A tag has been placed on Mecislovas Gedvilas requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{
hangon}}
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on
the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact
one of these admins to request that they

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Vytautas Sakalauskas, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{ hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. -- Marcus Qwertyus ( talk) 16:31, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. -- SineBot ( talk) 16:32, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Vytautas Sakalauskas. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles nor are such pages a forum. Thank you. -- Marcus Qwertyus ( talk) 18:01, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Ok. The article itself is clearly not offensive, but there are obvious ways in which it could be expanded and improved. You say that he has held other university posts. What are they? you say that he has rec eived other honours. What are they? What else has he done? Previous academic history, political history, publications? And you have not as yet learned how correctly to insert references. See WP:REF for guidance on this. Happy wikying. -- Anthony.bradbury "talk" 21:49, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

great....now what should I do next ? Nefesf9 ( talk) 18:03, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
At wikipedia, we try to assume good faith that the IP editor is attempting to improve the article.
So when they add inappropriated content, we remove it and place a notice about why their edit was in appropriate. If they continue, we place a warning explaining the consequences of continuing their inappropriate actions. See the series of notices and warning templates here: Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace
If they still continue their disruptive behavior after several of the notices and warnings (first time, they get a level 1 notice, then a level 2, etc. till they get a final notice.) , then you can go further.
If you have questions, let me know. I had also noticed the questionable edits and I will keep an eye out as well. Active Banana ( talk) 01:52, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Paukštis.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

A user found that images in the article were false, taken from other sources and attributed to Galaune. This is an intentional hoax. That brought into question validity of some statements in the article. They are hard to verify because you cited them to a paper book, which is not available online. Please come clean and identify and other false information that you inserted in the article. Renata ( talk) 17:06, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

A discussion has begun about whether the article Paulius Galaunė, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Nefesf9 ( talk) 20:00, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

i am prepared to do all of this - i have read what wikipeidia is not and the notability page, and I have read the pillars thin in the top of the page. Nefesf9 ( talk) 21:12, 28 June 2010 (UTC) also, you want to see Vytautas Sakalauskas and its talk ? I really edited it well just before i was banned to improve it.
i wish people took some more care over how me as a new person was treated, as it seems that I am being blocked, and not-unblocked simply because people have misunderstanded me.
im waiting for ever for people to tell me whether i can be blocked or not. this is crazy. can you just get on and unblock me or pernamently block me. im trying to follow the rules but you wont give me a chance. Nefesf9 ( talk) 19:49, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
ok, sorry for being a bit rushed about all this. i'm just a bit annoyed about the whole thing.
Fastily, who blocked you, is currently busy (and says so on his own page) so in his absence I have unblocked you. Please do not disappoint me. -- Anthony.bradbury "talk" 19:59, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Nice article! Do you plan on finishing it? Let me know if you need help -- I am sorry to see you got in so much trouble. Renata ( talk) 16:21, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
Some things you may want to consider for next steps, I am not really sure of the suggested order, but I think:

RE: the image at Paulius Galaunė. Images of the artwork will be a great plus for the article, but due to copyright laws, you should also include third party commentary about the art. See particularly WP:NFCI (and the whole article) Active Banana ( talk) 19:44, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

On July 9, 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Paulius Galaunė, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, quick check ) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

great....now what should I do next ?
In addition to writing articles:
There are some other things that you may want to do after a while, but I would suggest some time becoming more familiar with how wikipedia works and how to apply policies and guidelines: such as providing third opinions, if you are good with people and helping resolve disputes, becoming a Mediator. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! AngChenrui ( talk) 10:00, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Hello. You have uploaded this picture as a painting by Paulius Galaunė, but another editor pointed out that it can be found on this website where an American painter takes credit for it. It would be nice if any doubts on copyvio could be cleared up. Do you by any chance have a source for your version? -- Saddhiyama ( talk) 22:54, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit that you made to the page Paulius Galaunė has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Please use the sandbox for testing any edits; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing for further information. Thank you. WookieInHeat ( talk) 19:55, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
A discussion has begun about whether the article Paulius Galaunė, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paulius Galaunė until a concensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.
You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Nefesf9 ( talk) 20:00, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
May I ask your reasons for adding hoaxes to the article? -- Saddhiyama ( talk) 20:19, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

20:29, 7 September 2010 (UTC)I was considering an indefinite block for your continued disruption -- even before your own request. At this point, I am uncertain about the validity of your claims that the articles are hoaxes. It will be necessary for other editors who are more familiar with Lithiuanian to investigate. However, either the creation of hoax articles or false claims in attempting to have them deleted is sufficient to block you from further editing on Wikipedia. — CactusWriter (talk) 20:36, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
Since you decided to come clean... do you have other accounts on Wikipedia? How many? Please list them. Renata ( talk) 21:05, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
