Olkhovsky District ( Russian: Ольхо́вский райо́н) is an administrative [district ( raion), one of the thirty-three in Volgograd Oblast, Russia. [1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Olkhovsky Municipal District. [6] It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,300 square kilometers (1,300 sq mi).[ citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Olkhovka. [2] Population: 17,626 ( 2010 Russian census); [4] 19,178 ( 2002 Census); [8] 18,356 ( 1989 Soviet census). [9] The population of Olkhovka accounts for 30.6% of the district's total population. [4]
