be interested. Cheers — Moondyne 12:40, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
I tagged the article because the band has only released one album and doesn't appear to be signed to a record label. However, if the band meets any criteria in WP:MUSIC for inclusion, then the article could be edited to assert notability and kept. Having toured with notable acts is not a good indicator of notability, because even unsigned bands with no releases can be the opening act for a notable band. -- Leon Sword 01:58, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
You previously indicated an interest in this at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals. I've started up a new page but it needs lots of work. Come on over and join up. Regards. — Moondyne 18:12, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
That looks fine. — Moondyne 04:01, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:Jimmybarnesheatofthenight.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 07:58, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Hi Brian, I have noticed that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! — Moondyne 04:59, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Nazxul.gif, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. – Quadell ( talk) ( random) 22:23, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
As Australian Heavy Metal isn't an area I am overly familar with - I thought you might want to change any bands you are aware of from Category:Australian musical groups to their specific states and therefore populate each of the respective State categories. Dan arndt 08:10, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
I have proposed that Category:Australian heavy metal music be deleted because no other country category scheme organizes their articles in this manner. Please feel free to chime in at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_August_14#Category:Australian_heavy_metal_music. Thanks.- Andrew c [talk] 16:00, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Hi Brian. I noticed you tagged the Mullanes article for Merge with Crowded House. Now, I'm not for it, though I didn't create the article and am not completely against it (though lean more towards believing the article deserves to be its own), but in your suggestion to merge the two articles, it's expected you would provide a rationale as to why you believe it necessary. The greater volume of members of the Crowded House wikiproject would probably agree that the page is more necessary than to simply be a part of the Crowded House page. Examples of this include the bands that the members of Linkin Park were in before they became LP, and the majority of those pages (I think there're about 3 or 4) are not as informative, nor unique in their information, as this (by this, I mean that there's info here that presently can't be found in the Crowded House article, and it wouldn't be advisable to harp on this era on the Crowded House page). So, if you could explain the purpose of the merge tag, I'll accept that we've initiated a discussion, otherwise, I'll remove it. -- linca linca 11:55, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! -- SineBot 23:03, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
I have nominated the article, Misery (Australian band) for deletion from Wikipedia. You can access the process by visiting the article. I have done this not because I am deletionist or a senior writer for Wikipedia, or because I believe in destroying your work, as some do at Wikipedia.
I am doing it for a variety of reasons: To learn how the deletion process works. As a reaction to the recent deletion of the Misery (band) article. (Based in Minneapolis, MN., US.) I admit this difficult to defend reason but offer up my wish to learn about the internal problems of Wikipedia by responding to the Minneapolis band’s deletion by attempting to delete the Australian band. As an attempt to review Wikipedia’s deletion policy as it relates to alternative and all bands.
I am blogging on this situation. The blog is accessible through my user page.

Thanks for uploading Image:MortalSin-MD.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:01, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading Image:Veniamin.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Polly ( Parrot) 20:36, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading Image:Arisetopower 3415.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. A tag has been placed on Image:Loudmouth001.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with no fair use rationale uploaded after May 4, 2006 which has been tagged as not having a rationale for more than 7 days.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{
hangon}}
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Loudmouth001.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

Hey Brian, I see you've noticed the GA nomination. The article is nearly there, all it needs is an improved synopsis section and better refs. Thanks for uploading File:Lord-tyrant.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media). If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot ( talk) 04:00, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC) Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! Cheers.♦ -- MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 02:12, 24 November 2016 (UTC) Guild of Copy Editors December 2016 News

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{
hangon}}
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Loudmouth001.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay.

I haven't seen the show, so I can't help with the synopsis section. Could you please do that? Meanwhile, I'll be looking for better references. That tvtonight is used everywhere, grrrr, lol. Thanks. Hi, I'd like to invite you to participate in the Guild of Copy Editors July 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. In May, about 30 editors helped remove the {{copyedit}} tag from 1175 articles. The backlog is still over 7500 articles, and extends back to the beginning of 2008! We really need your help to reduce it. Copyediting just a couple articles can qualify you for a barnstar. Serious copyeditors can win prestigious and exclusive rewards. See the event page for more information. And thanks for your consideration. ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 14:38, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your cooperation. -- ImageTaggingBot ( talk) 04:05, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Warheadad001.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use.

Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
