I want to do the article division of Reversi and Othello or changing name to Reversi ⇒ Othello/Reversi(board game), how about? The relations of Othello should transcribe that which how about, the article of Othello(board game) into Reversi by an article of Othello(board game). Specifically, it was said with "I transfer it to deletion, an article of Reversi immediately without permission" the other day even if I made Othello(board game) newly and was going to transcribe "World Othello Championship" in an article. It is strange to list "World Othello Championship" of Othello in an article of Reversi. (okayamin おかやみん ( talk) 15:24, 2 December 2015 (UTC))
So, in Criminal Minds, a very early S1 episode indicated that Go!/Reversi had a personality test associated with it. I do not know whether or not this statement has any research backing, but if one has been developed, it may be worth mention as well as whether or not it has any research backing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.188.168.166 ( talk) 04:50, 12 March 2016 (UTC)
What's the source for saying that in Reversi each player only has 32 pieces? The standard work to hand, RC Bell's Board and Table Games From Many Civilizations (2nd ed, 1969), predates the 'invention' of Othello and just says that there are 64 pieces, black on one side and white on the other. There's no indication that a player 'owns' 32 of them. (In relation to an earlier query, it's also clear that a capture involves all such rows, not just one.)
When Othello was released, comment in places like Games & Puzzles magazine and David Levy's books only referred to its opening restriction, not any other changes. Lovingboth ( talk) 19:27, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
Ravensburger, who are publishing Reversi since 1893, say in their Ruleset: "Jeder Spieler erhält zu beginn 32 Spielsteine." Since Ravensburger owns the trademark Reversi you may trust this source. 178.10.132.174 ( talk) 03:42, 20 May 2018 (UTC)
In 1984 the MacIntosh computers came with a version of Reversi called Iago - a reference to the trademarked version of the game, Othello.
It's mentioned here:

Might be worth mentioning. Ileanadu ( talk) 01:30, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
Rather than a patent, trademark(in Japan) -- 219.40.151.3 ( talk) 01:38, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
Patent approved in 1974, registered trademark approved in 1976. I'm guessing the patent might have expired already, but could've been challenged? -- Saledomo ( talk) 10:01, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
Even if it was nothing new, they could have applied for design patent. It seems like the organization makes a lot of claims about originality that have been disproven by the internet community. ---- Saledomo ( talk) 01:22, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
Has anyone bothered to notice that in the game of Reversi (microsoft build in gamepack), there is no United States nationality in any of the meriat overseas microsoft packages?
There is spanish, english, danish, hungarian, japan, arab, but no ´united states´.
I suppose a United States Citizen can anonimously become any, which I suppose is a fine hack, if you where a United States Citizen. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.88.240.2 ( talk) 17:02, 21 January 2017 (UTC)
The article makes it very clear that in modern times, the game is called Othello not Reversi (hilariously, as I am writing this, it appears that Othello is considered to be a word while Reversi is underlined in red. This could be due to the Shakespeare's Othello now that I think about it.) I had never heard of Reversi and had only recently discovered Othello, so I almost thought Othello simply didn't have a Wikipedia article. I'm sure others have had similar confusion. So I ask, isn't it within reason to change this articles' title to Othello(formerly Reversi) or perhaps simply Othello ? PurpleBeans13 ( talk) 18:02, 29 August 2021 (UTC)PurpleBeans13
The redirect Othello(board game) has been listed at redirects for discussion to determine whether its use and function meets the redirect guidelines. Readers of this page are welcome to comment on this redirect at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2023 July 21 § Othello(board game) until a consensus is reached. The article does very poor job explaining what makes them different. Can someone familiar with both clarif this? Ideally, in a dedicated section? Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:27, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
