Is it possible to have InternetArchiveBot fix dead links like this? -- bender235 ( talk) 18:00, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
On your article about Blackberry (RIM), reference number 79 has a bad url. It should be http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/patently-absurd/article18153839/ ( 24.80.208.185 ( talk) 22:36, 17 February 2017 (UTC))
The bot continually resets the weekly past requests. I don't know whether the bot can be simply fixed to properly archive the protection requests. I wonder whether those at WP:VPT can handle it. -- George Ho ( talk) 01:45, 19 February 2017 (UTC)

On occasion, Cyberbot strips away huge chunks of the "rolling" RFPP archiving when adding entries from the main page. I assume since that it's called a rolling archive, this shouldn't be happening. [3] — Train2104 ( t • c) 23:21, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

There is another potential WebCite API bug: this works, this doesn't. The second should return the API data but returns the page data. Seems like returnxml=true has to be the first argument with url= queries. -- Green C 18:30, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
News and updates for administrators from the past month (February 2017).
Hey, C678, I just found an error in the way the bot determines userrights when it updates the individual stats page for each admin. I noticed that mine is now labeled "Crat", most likely because I became a global renamer at the end of January, and since it sees that I have done some renames, it assumes that I'm a crat now. Not that it really matters to me, but I wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea from seeing that heading on my stats. Cheers — DoRD ( talk) 16:55, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

As a side note, this really shouldn't have been done. I've been waiting for 10+minutes to get a confirmation email, and I still haven't received one. Most people will probably just go "this is a hassle, fuck it" and move on without reporting bugs. Talk page protection should be removed per WP:BOTCOMM. There appears to be a fairly serious bug that should receive attention soon. It's reported for T160175, T159975 and T159833 .. those are examples, it likely applies to any archive service outside the core (wayback, webcite, archive.is and a few others). The bug is urgent because there is no way to recover from it automatically (without great difficulty) and it's even somewhat difficult to detect. But it causes a lot of damage by effectively deleting archive URLs. -- Green C 15:14, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
Can I contest the cascading protection on this page? It certainly is visible enough but not that frequently trafficked in comparison to the main page. Hey, there. InternetArchiveBot incorrectly flagged two URLs on the Brian McClendon page as dead links. They aren't -- they're links to the US Patent Office database. I've fixed the errors. I tried to follow the instructions on the bot's talk page to report false positives, but all the options link me out to https://tools.wmflabs.org which requires a login which I don't have, and I have no interest in setting up yet another account on yet another site.
I don't know who owns this bot, but the last option on the bot's talk page is to leave a message here, so here I am. (Why would anybody let loose a bot and then not make it simple/easy to report problems with it? Why???) Thanks Bookgrrl holler/ lookee here 17:44, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
