To-do list for Zakopane: |
82.143.162.72 12:33, 28 February 2006 (UTC)Is there any reason why there should be a section for the flag if no flag can be found? I was not aware that Zakopane even had a flag. Not all Polish towns have one, even if they have a coat of arms.

In the mountaineering section there are _climbers_ and examples of _climbs_ while _hikers_ and _hiking trials_ would me much more appropriate. Of course, there are climbers, skiers, and skitourers in Tatras but examples are wrong and the section needs to be entirely rewritten. Titus Atomicus ( talk) 09:09, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
I agree, the sports section needs to be rewritten. There are more activities that can be added. For example, in the winter people ski, ice skate, sled runs, snowmobiling, and snowshoe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Madetkom ( talk • contribs) 04:51, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
According to Wikipedia's definition, Central Europe includes Austria and Switzerland, both of which have the Alps. Thus, The High Tatras cannot be the only alpine range in Central Europe. (this unsigned message was left by Jancikotuc on 25 August 2006 )
The pushpin in the map places Zakopane in Slovakia - can anyone correct this?-- Smerus 11:53, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
I feel that the "The five-star Villa Marilor Hotel" is just an advert snuck in for quick publicity. The significance of it in Zakopane is very negligable. Should it be edited out? 09:30, 07 May 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 57.66.195.81 ( talk) In my opinion Villa Marilor is quite interesting piece of architecture and history. However I agree considering the size of this Zakopane article it should not be mentioned. Titus Atomicus ( talk) 00:20, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

@ Piotrus and Oliszydlowski: I was wondering does it would be worthible to mention that Zakopane appeared in film American film Love Hard (film) directed by Costarican director. This was realased one week ago but you can check/verify it by watching film on Netflix: [1] 1:25:25, you can see Giewont on the right, this view is from Gubałówka and are similar on commons. I was very surprised when seen that! The article include polocentric information about Andrzej Wajda's films. Dawid2009 ( talk) 15:51, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
Two friends and I recently travelled to Zakopane on a mission to see if we could ski for £100 from the UK, safe to say we managed to do it for just over £100. One of the guys had never skied before so we filmed out little weekend trip and I have to say I really enjoyed Zakopane. Before we set this challenge I had never even thought of Poland as a destination for skiing but I would throughly recommend it to beginners or more experienced skiers and snowboarders alike. Check out our video on YouTube to see out experience, just search jump wide and you'll find us! 80.192.251.102 ( talk) 22:14, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
